Hey dudes, what lenght should I set my Sims' lives? So far they are set to long, with all except toddler and baby set to maximum lenght... But I'm contemplating going for the maddening Epic lifespan.
Weird, that's what the mod is meant to fix, do you have the game set up right for mods? http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Sims_3:Installing_Package_Files
I dunno if I did, but i tried redoing it like six times. Then I got my brother to do it and it worked. Thanks for showing me the mod, guys! Now i'm back to makin' pools without ladders and incredibly flammable houses full of gnomes.

Usually I play with the "normal" life span except I extend the young adult and adult life stages by about 10 days each so I get a bit more life out of them. Otherwise I think their lives are too short to get anything meaningful done and of course with a lifespan like epic I wouldn't know what to do with my sims once I reached the top of their career ladders and completed their lifetime goal.
Guess I get too attached to them :v:
Here's something you can try. Just turn off aging completely so you can have as much time as you want. When you want one of your sims to age up you simply buy them a cake and have them age up that way.

Do NPC kids grow up and shit with that mode? :v:

Fuck those annoying gits. I have it set to: Baby -> 3 days, Toddler -> 5 days, Child -> 15 days, Teen -> 15 days, Young Adult -> 150 days, Adult -> 150 days, and Elder -> 180 days(never had a Sim get this far soooo... It's probably better to have it at 80 days)
Nah they won't, unless you go around to different households selectively aging up sims :v:
actually with the neighborhood story progression setting they will. also my sims are set to aging off and i just age them up individually, I also don't kill them until I have squeezed every last ounce of suffering from them. (I have yet to kill a sim) [editline]16th November 2012[/editline] has anyone had a problem with spontaneous self-pissing at full moons?

I usually play on Epic with baby, toddler and child set to only a few days each. Teen has like 20? I think, and then after that it's all maxed. I'm a huge completionist, and I tend to try and get everything maxed, all challenges completed and all artifacts found. I've yet to do this before getting bored and making a new character.
my ultimate goal in the sims is to usually get rich and fuck bitches
There are any Hardhat or google Mods for TS3? I want to make the TF2 Engi marry someone then have two children: A evil cleptomaniac guy and a lesbian woman.

i decided to play the sims 3 again and its running like ass. freezing and locking up constantly. anyone else having this problem? windows 8
i decided to play the sims 3 again and its running like ass. freezing and locking up constantly. anyone else having this problem? windows 8
Yeah I've had that since I got seasons. Its probably something that came with the patch that they released before it came out.
I made a family of 4 weird nerds (and clones of those 4 nerds), locked them in a small box with computers, and then cheated like shit. In the process they had three children (two of whom lived to roam around the neighborhood and one was taken by social services) with each other and also various random Sims. Also I killed a bunch of people, including Gunther and Cornelia Goth (who was eventually revived and then gave birth to one of the half-nerd abominations). Then I killed them all and played a game in the same neighborhood with a challenge: As a kleptomaniac, make all your money via stealing. Also my character was a clown. Meet Zippers Twiddlee. I spent a good three hours on this (and had upgraded the challenge from "making money" to "moving into a big fancy house in a rich neighborhood") and was pretty close to getting my clowny dick in Cornelia's ghost vagoo when my computer restarted by itself and I remembered I'd never saved. Ooohhh weelll.
Honestly, Li Lo(I think was her name) is the biggest bitch in Appaloosa Plains. This is the third time she came to my house and fucked shit up. First it was the trash can, then it was the snow man, now she is setting shit ON FIRE. I'm just about ready to delete her ass with testingcheatsenabled next time she comes around. Police have done jack shit
I have both Sims 2 and Sims 3 but I only ever play 2, anyone else the same? Sims 2 just had more "personality" then the 3.
I have both Sims 2 and Sims 3 but I only ever play 2, anyone else the same? Sims 2 just had more "personality" then the 3.
I'd play 3 more except it runs like shit for me for no reason.
Am I the only one who makes it my only goal to max out gardening/fishing/cooking and have a supply of ambrosia (and then more often than not, spend my following time maxing out the other skills)? I wish I wasn't so inclined towards powergaming. I've tried to not let myself do it in the past, but it always ends up the same. My favourite family was a guy who maxed out his skills in most things, made a robot, who I then decided would be evil and live in a secret underground castle with his old master hanging perilously in a cage above a giant pit. :v:
Btw, any ways to lengthen Sims' lives beside the lifetime rewards?
There's a bar you can Change in the options menu.
Btw, any ways to lengthen Sims' lives beside the lifetime rewards?
Probably the chemistry table. Make a "Young Again" potion, or whatever it's called, and then drink it.
There's a bar you can Change in the options menu.
Oh, I meant in-game methods my Sims can do, such as
Probably the chemistry table. Make a "Young Again" potion, or whatever it's called, and then drink it.
What's your favorite town? I've been attached to the Sunset whatever myself.
What's your favorite town? I've been attached to the Sunset whatever myself.
I liked that Lakeside something place, but it lacks some new features. Now the big city place is my new favourite. One thing that bugs me about almost all these towns is how nigh-impossible it is to find a spot for any new plots of land that are bigger than a fart. I mean okay Maxis, I get it, you hand-crafted these places to be the best, but you forgot to leave almost any room for the players' creativity.
I want to play the Sims 3, but it seems like every new expansion I get breaks more then it fixes. My first attempt recently found that I could not progress my Sims Athletic Skill no matter what I did. My second attempt, when I married another Sim, the Spouse did not move into the household. I mean, I sound like a broken record when it comes to the Sims 3, but EA simply doesn't care about fixing anything it seems.

Pay EA $40 for Seasons and you don't have to wait for a patch to fix it!
