City Hall->NRaas->Options(or Settings?)
Find the aspect you don't want to be told about. Find the variable 'Story' under it and change it to false.
It still does the stuff, it just doesn't tell you all about it. I've turned off career stuff, 'I sold some junk at the shop today' stuff and aging stuff. Just left the important stuff like relationships, 'personality' events, births and deaths.
Does anyone know how to make an old residential lot into a simple tomb? I don't want to put traps into it or anything. I just wanted to add the room fog that is normally in tombs (like only being able to see rooms you've explored).
It'd be awesome to explore the oldest house in my town like this.
testingcheatsenabled true and then buydebug (Entered in buy mode) unlock all the 'locked' objects like tomb stuff/game logic items. Didn't know what exactly to do with them all so:

Seems like the main thing you really need is the 'Tomb Room Maker' which makes a room black until entered.

Man, I used to love The Sims. They were all pretty good, but the The Sims 3 lacked the customization that the Sims 2 had.
Actually, I wonder if they'll get the Sims 3 ported on to the Wii U. I would imagine the extra screen being useful for the HUD, seeing how big it is.

Ghost baby. Literally - he probably had sex with a ghost.
I like playing The Sims 2 because it feels like a complete game, unlike The Sims 3. After all expansions are released, I think Sims 3 will be the better choice though.

What do all of these Story Progression mods do? How do they differ from the default one in the game?
I like playing The Sims 2 because it feels like a complete game, unlike The Sims 3. After all expansions are released, I think Sims 3 will be the better choice though.
Honestly, I love the Sims 3 more than the Sims 2, but the Sims 2 had a lot more interesting new expansions than 3 has. Open for Business, University, and Seasons are some of my favorite expansions from any game, and the only one I've loved so far with 3 is Late Night (if only because it's the closest recreation of Superstar we'll get).
Read the descriptions for a detailed idea, but basically they make the NPCs do stuff because they want to do stuff. The default one creates new children when the game is short on children, it moves people in and out of town when the game needs more or less people in town, it gives people jobs depending on what the player is doing and it creates vampires to keep a certain amount of vampires. They visit community lots when the active family is visiting that lot. At home their moods freeze and they stand around waiting for their next interaction with the player.
The mod makes it so that NPCs have lives like the active family. They do things at home, make friends, get married and have children based on interactions they have with one another, move house when their household gets too crowded, visit community lots by themselves. They only move out of town if they become bankrupt and other people in town don't lend them money. I've been running the mod for a couple of generations in my small custom town, only one family has died out - an elderly gay couple (Something else you'd never see in the base game), the rest have been marrying among one another and having children, moving into one another's houses and all sorts. They even have enemies.
They go about their business and the player need never know about it unless they run into each other in town. The game keeps you updated on what people are doing, with what it tells you being changable in the mod options.

So should I install all of those mods, or just the story progression mod, cause honestly, that sounds amazing.
All of them I'd say. Overwatch is really helpful, it makes your game go faster and cleans it up. (The game is pretty bugged, it'll basically have homeless people, vehicles, etc, all doing nothing, just taking up space. So it removes things like that, and turns off stereos etc that are left on in other homes. For the same reason.)
So, I'd reccomend Overwatch at least. And ErrorTrap can be useful too. Then, look at the others to see if you'd really want them.
Relativity, sure, if you want to slow down time etc. By that, I mean you can basically make it so that sim-minutes take longer. The actions remain the same though. You can now fix the whole thing with sims taking an hour just to eat their food.
MasterController is basically create a sim anytime ingame, to edit anyone. And some other stuff.
Careers. If you want more careers.
Then there's a bunch more on the Nraas website.

You can just put in StoryProgression and be happy. I tend to be a mod freak. :x

Would I need to start a new game after installing, or will it work with existing saves?

I let my sister borrow my game and she lost the manual which had the key on it :smith:
My sim couple lived in a crappy little shack for their entire young adult years just so they could save up for a big plot of land.
Well they finally bought it and I had both sims quit their day jobs so they can be self employed as gardeners.

Soon he will murder someone.
Harvesting the crops. Sim style.
