Why is Winston so fucking bad.
Literally pointless, I have never seen him be more than a distraction.
His gun has two modes, it's either about as effective as a hairdryer that needs to reload every other second or if you make he right sacrifice to the RNG gods on the third Thursday of every month then it becomes a fucking deathstar.
I was playing as Tracer fighting off a Winston in such close quarters that we might as well have been conjoined twins and I managed to kill him losing barely any health.
I'm not a big Winston player but I think it needs something changed because I should have died and so should a lot of people he was firing at.
Winston is fine...He has his place and he is incredibly effective if played well against the right team, like any other character. The biggest problem with Winston that I see is that very few people play him properly. He gets dismissed as bad because people just spawn then launch themselves face first into the enemy team and get destroyed.
Also if you land his leap properly it does 50 damage, so on a 200hp character if you land next to them, melee them for another 50 then you have to hold mouse 1 with them on your screen for <2 seconds to kill them. You can control the leap by holding S to slow yourself down mid air.
Is anyone else on the 'too scared to join comp as i'm afraid i'd be a waste of a slot and get shit wrong' train with me? ;-;
If you haven't done qualifiers just don't worry and get on with it because you will often be put against lower levels or not so good players as well. I get in this same mindset for a lot of games but I did 10 of my qualifiers on the night S1 ended and realized that I was actually enjoying comp far more than quickplay (The 1 character limit is amazing too, I can't stand cheesy strats on quickplay)
Literally just bit the bullet and jump into it, if you aren't terrible in quickplay you aren't going to be terrible in comp because you should roughly be against people your skill rating anyway.
I always had this mindset when taking a break from CS:GO/DOTA2 ranked or when I had stopped playing conquest on Smite and the meta had completely changed. Every single time one day I decided to just try it and realized most of the worry is in your head and goes away with playtime.
Symmetra really feels like a wasted slot

Yeah when you're using analogies like this to describe a hero, that's a pretty good sign you don't really know how to use that hero.
Unless if your team sucks, imo the teleporter is a powerful ulti for defense since walking from spawn to the battle takes 20-30 seconds.
No that 63% competitive win rate is just from people picking her by accident and then switching, and I never once got a multikill with her teleport.

My only problem with winston are how pathetically bad he gets when fighting anyone with Armor.
He doesnt deserve that.
Symmetra really feels like a wasted slot
She's similar to characters like Torbjorn where they can be very effective if your team is already doing well, but if your team is doing badly they become dead weight and would be better taken by more damage.
Even symmetra attack can be extremely effective as having a teleporter quite close to the final point or cart can make the difference between winning that final push due to teammates coming back in and being wiped off.
My biggest peeve is when people pick symmetra and they take 3 minutes to get the first teleporter up, and/or place it in an awful spot where it gets destroyed instantly. If you are lucky you can get a teleporter up in 30 seconds, but usually it should be around the 1 - 1.5 minute mark the first TP should go down.
90% of being good at Winston is knowing when to play him, not so much how.
On the topic of balancing can Winston get some more primary Ammo? It absolutely sucks to be on the verge of killing a squishy character like Ana when all of a sudden you run out of ammo and have to retreat because you're at a massive disadvantage without your Tesla Cannon.

I can confirm this, I've used that in Volskaya Industries and Temple of Anubis, the defending team didn't survive. But the most scariest thing is the ninja Symmetra, bringing her team somewhere you do not expect.

Quick Match sucks so much now after I played Ranked for a bit before it ended. One team in Quick always goes tryhard, picks comp or spams cancer picks which turns the game into a one sided stomp, while other team is always not giving a fuck and losing. Games in Quick are practically consisting of losses, below 50% winrate says something is really wrong. The winrate should always be equalized, not to mention all this unequal level matching, putting fresh players vs seasoned players. I wish there was a casual comp type queue, without all this hero stacking. I'm pretty sure quick is fun if you play with your friends, having voice communication and just having shits and giggles, but for someone that plays solo, it's not fun, especially versus premade groups that will try to win games no matter what.
I know it's last page but I fucking love we've come full circle enough that were calling McCree underpowered
I know it's last page but I fucking love we've come full circle enough that were calling McCree underpowered
People have always sort of viewed his kit as worthless and not meshing well with each other.
In which I still think there are heroes who have it way worse than him.
I know it's last page but I fucking love we've come full circle enough that were calling McCree underpowered
it's not really that McCree is underpowered, it's more like he's just incredibly poorly designed
like you can still rip shit up as mccree with just his revolver, but if you try using all of his abilities you won't really gain anything. the feels really inconsistent and your time is better spent just lining up a good shot, the roll is utterly useless since fan the hammer got nerfed, and FtH itself might as well be McCree using his hands to tickle the person your pointing it at
so it's a damn good thing that his basic revolver is so good

Melee deals 35 damage, not 50.
I'm glad you dorks are stuck in quickplay
Welcome to my fucking world
Now you guys know why it's not fun to just want to play one game and the enemy team goes all Winston because DUDE HARAMBE LMAO
Or the constant widowmakers and Hanzo
or the never-ending bastions
the team composition that makes as much sense as the plot of metal gear solid
I think overall that McCree is just poorly designed filler hero, the ult is practically the same as 76's, except 76's ult can wreck shit since you have mobility and self-sustain with healing field and if your team has Ana then it's match made in heaven, they nerfed 76 and buffed McCree so that he could be played at all because 76 was just too good and much easier. Overall they designed two heroes that try to take their own jobs from each other and one has to suffer for it.
I hope the summer skins will be available next year. No one likes stuff you can only get once for a designated period of time, unless you have another way to get them like trading or buying them.

iirc, they said they would be
A year without owning American McCree is not a year worth living.
And it's just going to get harder to get when they add 100 more new items to unbox.
Sometimes I really wish my team would realize that pushing onto the point with ultimates is a thing.
Apparently playing on US servers whilst being in EU is better than being in EU servers.
At least maybe someone will talk for once
Finally I have a good internet connection again, but I've lost an entire week worth of drops. I only have three days to drop the Tracer skin.
Please pray to RNGesus for me, brothers

It's almost like constant steamrolls weren't enough for the matchmaker. Now I have to get all teh salty teammates and enemies to play with

I like to abuse his cooldowns to get around this weakness. Your jump will be off cooldown when you run out of ammo so you just jump in the air and reload in the air. This way you can maximize damage with the jump and be harder to hit.
I think overall that McCree is just poorly designed filler hero, the ult is practically the same as 76's,
It's almost the exact opposite, 76 is about constant sustained damage while running around at full speed dodging enemies and using items, while Mcree is about sudden burst damage while standing still.
I'm starting to realize that unless you use "Group up here" on me I tend to go one man army after awhile. I really need to fucking fix that. (Unless I'm Lucio in which case my team can't get me off them)
Like I'll start being a team player and whatnot, will try to group up but at some point something in me just breaks and "I can totally hold the line while my team gets back to me this will work."
I justify it because I usually get golds in elims/objective kills etc but starting to realize that it doesn't matter
Is there a game-arranging thing I'm missing out on here? I'd love to get into games with people who actually know what they're doing...
