I was playing Overwatch earlier and saw Lassiz (the streamer & master level player) then I noticed I locked in Zarya before he could and said "Lassiz, did you want to play Zarya? You're better than I am." he said "Nah man, you do you." and then I proceeded to lose us the game...I donated $5 later to balance out the bad karma. There was an attempt and that's all that matters...oh and it was on the new map Eichenwalde, which I had only played once before then.

On right you can see how old each thread is. (other threads are bumped with new posts so they say something like 40 seconds etc)
What abilities do you all think Sombra will have? See her as a defensive or offensive hero? Since she is a hacker I can see her disabling abilities and controlling tech.
Maybe her ult disables all abilities and all weaponry of all nearby enemies for 6 seconds.
Really? I honestly have not noticed.
TF2 gibs have spoiled me when it comes to gore I suppose.
I almost wish Overwatch had more gore in it, because it could be pretty creative with how you destroy the other players. Lasers, explosives, guns, swords, wierd sticky death beam things (Symettra's gun).
There's a whole lot of ways people could get mutilated realistically, but I guess Blizzard decided it didn't fit with the theme, which I can definitely agree with.
No gore keeps the game looking nice and clean, I'm honestly used to it by now.
Besides, watching people being sent flying by explosives is the funniest thing.

Imo gore doesn't at ALL fill the theme
the characters are all animated charming superheroes members of a GI JOE style super squad
TF2 had a lot more sardonic humor to it, so the surprising gore worked well contrasting to the graphics
But overwatch is all about optimism and heroism , and also really would seeing Dva or Lucio get dismembered make anyone happy?
I started to troll with Roadhog, bait players near edges, jump off the cliff to suicide, always hook players with me and pull them down, do this repeatedly to the same player over and over. I just have to amuse myself during those quick matches.
I know it would be graphic intensive but I kind of wish Symmetra's portals were see through from the entrance so you can tell if a enemy team is swarming it and it would be pointless to go through, or if it's just le epic troll Symmetra putting it near a cliffside.
Would also be nice if going through it auto-applied the extra shields to you.

Would it really be that intensive? Couldn't you do it with another camera?

Absolutely.

Absolutely not.
But the other heroes sure go ahead.
How to fix bastion:
Significantly speed up both sentry and recon deployments. Half a second
Allow movement during transformation back to recon.
Faster health regeneration
Maybe a small hp boost for his ult.
This turns in into a stationary defender into a more mobile flanker and surprise defender. Being able to move spots quickly to trick the enemy team and keep them on their toes.
I didn't know RG4 had an alt

Nah. The characters in Overwatch also don't feel as disposable as say the TF2 mercs. It'd be weird to see them getting gored.
Except for Bastion, they're fine with tearing him into fine bitsized pieces when he dies.
Are blizzard really going to tease me for one whole year that i dint get the mercy summer spray? i thought they would atleast hide the things you didnt get until the next summer games :disappoint:

Isn't a "Respawn" machine canonical in tf2? They're probably not even afraid to die.
dva definitely,
no
People who say "ez" on either team are so annoying. Can't we just say "well that was a fun game everyone". I dislike negativity :pudge:

It's not. There's a fan theory about respawn being canon, but it really doesn't fit with comics. There is a "life-extender machine", but that's reserved for the big non-player story characters and it turns them into horrible old near-dead monsters.

Honestly it feels like in Overwatch that it's actually more likely that respawn is canon. In TF2 nobody ever acknowledges that they've respawned (unless they use a special revive ability in MvM, which isn't really the same thing), while in Overwatch people always have some kind of quip when they respawn, like "Back, and ready for more!" or "The wonders of modern medicine!".

Yeah, but nothing about the game of Overwatch is canon as said by the devs.
I've played the game for over 3 months yet I still feel like ults don't add anything to the game and it would probably be better off without them.
They don't feel like a core part to any of the heroes, more like tacked on flashy stuff that's usually just a kill more button.

They certainly become game changers when they need to be.

How have you played this game for 3 months and not notice Zarya's ult is the best shit ever?
Ults bring an extra level of strategy that TF2, or the majority of shooters for that matter, don't have. Overwatch would be far less unique without them.
Oh, I didn't mean that they don't do anything. They sure get a lot of stuff done. But right now the game boils down to poking enough that you have your ults up and then maybe trying to so something. I don't like that the deciding fights are just an ultfest where everyone blows their ult into one pile.

They actually reduce your strategy options to:
1. Wait that everyone on your team has their ults
2. There is no other option

They're absolutely critical to get shit done and a good team can coordinate multiple ults together that synergise well.

Or you can decide from either:
- Going ham
- Save them until your opponent makes a mistake
In casual games I agree with you, but in competitive there's the question when you should ult and how much impact it'll do depending on your and your team's decision.

Ultimates don't do much on their own. Most games still revolve around using your abilities well in the right places, and picking off key targets.
Besides that, it's often a good idea -not- to blow all ults at once. You should save them 'til you can get the most out of them, like making sure the enemy healer doesn't make your efforts a big waste.
It adds a lot of suspense to an often even match, and feels really satisfying. Especially once you get into high level play where people don't just press Q as soon as possible.

Professional players have brought up their opinion on ults and it's generally that it's too easy to teamwipe with them. Why attack without them when you can hang back and farm up your ults and then just steamroll by popping them all at the same time?

I get your point, the most effective strategy is usually to have your whole team ult at once and that can be repetitive. But there is skill in synchronizing ults and performing well enough to get them more frequently than the enemy
