I think it depends if you get on the Highlights at the end of the round and where you are on the scoreboard.
Even more bizarre then, I've gotten a highlight a few times and am often top 5
I think rhe site says you need to play the entire game, and it's random.
Battlepacks are different to previous games though
GMG sent out my key this morning as well.
TotalBiscuit's video on the singleplayer is out, pretty much confirms like other battlefield games get the game only for multiplayer as per usual

And yet literally everyone in this thread confirms that the singleplayer is really good. I think I'll take the opinion of the majority over one guy.

I think it's garbage, just been too afraid to say anything really. Seeing as a lot of people here are gushing over it.
I'm not being bitter about it or anything. Just saying how it is.

Why don't you like it? Just not interesting or were you expecting a more realistic story? Not judging (or meaning to judge at least), I just think people who were expecting it to be anything other than a Battlefield campaign in WWI were being silly.
As yes, the fabled GDI Model 8.

Yeah, literally everyone, I'm glad I'm a non-entity here then, I totally didn't refund the game at one point because I was that disappointed, I have re-bought it now for a cheaper price so it feels like it's more worth it for just the multiplayer, for the singleplayer, given how much it was advertised and the intro was, it's just too fucking short and doesn't have enough oomph behind any of the stories, like I did like 'Friends in High Places', that was pretty damn good, playing as a cheeky American who's telling his story, but it was really short, the longest part for me was going across 'No Man's Land' because you really couldn't just fucking leg it across, and also the last part of that story, with the airships.
Overall it just wasn't as good as advertised, for me at least anyway but, whatever, you can completely ignore me again if you like.

I like the format, and it is good for a Battlefield game.
The writing and plot devices were tiresome, along with the actual gameplay. Cliche and pandering.
I haven't really composed an argument as of yet. I suppose I was expecting either a truly harrowing and heartbreaking experience or either a romantic globetrot with a certain boom and campness.
(Maybe such things were hampered due to the game's sort of limited mechanics.)
It doesn't really do either of those clearly or very well. It bounces loosely inbetween. And coupled with the fact that throughout the campaign you're a super killing badass is slightly jarring (?)
Ehh I dunno man, like I get antsy about such things. Especially when it's trying to say or do something, or rather attempting to 'emote' I guess.
Ring-a-ding I must curb something that has an air of being pretentious.
[sp] Multiplayer is super fun tho [/sp]
I don't think anyone has been denying it's short, but rather what you would realisically expect out of a Battlefield Single Player. Story wise my favorite so far has been The Runner, going to do Nothing is Written tonight.
No I like the short and sweet format.
What time on the 21th is the game coming out?

God bless the sneaky soul who included that

In 4 hours according to Origin.

It's not an easter egg, my emblem since bf4 has been the GDI emblem and I guess your emblems look like engravings on guns
I should probably look into recording things in BF1. Are those cinematic tools in game yet? I've probably seen more cinematic things in multiplayer in the first four days of this game than pretty much any other multiplayer fps I've played.
Earlier I found myself reloading my rifle in the corner of a building when a screaming, burning German soldier came out of the smoke with a bayonet charge aimed directly at me. I pulled out of my pistol in a panic to try to kill him, but he died due to the burn damage and collapsed right at my feet.
-snip-
Just picked BF1 up for $48 on GMG.
Now to wait forever for Origin to install. Jesus christ.
Is that your referral link?
I might buy it, so if it's not then post it so you can get your commission.
It is my referral :)
Ive got a I5 2500k OC 4.5ghz, 8gb ram and heavily OC gtx 970, old stuff, specialy the cpu, do you guys think i can run it properly on high?
I'm hoping the multiplayer can make me feel better about this months release considering I bought this game for $36 USD on GMG cause CIV 6 preorder (playing that first) cause I'm sad that mafia 3 tries too hard to be GTA and Shadow Warrior 2 to be Borderlands (Which I hate so much)
this is what my emblem looks like if anyone was wondering

I run into people with Nod emblems all the time and it always leaders to banter "Down with GDI!" "Nod scum!" that kind of stuff. One time I ran into another guy with a GDI emblem and we both complimented each other on them.
It's so cool seeing people use emplacements for once.

You should get 60fps at 1080p on ultra, games really well optimised.
Okay thanks, bought it and downloading, by the way, for some reason the computer run really slow when downloading it, cant really play anything, never had that problem with steam.
Here's where you can edit your loadout and check your stats.

So I've already fallen back into using faction specific weapons and it peeves me that theres no Carcano for the Italians. Also makes me wonder how they're going to balance the Berthier assuming thats what the Italians will get in their DLC since it only has 3 rounds. My guess for the French is they'll get the Berthier, the RSC 1917, the Ruby pistol, the Chauchat and then maybe the Lebel as well
Ended up buying it. Good thing I've got class today because waiting for it to download would suck.

Get outta here, Nod is where it's at
The Emblem looks really nice though
