Have they said anything about how this will be priced?
since it has another boost, this time to 100, probably the same as WoD :/
You obtain your Artifact early on in the Legion experience. This is the weapon you will use throughout the expansion. You will not get weapon drops in Legion. Something that wasn't mentioned during the reveal is that each Artifact has a number of Relic slots, which will determine its raw item stats (DPS, ilvl, etc.) and modifiers to the traits you've chosen, so the Artifact's stats will still improve as you defeat bosses.
I don't know. I think it sounds boring as hell.
Update: Artifacts can still be transmogrified into other items! Other items cannot be transmogrified into Artifacts.
And this doesn't make up for it at all. It's the same problem I have with heirlooms. Transmogging it isn't the same as finding and earning new equipment. Ever since they introduced heirlooms I've always thought that they should have been just tokens kept in your bag instead and have them simply give you a buff that increases the experience gained so that you can still strive to find new equipment. Cool item drops from a boss? Oh wait I don't need it in fact I don't need anything because I have heirlooms and will have until I hit the max level. If there are little to no new weapons besides the artifacts in Legion, do they expect us to just transmog to equipment from old content or have everybody run around with the same weapon? It's practically less content but no this time it's okay because we're talking about ~artefacts~. Would you feel the same if it was just a crude copper sword that you got to upgrade? Maybe it's just me but I think it sounds like bullsh!t.
That's fucking stupid but I guess you don't have to worry about a weapon then
Also stuff will be happening at Karazhan probably. And Dalaran has some ancient purposes that weren't understood and is being affected by being so close to the tomb of sargeras. The more I read the more I like the expansion. Oh and Survival Hunters WILL be a melee spec with a pet, Beast Mastery remains ranged with pet, and Marksmanship will lose the pet alltogether. All the good info to be found here if you want to see for yourself.
That's kind of annoying, I think BM makes much more sense for pet+melee. [editline]7th August 2015[/editline] Nice that they're making professions bigger again.
That's fucking stupid but I guess you don't have to worry about a weapon then
I guess they want your weapon to be this big cool character thing that grows with you, in a much more involved way that just scaling new weapons dropping will probably be replaced with new shit for your artifact dropping

It's always funny watching people react to legit leaks going "lol no that's just silly"
The guy who leaked that said there will also be new race/class combos .
The guy who leaked that said there will also be new race/class combos .
great more lore breakers like night elf mages then? edit: I read up on the lore, I hadn't realised that some lore had been written regarding it, I assumed it was just a hamfisted gameplay change Apologies for being dumb
great more lore breakers like night elf mages then?
Night Elf mages are specifically Shen'dralar. They've been in the game since launch [editline]7th August 2015[/editline]
if more races were getting more classes I'm sure they would've put that in their initial announcement.
They might be saving some info for Blizzcon
I think a Tauren rogue would be fun to play.
The guy who leaked that said there will also be new race/class combos .
Please be gnome hunters
I'm hoping the shadow priest sub-specs get fixed. Void entropy had so much potential.
From the Icy Veins interview:
the Survival Hunter 'spear' Artifact was brought up. In Legion, Survival Hunters will be a melee spec that utilizes a pet. To differentiate specializations, the developers will try to de-homogenize the classes. Further to this, Beast Mastery Hunters will fight at range with a pet, while Marksmanship Hunters will fight at range with NO PET.
Looks like they are changing up hunters big time.
From the Icy Veins interview: Looks like they are changing up hunters big time.
Are they taking out Lone Wolf then? I like the idea of melee, but I loath having a hunter pet. I might just have to go to Marksmen.
From the Icy Veins interview: Looks like they are changing up hunters big time.
I hope they also change Mage/Rogues to a similar degree, they feel very samey between specs.
Night Elf mages are specifically Shen'dralar. They've been in the game since launch [editline]7th August 2015[/editline] They might be saving some info for Blizzcon
changed my post
skilling up in vanilla wow is so satisfying I have rank three of a lot of spells AND I FEEL INVINCIBLE [editline]7th August 2015[/editline]
From the Icy Veins interview:
Oh my stars that is fucking awesome
Wait, then how the hell do you level stuff like Enchanting? Doesn't it rely on getting stuff like random greens? Unless then your only way to do so is dungeon blues, which seems like a terrible idea. Of course i know there's armor drops, but i recall weapons having other materials or something. It's been a while.
Nah, at this point disenchanting anything will give you the same stuff. It just depends on the ilvl of the item and RNG for what you get.
... What. [editline]7th August 2015[/editline] So now we have heirlooms which we use from level 1 to max level, and at max level we will now be using the same weapon all the time as well. [editline]7th August 2015[/editline] Getting new equipment drop from bosses is like one of the most exciting things about this game.
Eh, I disagree. Loot is just a means to an end, which is completing the content. Sometimes an item is really cool, like the archimonde trinkets, or especially this, but usually it's just a piece of stats that will get transmogged over.
Melee with pet doing 10% damage sounds a lot weirder than ranged with pet doing 10% damage to me.
im going to miss my hunter. i hate playing melee, and marks is my favorite spec. might switch to BM though, cause having a pet is cool, and i really dont want to make a melee character e: lol i just realized that i misread and marks is still ranged. survival is melee. all is cool in the world :sax:
I don't like the idea of using a pet on my hunter so it will be really nice to see a spec designed around not having a pet in Legion.
I just want to shoot stuff while my pet tanks without going full BM. [editline]7th August 2015[/editline] http://eyesofthebeast.com/2015/08/legion-new-hunter-roles-confirmed/ MM gets bow and BM gets the gun!? BLIZZAAAAAAARD
They already butchered Marksmanship in WoD, so taking our pets away seems like just another step in shitting on anyone who wants to play MM and buffing BM as usual
Does anyone feel like the Horde's treatment as a faction has dropped sharply? You got racials which put you at a statistical disadvantage at all times during PvP, you had two entire expansions dedicated to demonizing the orcs as a race and their little niche in the faction, first by taking Garrosh and turning him into a pseudoHitler villain then by giving you free reign to slaughter every single one of the old Horde's heroes. It just feels like two massive insults to any Horde players that stuck to those grass roots of orcish savagery and indomitable character. Garrosh was this two-edged sword type of leader that could've had so much development, but he was instead slammed into being a 2D villain with very unclear goals and extremely questionable writing. Thrall is now supposed to be your racial leader even though he is literally a green human, down to the eyebrows and all. I'm probably alone in this, but I really don't like the new direction that the game takes for the Horde. I like this new expansion's Burning Legion content, but I don't really wanna go back to a faction that has lost all meaning to me. Doesn't help that all of my friends also abandoned it entirely and either dropped the game or transfered to human to abuse the racials.
I just want faction warfare. I know, there's PvP zones in just about every area, but that's just it. They feel like PvP zones. As far as the story goes, we're basically just helping the opposing side to fight a force between us all while making pouty faces about it. I was actually rooting for Jaina in the MoP cinematic, but then everything just boiled down to "hey lol don't do dumb shit and we'll be best buddies"
I havent played in like 10 years lol Worth it coming back for this?
There's a whole lot of content that'll be new to you, but it will suck to go it alone, if you can get some friends to play through with you it should definitely be worth it.

I'm an Alliance man myself but yeah Horde seem to be getting shafted a bit. Sylvanas is a dick, Cairne is dead, Goblins aren't really loyal or expanded on, Blood Elves suck, but Vol'jin is a boss so hopefully he can make the Horde cooler as the leader.
Would be the first time Alliance had the main stage in many many years.
