They've basically figured out how to sell gold. I like it. Now I can buy gold and not feel like I'm doing something illegal.
Also I guarantee the forums are going to throw a fit, they always do.
The comments section is overwhelmingly positive so far.
There's always one crazy guy that will call it pay to win. Just wait.
I'm almost back up to 100k gold, and I never spent it on anything big, but I'm weird like that. I dunno if I'll buy game time with it.
If it's a set price.. I'd be happy but considering that you can sell it on the ah means that it probably won't be sold for much.

It's not player defined, Blizz are setting the prices based on supply/demand, which is a bit strange actually.
So you could potentially be spending more on a sub then.
I mean since you can't buy a sub with gold at the moment really ANY price you pay is how much a sub costs, so until they set a standard there's really nothing to compare it to, unless you compare it to gold seller prices.
When do you think this feature will be implemented? Next patch?
we'll probably lose a raid tier for it
honestly i'd probably give it a few patches, maybe the next major patch
6.2 or 6.3, probably
Is it sad that even during the early stages of WoD the main thing I'm looking forward to is the next expansion announcement come this Blizzcon?
Ah, there they are.
Blizzard straight up advertises it with "I need gold" - LOL
hit me with downvotes I dare you

you know, back in the day when I needed gold for a mechano-hog I grinded mats, used my profs to make money, and eventually made enough to get one.
now? just open your wallet!

"oh, it's just pets on the store"
"oh, it's just mounts on the store"
"oh, it's just level boosts on the store"
"oh, it's just buying gold on the store"
slippery slope is indeed slippery

I find it interesting that they say the real money cost of the token will be announced at a later date. I have a feeling that this is the first step in them raising the monthly sub cost.
I can see them selling this token for a few dollars more then a normal monthly sub. Then in a few months just raising the monthly sub cost to match the token...

I really hope they have some 11th hour change or heart and do not go live with this awful idea. Introducing more pay to win options into the game is a slippery slope towards killing the game.

Having Gold=Advantage, I think anyone can agree that is true.
Now,
Cash=Gold.
But, that means,
Cash=Advantage.
I don't think there is any way to really argue it, other than that the effects *won't be that drastic*
I'm still trying to hit the max level cap. :v:
I don't have many blocks of gaming time due to studying, and when I take breaks studying I know I'll get too distracted and lose track of time if I play WoW so I just fart around FP for a few, and the cycle continues itself.
Regarding the comments above, I like to interpret those kinds of statements as fans who just really love the game and don't want it to change radically into something they might not like as much. I feel like that's one of the challenges developing MMOs; the game itself changes so much as time goes by. As developers, you have to be careful of what you change and not overly alter the original 'feel' of the game. I think a lot of the folks expressing their displeasure are simply worried about the game.
I'm personally not too concerned, however. Blizzard has kept WoW not only afloat, but really fun after all these years and I feel like they have as good of an idea as any as to guide the game as it continues to change down the line.

It's a good thing imho, you cant mess up the economy, it's fucked as it is, at best we might drain some gold out of it which is good, when Linkuya started, the state of level 10 greens being like 50g worried me.

And Wildstar stole from the blitzkrieg.
I've never seen a game bomb so hard.
Wildstar had a great setting, a great combat system, a great style, a great selection of zones, fun quests, really a lot of great fundamentals. It was just a handful of major mistakes that brought it down.
The biggest flaw is they took the word of all the people saying "WE WANT THE OLD SCHOOL WOW EXPERIENCE BACK" and then as it turned out, nobody really wanted it. They tried to appeal to the hardcore MMO audience, but the hardcore MMO audience is already invested in their MMOs of choice. They needed a way to make their own dedicated hardcore audience, but failed to facilitate it. It had little-to-no appeal to the casual audience, and they're really the first step to making invested players. Without them they had only a very tenuous audience left: The few people that jumped ship from big MMOs like WoW or lapsed MMO players that wanted to play "THE NEXT BIG THING", but people like that have a history of dropping it shortly after... and look what happened. Everyone I knew who played it were either WoW players or people who were MMO players that wanted to get back into it. But none of them found enough of a reason to commit to Wildstar and either went back to WoW or, in some cases, nothing.
Such a shame, I wanted that game to be great. I just couldn't bring myself to keep playing. Felt bad when I cancelled my sub considering how much hype I had for it and how much I enjoyed the betas and the early game... How much I loved the setting and the style... I always hoped they'd go F2P, I mean SWTOR did and things only went uphill for them since, but seems like they're either not in a position where they feasibly can, or are just too stubborn to do it. I don't know which is worse.
My friend tried to take a selfie in a BG today, one person on the Alliance was down for it.

I thought it came out okay
At any rate, I feel like I fucked up. I leveled through Kalimdor+EC and BC and then boosted past WOTLK, CATA, and MOP... and now I feel like I irreparably screwed over my first WoW experience. I realize now that I missed out on a lot of stuff that I can't really go back to. I got to WOD content and didn't have the same drive I did before. I felt like I didn't earn it... I guess because I didn't.
:c
Should I feel bad or am I just getting myself down over nothing?
Ah, there they are.
Just like everything else that came from the blizzard store the vast majority of players won't give a shit and any impact will be negligible.

I don't think it's that big of a deal. I mean, if you really really want to experience that content then just head over there on your current character, or maybe make a new character and power level through the content you already did with a friend or two.

Well its funny to me because the most recognisable version is EvE's PLEX that shows its a pretty great thing, it's so weird that person went to WS for their example.

He probably didn't mean it seriously, TBH. A lot of people made fun of Wildstar for taking things from WoW. He was probably just reversing it to be facetious.
That or he's just a silly twit.
Finally got exalted with the trolls so I could buy a raptor. Yippeeeeee

I suppose that's true. There's nothing really stopping me from going back or just making a character.

Also, what's the deal with Goblin Shamans? I was kinda thinking that they'd be cool considering I want nothing more to be a Goblin Tinker type, and they sorta have those mechanical totems...
But then it struck me how little sense the idea of a Goblin Shaman makes considering how little regard they hold for the environment...

It's the latter, his tweets are all a stream of ... mmoc forum user.
So WoW EU just went down to pot. apparently lots of people's payments were stuck at around the 27th and didn't go through, combined with that Virgin media situation about people not being able to hold connections....it just seems pretty iffy.

Excerpt from speech delivered by renown Goblin Mage Nazzix:
Goblin shamans make deals with the elements, creating contracts with them for their services. Goblin engineers are valued as prospectors for the oil that fuels Goblin engineering. Their ability to contort and control natural resources earns them the title of Environmental Engineers.

Hmm, suppose that makes sense.
Why people choose to play as female Blood Elf:
[T]http://i.imgur.com/2pSK6va.jpg[/T]
I've never really thought about it, but if I had to choose I would probably say female Trolls are the prettiest members of the Horde.
And Taurens for the prettiest male members of the Horde.
