Undead is my spirit animal.
It's sad, but I sort of wish I had bit the bullet and started playing WoW much much earlier. I had played Warcraft 3 and the Frozen Throne, and I think I would have really enjoyed playing WoW during WotLK. Not really the same thing to like, go back to it after it's all happened I guess.

I have no idea why I stopped, but I'm sad I missed the expansion after hearing how great it was.

The very best video game music can tell the story of the enviroment you're in with no words, and boy did they do that.

However you weren't there for: Stupid groupfinder, gearscore, veteran player exodus after ToC's release, ICC content lasting forever. Time for nostalgia: There's something about this song that always brings me back to the good times I had on my server. Winning Wintergrasp and waiting to find a group for VoA 25 or going around and ganking horde/farming herbs/doing a daily in WG comes to mind which in turn reminds me of all the fun stuff that happened around the same time. Or how about the time you first went to HF after you quested a bit in BT and heard this when the boat landed? [editline]30th May 2015[/editline] I'm crying tears.
One of my strongest WoW memories is flying through the mountains in Stormpeaks with no sound but the engine of my Gyrocopter and the part of the Soundtrack with those female vocals.
Guh. Reading all these, remembering all the stuff I've seen and loved as I've played the game really reminds me why I like it so much. Really is a wonderful game. Also, Grizzly Hills tunes for life.
My strongest memories in Vanilla involves questing in Duskwood with a random Gnome I grouped up with and we explored some crypts. I remember he squeezed into one of those burial chambers where I (a Dwarf) wouldn't fit. And entering Tanaris for the first time through the Shimmering Flats passage was amazing. First visit to Maraudon was also very memorable. I also remember I was overjoyed when I got my Valor shoulders from Upper Blackrock Spire. In The Burning Crusade, questing in Outland wasn't nearly as breathtaking but the endgame content made up for it. Wrath of The Lich King had some serious atmosphere going on but I didn't play a lot of WoW during that time so I didn't get to enjoy much of the endgame content. The levelling experience was great though.
My favorite vanilla memory: Going to menethil and the horde had laid waste the entire place, but eventually some alliance called backup and cleared out about 10 of the horde that were camping the place and I helped kill some UD mage that was trying to swim away towards the sunken boat nearby. I met a level 41 warrior there and we came friends (I was mostly begging him to help me with a quest lol) for awhile until he quit sometime in TBC. No love for dwarves? :(
Right, deleted that Night Elf, went for Worgen Rouge instead. Having a much better time since I love how english the Worgen are, and Rouge makes it much more fun. Still juggling between ESO and WoW though.
How does Excess Potion of Accelerated Learning work? Can I use it in a dungeon and just kinda get more exp as a healer?
Is warlock any fun? Im wondering wheter to make a Orc Warloc or a Tauren Druid
No love for dwarves? :(
Dun Morogh and The Loch are absolute trash starting zones in vanilla. Took me an hour to get Felix's Fucking Tools. I could have tram'd over to Elwynn but fuck that. I also wanted to recreate my first character on an old account I don't have anymore.
Is warlock any fun?
Yes
I've reached the level where everything is a power struggle. I've been on the Shaman quest 'Fire Something' for an hour now and have made no progress. It's great.
So what is it, someone managed to make a classic WoW? Do I need to pay money for it or no? Because I'd be interested if only to see if my bias against Vanilla were misguided. Also just finished the Worgen starter quest line. Goblins starter quest line is still more fun, but Worgen had some moments. Couldn't bear the thought of doing any more quests in Darnassus, so I sailed to Stormwind to do quest in Human zones.
Ok, those questions were answered, new question. Are the FPers here playing Classic WoW on Horde or Alliance? Or Both?
Ok, those questions were answered, new question. Are the FPers here playing Classic WoW on Horde or Alliance? Or Both?
At least a dozen that I've seen on Nostalrius, pretty even split for the factions. I'm on Alliance myself.
Figured, I installed WoW classic and I'm playing now. I'm a Dwarf Hunter named Pvtmartin. Also man did Vanilla WoW always have slow feeling combat?
Me, Linkuya, Kenji and Simzboy are on horde
I am also on horde - the server seems to be stacked on horde a bit
I am also on horde - the server seems to be stacked on horde a bit
Jokes on you! Less targets to kill and longer queue times for you!
The good news is it's a PVP server too, so at some point we're going to get a screen shot of one of us teebagging the other. then shit's gunna get real. [sp]i woke up and immediately booted up the vanilla client whats wrong with me help[/sp]
