the characters have different final bosses but they still don't really play any differently from each other, with the exception of the two secret characters. another big problem with the game i've heard about a lot is that it was balanced using feedback from professional streamers, making the game pretty unbalanced for the average player. upgrades are scarce and bosses are bullet sponges. it could do with some tweaking IMO
that being said, i still love the game. it's a total blast to play.
also idk what you're talking about but nuclear throne runs flawlessly for me and anyone i've talked to about it. i'd definitely recommend it

I think they can spawn even if you have literally just started playing, it's just ridiculously unlikely.
To make them common, kill your past. I killed all my pasts and had 2-3 show up every run (from floors 1-6)

Oh god well looks like I may not get the Bullet anytime soon I can hardly make it to the 4th floor
Been playing this game for about 6-7 hours so far and its pretty sweet. My only complaint is that some bosses are waaaaaay too bulletspongy (especially chamber 1 bosses).
I almost just avenged Manny but my dodge roll didn't work on time so I died T~T

So first Dragun Killer run I had set up I had poison and fire bullets and a rail cannon. Got to floor 4's boss the High Priest and he killed me because his random bullets kept spawning ontop of me making it, quite literally, impossible to dodge. There was actually nothing I could do. I was mad but tried again and was rewarded with some powerful guns- after scrapping the treadnaught I boarded the elevator and... my game crashed.
I'm starting to really get demoralized.
the AU gun is a very good friend indeed (shame i didnt get any ammo pickups and then got destoryed by the next boss)

Also you have to beat the Dragun at least once for the caped bullet to start showing up. Don't gotta fix any of the pasts.
MANNY HAS BEEN AVENGED! Wow that boss is not hard AT ALL he only has like 3 attacks that are all super easy to dodge. Protip Blanks are your friend in some of the times where he spams the attacks! Also Pro Tip the Orc guy is at the breach and sells you stuff like Ox And Cadence he sells realistic items like real machine guns and such

The Composite Gun is also pretty beastly. Its a two shot that deals high damage. I got in a Marine run where I also picked up a massive reload boost from a curse statue, so it'd pretty much reload instantly. It was insane.

Yeah it's really good also the Gun that shoots blanks IS A GOD SEND! 11 ammo per blank omfg so good against the tank
I just had a run where I never got an ammo drop or ammo in the shop after the 2nd chamber
As you can imagine, that run did not go very well.

Do you prefer a breakneck game where both sides are overpowered but die in a hit or two or do you prefer a more methodical game with (debatable) more complex gameplay and more gun variety but less character building?
I'll just say that the game is amazing and I love it too much for what it is. I dislike nothing about the game, really. I like pretty much everything about it, it's trully amazing and a big surprise as well! The one thing that bothers me is that I have yet to figure out how to spot secret rooms.

If the bullets spawn on top of you during the High Priest fight you are likely standing at a bad place.

By the way, the orc guy sells some really good shit, the m16 is amazing. The kill quests also unlock some good items.
