All im missing is diesel stuff and maybe townlife stuff, cant tell from the icons on launcher. Cant decide if i wanna buy them or not :(
diesel and sweet treats. but im not gonna drop £12 on katy perry stuff :/
Damnit, I managed to find my old Sims 3 copy, but I haven't got a working DVD drive. And I really wanted to play it too.
Sso. All the Sims 3 stuff on Steam is -66% off... Is it worth it? If I do get it for reals for proper money, I'm gonna buy lods e expansions though. Is it worth it like that still?

If you have the cd key, you can activate it on Origin for a digital copy.
I suggest you look up details on each expansion pack to see if it really is worth it for you or not.
I have every EP besides Showtime, and while it brings lots of interesting moments to the game, I still feel like the game is playing me rather than I'm with it. Basically what I'm saying I kinda make it a chore than an actual game.
So I guess it's all based on how you let yourself play games - really what you make out of the experience will vary it in general, but to have a good idea and saving money you'll want to pick what you like and go with that.
I'll be honest, I do have the game with all the expansions except Seasons, just... Ehhh... I wanna actually buy it. So I guess some selection will definitely happen.

Supernatural, for example... While I like them potions, but the rest of it can go sit in the corner for all I care.
You can disable all the weird ass races that come with supernatural so you can use that expansion just for items and other bits without the annoying ass side effects like towns full of zombies/fairies

Just to add, without a mod too. Straight menu for it right in the game options.
well i have a HUGE issue
i got the sims 3 showtime DLC, activated on origin and downloaded but when i try to register the game on my account from the sims 3 website it says the key is invalid
i contacted ea support but they need my account birthdate wich i dont have
help
They should only need the email of your account.
I had a similar issue, though it was with my base game. I got in touch with tech support (with their live chat section), tossed them the email of my account and the cd key in question, and they replaced the key on my account with a new one.
I may have misread, but if it's downloaded already, why are you trying to activate it on their website?
in order to access the online exclusive features of the sims 3 showtime i gotta activate on the website also whatever i ask them about it and show the email and key they keep asking about the birthdate for some reason
Amazon has digital downloads of the Sims 3, and various expansions, marked down. Most are $20 and less (Ambitions, Showtime, and Late Night are $10 each, Generations $13).

Anybody think Pets is worth it for $20? It's the only expansion I don't have so far.
It doesn't add THAT much to the game. Although I find the ability to have Dogs/Cats and Horses kinda adds to the feeling of a "home" if that makes sense.
Maybe it's just me as I grew up with animals all my life so a house without any feels really strange so when I was able to get pets in Sims 3 it made me a very happy.
Do any of the animals become annoying?
I remember with TS2 pets expansion, stay animals would always dig up my yard. My pets, even with training, would still scratch furniture and dig holes as well.
I find my dogs hit and miss, the traits and stuff you teach them via scold and praise seems to play a LARGE part, like scolding the dog when it chews the sofa generally tends to help it not do such a thing, and praising it when it chews the toy enforces it to chew the toy rather than anything else.
Only thing that confused me was scolding for sofa but praising for toy marks for non destructive and destructive, which somewhat contradicts itself but still somehow seems to work.
All in all I'd say no. All dogs I've had.. (And I've got through quite a large amount due to my Char never ageing but everyone else including pets does.) never really caused too much of a problem. Give or take a few small hiccups. I think it comes down to their natural traits and how well you can teach them right from wrong so to speak.
Is there a way to uninstall expansion packs? I think the "Super Natural" makes things weird and it breaks the atmosphere for me.
Could you not technically just delete the supernatural folder? I'm not sure though as I've no recollection of any individual uninstaller for each expansion or pack.

Ah, sweet, I'll pick it up then.

You can disable all of the supernatural things in the Options menu. There should be a tab, and you can turn off the various magic creatures, as well as the lunar schedule (which I believe will disable the zombie attacks).
I think he meant other bits aside from the options it gives, unless he didn't. In which case yes. You can indeed disable a large portion of the supernatural expansion via the menu.
I'm not noticing a whole lot else that sticks out, outside of the venues (which can just be removed anyway).
The furniture tends to get lost within the menus for me.
so i contacted ea support again and they couldnt do much due to the fact they cant verify my account becouse i dont have the birthdate :v
well...i dont know what to do now
That's bizarre.
And there's no way for them to reset it, or send something to your email for you to change it?
Also, question for you guys. Is there a trait tied to kissing booths, or does my sim just lack game? I ask because the few times I've tried it, they attendant just blows my sim a kiss. Yet, they actually kiss other people. I feel kinda bad for him, not even can he pay money to get a kiss :frown:

Also, they'll be hosting a livestream on the 8th.

They say it's for the new stuff pack, but I'm sure they'll be hinting/announcing the next expansion then.
Funny that this thread is revived the day of it's sale :v:
So I finally got Sims 3. Is it as moddable as Sims 2?
Somebody help me, I am about to spend 84 euros on steam on the Sims 3 and lotsa expansions on sale
Of course, not all the expansions. That'd be loads more expensive. Stil... I have the money... I have the liking for the game... All of it is -66%... Should I?
Well depends how much you like the sims and how much playtime you'd get out of it so to speak.
