I thought the whole point of the expansions were to be cheaper than the actual game

Spent hours creating the most perfect house ever and the game crashed again. I fucking give up at this game.

Just nabbed both Seassons and Supernatural from the Amazon links. Even Steam sales wouldn't take them that low, if they will ever show up on Steam in a timely manner.
Supernatural looked like a piece of shit waste of time for me,.so I skipped it.
...I like the Supernatural stuff. :(
Supernatural looked like a piece of shit waste of time for me,.so I skipped it.
This is what I like about the sims, if you want a realistic boring slims life, you can, if you want batshit crazyness, you can have it.
Woo. Took ~10 minutes to load into my save. I build a new park to have some of the new items (it wasn't even displaying a bulk of the items I had seen in trailers/reviews), only to have my game crash as I go back to my Edit Town screen.

Grabbed both of the Expansions on Amazon, but now I gotta download Origin. Kinda wary about this one, but I guess it can't be helped.
Origin isn't that bad. Just install the games with it, then never load it up again. You only have to log into it to download/install the games, not to run them. With Seasons, does anybody know how to access the kissing booths, eating contest stuffs, and whatnot? I'm building a park, and I can access some stuff (roller rinks, ice skating rinks, snow cone machines, snowboard halfpipe), but I feel like a lot of content is missing.
Oh shit, just found out there is a Vice City world for TS3. I have a reason to play TS3 again after the Li Lo incident.
Grabbed both of the Expansions on Amazon, but now I gotta download Origin. Kinda wary about this one, but I guess it can't be helped.
Using Origin for the Sims 3 is the most painless thing ever.
Got both expansions as well, and I just got Superstar off Amazon the other day for half off. Now I'm up to date with all the current expansions for Sims 3, which is a first, usually a pack or two behind.
WhaaaAAAAAAT? Also can you no longer register games on the Sims 3 website? All the codes I just got for Superstar, Supernatural, and Seasons don't work, and all the games I registered previously don't show up. Is it safe to assume it's now defunct and everything just works on Origin?

Have fun taking a year to load that thing ;)
Looks amazing. Have fun taking a year to load that thing ;)
Takes less to load then Bridgeport IMO. It's real small, still Beta, not many sims walking around.
God dammit. I apparently just wasted $20 on Seasons. Tried signing up for Origin but the first and second E-mail I used were somehow already taken so it wouldn't let me register. I wasn't too excited about Seasons so it's not a total loss. Thanks to my suddenly shit internet, though, Supernatural isn't faring much better. Do you have to register on Origin to get Supernatural, too? Or can I just install it with my regular Sims game when it's done downloading in a month or too?
You don't have to register anything on Origin, it just makes it easier to install the stuff.
Still can't get abducted. Losing my fucking patience.
You don't have to register anything on Origin, it just makes it easier to install the stuff.
Origin also downloads a helluva lot faster, too.
As soon as I clicked download on the store page it opened the .exe, and after a minute or too of doing fuck all it said that the download was done (even though it prob. should've taken 104 hours like Supernatural) and I needed to install Origin to install the game proper.
The pre-made festival grounds have hot dog carts, foot eating contest tables, greeting card booths, and more. How come I can't see any of these when I'm building my own park?

I give up. These fucking aliens refuse to abduct my dude no matter what I do. Sure it was piss easy to get abducted in Sims 2 but at least it fucking worked!
Good to see this thread getting some Love. I think Seasons has brought a lot of players back to the game  I know it has for me.
