Super Bunnyhop made a review.

Thoughts?
His glaring problems at the end all start with good points but turn into "I'm mad cause I'm bad" which devalues you them quite a bit, that or "this game isn't made exactly how I wanted it to be made so ehh".
It's still a good review, just a lot of personal bias and wishlist stuff could be trimmed.
On the same run that I unlocked Robot, I saw at least three caped bullet kin.
All of which got killed by the wolf companion I found. This fucking game.

As a person who played Isaic a bunch, this game has a few elements that need to be tweaked IMO.
There's not much in the way of meaningful itemization, there's not much in the way of visual representation of said itemization, and there doesn't seem to be a lot of great active items from the 20 or so hours I've played(damn you Dark Souls 3 taking up my time)
Oh I'm not saying the game is flawless or doesn't have problems that need to be ironed out, just that some of the complaints started to sound kinda ehh like "I don't like that I can't look into other rooms" or "I get hit a lot and the game punishes me for it."
That being said I'm not sure if I agree on the player characters changing like Isaac. There are a few transformations in the game (I only got the gun knight transformation once) which are cool but Isaac by the end of a lot of runs is just a ugly mess that I control. That's the point but it's something that was never super appealing to me.
I've yet to be able to get the fabled gun knight transformation which makes it a lot more interesting than getting guppy on 50% of my runs and having an auto win even if they're my only items.
I think I'm gonna bite the bullet (lel) and buy this tonight. Seems like a good deal for like 16 Canada funbucks.
Today i got Clone on a blessing of the gun run.

It was pretty good.

[sp] Still didn't beat Pilot's past though[/sp] :disappoint:
How are you supposed to fight the wall? When he does the fire down the middle I thought you were supposed to dodge over it to escape the big bullet chunks but I just get set on fire instead.

If you roll forward with the right timing you'll go through the bullet walls unscathed.
Also if you get set on fire, just keep rolling and the fire will extinguish itself. Just be sure not to roll directly into damage.
So a couple of things I've noticed from reading an extracted strings file someone posted on the subreddit. Lots of possible spoilers here, so risky clicks.
[sp]At one point(or possibly still is) there's a chance that the Shopkeeper in a shop would be replaced by a Mimic. As in, a Shopkeeper Mimic.[/sp]
[sp]There appears to be something about fighting the Resourceful Rat, and finding notes in a maze.[/sp]
A bunch of actual cut content and mentions of it'll be added post launch "if ever".
[sp]A runner, who basically challenges you to a race to the goal. Says Gotta go fast and You're too slow. Doesn't let you do it if you've already cleared the race room.[/sp]
[sp]A robo-bard. Plays music?[/sp]
[sp]Escort an "ancient pistol" through the floor to his ship. Gives a reward when you get him there.[/sp]
[sp]A "color squad" who asks you to pick one of them to lead the squad since Col. Purple died. I have no idea what this is.[/sp]
[sp]An... egg merchant?[/sp]

[sp]Power Ranger reference?[/sp]
Probably.
In other news, apparently the lyrics for the Enter the Gungeon theme was released.

I still hear "bullet bullet the roof"
I still hear "bullet bullet the roof"
Doseone has a bit of a habit of misspeaking his own lyrics, particularly when he's freestyling. I still refuse to believe that he intended to say "Venus-mouthin" during the Venus Mansion rap.
Endgame spoilers.
I had no idea that there was a [sp]6th Floor[/sp] and I was just minding my own business beating the game when [sp]a hand sprung up from the ground and took me to hell[/sp].
It scared the shit out of me.
[sp]Needlessly to say I did not prepare for this final floor and died.[/sp]
[sp]On Phase 2 of the Lich though![/sp]
I promised I wouldn't buy a game this month.
It was this or DS3 and I really can't afford DS3, so looks like I will enter the gungeon.
23 hours in and I still couldn't beat one character...
Maybe next time.
25 hours in, 70 runs, still cant reach chamber 5
Same, have 18h in and reached only the 4th chamber, like ,3-4 times and those could be successful runs.
In one of em i fucked up real big, i realized that i had synergy of 2 items too late, one of them causes blank explosion when flipping tables and second item is the one that significantly(?) increased the damage of blank explosion , and that killed me, i had good guns too.
Shotga Cola, Shotgun Coffee, Ballistic Boots, and Gungine. Meanwhile I have the Badge so a cop is chasing after me for going way past fast.
If that wasn't enough, I was given the Bloodied Scarf as well. Doing a dodge roll lets me blink straight through walls without even having to use the teleporting as you'd expect to do so.
A shame you don't really unlock anything special for having cleared the game with the secret characters other than their starting items being available in the item pool for other characters to use.
Oh come ooooon, I didn't know the Ration has to be on the ACTIVE slot for it to revive me!!!
I died on Dragun's final phase, still salty about that. I'm manually eating that thing next time.
I've only reached the Dragun once and it ripped the shit out of me
I have no idea how I was supposed to dodge all that shit
I never realized how weird it is the adjust to [sp]Melee combat[/sp] in this game after unlocking [sp]The Bullet and trying him out[/sp] I find myself dying way more now
Bullet still shoots beams, you don't have to run up and get melee on.
Bullet's the free win button of this game really.

Well he only shoots beams at full health which I'm still getting a grip on him so I uh take some really dumb damage sometimes :( That said he may be the most powerful character in the beginning

There's a good reason why blanks are limited and bullet-deleting weapons and items give you a higher curse. Dodgeroll fully acknowledges that anything that can remove the bullet from bullet hell had better be sparse enough to not trivialize the gameplay, so they punish you accordingly to ensure that there's some semblance of a difficulty curve.
Blasphamy is the only exception because it comes at zero ammo cost, has no reload time and instead just has its re-swing delay, and even has a ranged form of attack. The only thing keeping it from being absolutely dominant like melee is in Nuclear Throne is the fact that the melee range is actually pretty horrible for combat against bosses where the bullet hell is at its logical extremes. That and you actually require direct line-of-sight for swings to deal damage, you can't swing at things through walls for easy kills.
All this noted, Bullet is one of the silliest inclusions that goes from 0 to 100 in the fastest I've seen in the game since he can function into the lategame with just his base weapon. It's a bit relieving to have a cheery romp through the Gungeon every now and then instead of the usual suspects where poor keys and items can make the early-mid game into a drag.
Goddamn Bloodied Scarf is amazing, but it goes against muscle memory and I got it on an otherwise crappy run.
