What level are you? Go run all the raids from Wrath to Cata and sell everything, that should net you like 3-6k, easy.
I think I bought the book for like 10k on my warlock. Never did finish it. Fuck that last fight.
It doesn't scale to 100 so it shouldn't be too difficult, you can probably kill him before the felhunters come out if your ilvl is high enough, and that means there are like zero mechanics for you to do.
It's not too hard to farm the warlock book if you are a warlock. 1 hour of farming a day for 2 days and I got one. But that was with all the rare elite mobs up.

The Garrison is amazing for income. There's a lot of different ways to make money with it. Especially now with the new traders.

Are shadow priests poopers because they look like lots of fun and the priest forum is complaining about how broken they are but I'm not sure if I can trust the wow forums

Always take the forums with a few solar masses of salt.
That being said, I think shadow priests are in a gray area at the moment. I haven't seen any shadow priest in particular do amazing single target DPS, and I am not sure where their AoE stands. It never felt amazing when I tried it offspec.

Depends on what level you're playing at. Shadow Priests are probably absolutely fine for normal/some HC but anything higher than that you're gunna start seeing some serious disparity between numbers compared to other classes.
Quite frankly, if it plays as fun then nothing else should matter.
About the spine fight, the way I do it is to just stay on one side. When 9 or more of the bloods have spawned I kill them in the middle next to the piece of armor that has to be removed, then go back to my spot and kill the opposite tentacle as soon as deathwing begins to roll. The nuclear bomb mob runs through the bloods, gets empowered, and then after it is killed it explodes just before the next roll.
After many previous attempt, I have finally managed to move past the Butcher in heroic Highmaul and even managed to one-shot everything until Ko'ragh.

Late to the party, but soloing Spine is pretty easy for me as a petless hunter. I just run around in circles until the amalgamation hits 9 and then I blow it up at the plates. Pretty easy.
Not a single wins in bgs for me in the last 3 days. And overall, i have done about 150 bgs, and i can count the victory on my hand...
I think this is badly designed, they alway wins, so they gear up 3x faster than us so it just get worse and worse over time...

Leaning toward Shaman, even though last I heard they were weak. I just always loved the idea of Shamans, both in terms of theme and gameplay. That said Hunter always interested me, and I'm used to having pets around as a Warlock.
