It's not possible to open the bolt on it manually in real life without the follower in the magazine popping out all the remaining live rounds in the magazine, making you unable to reload it properly if the magazine isn't empty.
I didnt even think about this, but this too. [editline]22nd October 2016[/editline] Btw, I found the reload for the Steyr M1912 pretty funny. You lock open the slide, eject all the unfired rounds, then put a in a stripper clip. It just is funny to see all the bullets spewing out of the top. I'll see if I can get a recording.
It's not possible to open the bolt on it manually in real life without the follower in the magazine popping out all the remaining live rounds in the magazine, making you unable to reload it properly if the magazine isn't empty. EDIT: And I guess what Wulfram said is also an error :v:
No, the remaining rounds stay in the magazine - the issue is that the bolt doesn't lock back in real life except when the magazine is empty, because the magazine follower is what holds it open. If you manually open the bolt, it throws out the chambered round, then chambers another when you let go of it, so to top it off, you have to find a way to hold the bolt open with one hand while loading loose rounds with the other. I show this in the video - it's not practical in the slightest. I'll link it here when I clean it up a bit, I'm super sick right now so I ended up pausing or stumbling a lot in the video.
That just seems like something they did for balance purposes, it'd be pretty damn annoying if they had the C96 as the only weapon in the game that could be reloaded only when the magazine is empty.
It was one of the reasons the C96 wasn't accepted - the other being that it was too expensive to make for it to also be so difficult to unload or top off. That makes it worth representing in-game IMO. They could have balanced it by having a toggleable stock for it which increases accuracy and control at the cost of mobility, while only being able to reload it when it runs fully dry. There are a couple inaccuracies with the model in general (some weird depression in the rear of the bolt which doesn't exist on any real C96 that I've ever seen, not even the prototypes) which leads me to believe it may be the one gun they didn't actually get to handle in person before modeling it for the game. Like I said, I love the game, it's not a mark against it, but I love using the guns I own in real life in games and the C96 has yet to be done 100% in any game I've ever played. BF1 does it best but this little thing makes my eye twitch when I see it :v: On that note, if the Model 10 shotgun was done right, it'd jam every other shot since it uses a bullshit flappy fucker that dicks up and eats shit every time you jiggle the gun even a little bit while pumping it, forcing you to flip the gun over and finger-fuck it until you can jostle the shell into the chamber manually.
Anyone played 64 player conquest on the playstation 4? Does your framerate drop to the low 20's on some maps? I want to know if it's this particular console or if it's all PS4's. 64 player is completely unplayable on my PS4 Like, not a matter of opinion unplayable, it performs SO bad that it is absolutely unplayable
I may have played 1 round of 64 player conquest. I've mostly been playing 64 player operations and the only problems I've come across was just lag. I don't recall any time where the game has been unplayable due to frames.
anyone want to squad up on PC?
sure, Origin name is elevator1313 also my favorite menu music since the early Halos
Anyone else surprised how many players have picked up WW1 lingo and use it in chat? I see "tommy" and "jerry" thrown around a lot, for example - almost as much as "fucking hacker"
Anyone looking to play on PC NA, my tag is Patremagne.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/4hVVypd.png[/t] Battlefield pls. Anyone know how to stop this? I think it only happens when I alt tab (borderless or not, doesn't matter), or maybe it's just a coincidence. My card doesn't crash or anything, just the game.
I get the same crash with my GTX 770. I've tried switching DX 12 on and off, new drivers, old drivers, and underclocking my GPU but it still happens randomly. Seriously annoying, especially when your slot gets instantly refilled on the server and nothing you did gets saved.

I'm most likely late on this, but I just want to say the periscope really is a lifesaver when it comes to counter-sniping. [vid]https://files.catbox.moe/rd1kow.webm[/vid]
One of my minor complaints is i wish not all the pistols so far had ungodly recoil. I'm loving the game so far, but i really don't feel that i have a reliable secondary because of how much they jump around, even the 1911 can be bad about it.
Added a few of you on origin also, here's a bonus of sending someone to hell by shooting them while going over cover the ragdolls are glorious

Some annoying bugs with this game Half the map becomes unusable in Amiens due to some weird bloom bug. Can't even look in that direction or you're blind Audio completely cuts out Some artifacting and stretched models as if video card was dying Monte Grappa's tunnels have flickering white textures Flickering Black nothing occasionally in some spots on some maps I can deal with some bugs, but a few of these are complete game breakers
What is everyones opinion on the behemoths? Personally i think they're fine in Conquest since it's so spread out and they have a smaller impact on a few points, but i think they're totally ridiculous in Operations and it honestly ruins the game mode for me. Defending is awesome the first time when there's no behemoths but the second an airship rolls in it just ruins it since everyone is so focused and you're just constantly dying while running to get onto AA (that they just focus fire anyways)
Either the bar needs a nerf, or the other lmgs need to be brought up.
The other LMGs need to be brought up to the BAR's level. The others, save the madsen and huot, are top tier garbage and completely worthless due to low damage + DICE's "brilliant" decission to make LMGs start off innacurate and get more accurate with more firing.

Depending on what you do it obscures cover so you think you're shooting someone when in fact they have a wall between you, and if you turn the wrong way its basically a flash bang.

Melee bugs the fuck out half the time I use it. I bayonet charge straight through someone (nevermind how annoying it is having the turn radius of a stampeding hippo) and do nothing and proceed to get killed; I smash someone with a shovel twice and they don't die but they knife me once and I die. I'll sprint at someone to bayonet them and my guy whips out his knife/shovel and stops moving, and I die.
I just had a fantastic Operations match on Monte Grappa. We won one round on the first sector before being repeatedly pushed back until we were on the fourth. About 7 or so guys locked the doors on B and sat there for over 30 minutes defending from the enemy, they absolutely saved the match. The rest of us were stuck outside trying to defend and recapture A and C repeatedly while being decimated by the airship (fuck the airship BTW). In the end it came down to the wire. The enemy had captured A, broken through B and captured it, and had neutralised C. We managed to kill enough of them to bring their lives down to 0, and for what felt like 5 minutes there was a fierce battle to capture C, with both sides throwing everything they had at it. Mercifully we managed to capture it, leading us to get a defence rating of over 300. On a separate note. Random battlepacks are garbage. I'm level 10 and haven't gotten a single one, I've seen people on Conquest get them 3 matches in a row.
On a separate note. Random battlepacks are garbage. I'm level 10 and haven't gotten a single one, I've seen people on Conquest get them 3 matches in a row.
I got 3 in a row last night while my friends got none, the rage was real
So I was monitoring BF1's performance and I noticed during stutter the GPU usage drops to 0% and goes back up again. Anyone know how to fix this?
Fun fact: bolt-action rifles using iron sights still have sway, but you can still steady your aim. I noticed this by accidentally hitting shift while aiming and heard my guy hold his breath.
What are the downsides to the impact grenade?
I wish I had been recording last night when I got the most amazing triple kill. It was on Suez, and i saw a scout go into one of the buildings near A, I tossed a grenade in the way I saw him go. I was shot by an enemy assault once I threw the grenade. It goes off, kills the scout. Causes a debris kill. The grenade ALSO set off the scout's tripwire gas bomb and killed a 3rd person :v:

Had a similar issue where my GPU usage seems to only hover around 50-70%, but after turning it off it gives a more consistent full usage and better frame rates.
