Am I the only one kinda disappointed with the campaign I mean its good, but every one nearly had stealth missions, and its short as fuck
Am I the only one kinda disappointed with the campaign I mean its good, but every one nearly had stealth missions, and its short as fuck
Nope and the fact that it's received universal critical and popular praise absolutely baffles me. Individual missions are solid, but not outstanding, and the cinematics will occasionally setup a good scene but for the most part it's dull and forgettable. Generally speaking, Mud and Blood is okay, the plane one is awful, the Italian one is okay but also like 20 minutes long, the Runner is dull and, in my experience, seems quite rushed, and Nothing is Written was the only one that genuinely felt like a Battlefield singleplayer at parts. The gameplay was a combination of CoD/BF singleplayer, Far Cry, and Sniper Elite and totally disregarded the unique setting of World War 1 to make another game about a lone supersoldier infiltrating bases with lures and getting sick melee takedowns. The worst part is that it took me 4 hours to complete and that's with almost every challenge and half the field manuals acquired. No, check that. The actual worst part is the credits trying to make an emotional statement about a game that pushes the absolute bounds of ludo-narrative dissonance and ones suspension of disbelief. The biggest indictment against Battlefield campaigns at this point though is even after all this I can't even say with surety that it's the worst campaign. I think gameplay-wise its better than BF3 and BF4 but I feel like my standards were higher because of the dramatic change in setting as well as hype for how supposedly emotional, epic, and immersive the campaign was supposed to be. [editline]23rd October 2016[/editline]
Huge suspension of disbelief for me was doing stealth as the tank driver and being an overall one-man-army badass. Battlefield to me is having to fight in a bigass open area along with a bunch of other people. It didn't have that. Call of Duty has that in their WW2 games, so I was expecting something along those lines other than stealth segments that feel crappier than Hardline's.
My suspension of disbelief held out for a bit after that because, okay, tank deep behind enemy lines, your commander is fucked up and your buddy snapped after the days events, whatever. So the game tells you to recon a village and look for engine parts. I can do that. Then you climb the windmill, miles behind enemy lines, and oh look conveniently a weapon crate with a silenced M1903.

Like the start will be a whistle blow and you charge with everyone. LIKE HOW THE FUCK IS THAT NOT IN Also, the first campaign mission only had 1 MISSION. Now I just want more and feel like the campaign could use more fronts. Russians? French? Serbia? Let's not forget some of the maps were the same as the multiplayer
Still can't log in. Pretty damn frustrating since it was working 100% fine this morning.
Been playing on the Xbone since that's where most of my friends/coworkers are playing. I'm pretty impressed with how it looks. Visually it looks better than the settings I had to use on my PC during the 10 hour trial, but it seems like it never hits 60fps and is somewhere in the low 50s. I plan to get the PC version if it goes on sale closer to the holidays, plus by then I should have a new GPU.
MvP of three Operations matches. Lost in each three matches. Hmm.
I wish i could play Operations, but i can never find a match. Instead i'm stuck in spawn-100m-from-flag Conquest getting shredded in seconds after spawning by stupidly godlike Medic guns.
I'm sad that the ammo crate and medic crate now just appear where you look. I can no longer vault over them as they fly through the air like I did in BF4. :v:
Was finally able to get into an Operation match. That was pretty good. Shame the people that hogged the Airship had no idea what to do and wasted it.
Enjoying support a lot more after buying the Suppressive variant of the Lewis Gun and the Bulldog revolver.
Enjoying support a lot more after buying the Suppressive variant of the Lewis Gun and the Bulldog revolver.
Yeah, the first Lewis Gun is ungodly trash. The Madson and BAR are really good non-bipods, and MG15 supp reigns supreme in med-range encounters. Limpet mine is also really fun to use. I tend to run limpet mine + light AT nade just to have some effectiveness against vehicles. Mortar's good, but I prefer the utility of the mine.
https://clips.twitch.tv/usaokay/FragilePigeonRiPepperonis Thanks, spawn system.
had the same thing happen [vid]http://techbot.xyz/ShareX/file/2016/10/22/whenyouspawnjustright.webm[/vid]

It's really helpful for helping your team deal with stuff like heavy tanks.
Meanwhile in no autobalance land [t]http://jesusfuck.me/di/SQHP/16-10-23-17-37-10-battlefield-1.png[/t]
I tried playing rush earlier tonight and it put me on a team of 4 vs 10, pre game. It was waiting to start, but just started with the teams as they were anyways. [editline]23rd October 2016[/editline] I liked the starter Lewis gun, but I'm liking the BAR too. Is the suppressive Lewis gun any good?
I'm having the same issue. Nearly unplayable :(
Dunno if it's just a coincidence, but I think I managed to fix it by opening ports 3612 and 3659, both TCP and UDP. Try that
Could anyone help me with sensitivity, ive been trying to set mine to have same sensitivity for scoped and non scoped but there seems to be no good way to do this. I turned on unified soldier aiming and the field of view scaling. It makes it better but its not really the same/perfect. Is it something im going to have to just deal with? its really offputting.
I think I've been playing too much overwatch, I keep expecting there to be a play of the game at the end of each match.
Fuck I wish you could join operations in a different region. A Russian guy I know and I often play games by going on US servers so we can both have ~200 ping, and we can't play operations because one of us will have to have 400 ping instead.
The BAR is superior to every other LMG so just stick with it.
I feel that there are several "best MG's" depending on how you play the support class. In my mind the MG15 is the best without a doubt for providing actual support and covering fire. For the run-and-gun style of playing the support class I would pretty much choose the Huot over the BAR any day because of more flexibility when it comes to ranged engagements. You also get 5 extra rounds, that helps a bit.
Trench Warfare is pretty much nonexistent in this, which is disappointing but understandable, 1918 was the year that the stalemate was broken and it was pretty much a conventional war to the end.
Trench Warfare is pretty much nonexistent in this, which is disappointing but understandable, 1918 was the year that the stalemate was broken and it was pretty much a conventional war to the end.
Operations simulates the trench warfare well in my experience so far if you haven't tried that yet.
Trench Warfare is pretty much nonexistent in this, which is disappointing but understandable, 1918 was the year that the stalemate was broken and it was pretty much a conventional war to the end.
Wouldn't fit in the battlefield franchise to well.
I think trench warfare is presented pretty well. You're not fighting trench to trench, but the game takes place in 1918, when trenches were becoming obsolete. I've found the trenches are quite useful for diving into for cover, and for moving around quickly. Sitting in a trench waiting to be told to go over the top, just to be gunned down 5 seconds later by someone you can't see would make a fucking terrible game. Even Verdun doesn't do that, and that's the 'realistic' WWI game.
Uuugh wish I wasn't wasn't getting this insane packet loss and rubbernmbanding, only started on Friday. Fuck me
Yesterday I sniped the pilots out of 2 planes back to back, and I believe I got 6 kills with one anti-tank grenade. I'm loving this game.
[vid]https://my.mixtape.moe/rpfdwh.webm[/vid] Idiot fight.
Uuugh wish I wasn't wasn't getting this insane packet loss and rubbernmbanding, only started on Friday. Fuck me
tell me about it - without a VPN on, I first have to reliably connect to origin, then maybe launch the game without it throwing a bitch fit over cloud data, then maybe have the game itself find out that i have internet access, than maybe the server browser actually show me servers, then maybe be able to join a game, then maybe have all of these tiny probabilities stack up for a duration of an entire round when it happens, the game's great. When one of these fails, I have to resort to a vpn but vpn drops so many packets in my 3hrs of gameplay i, at best, experience 20 minutes of actual pure game. Somehow the game's actually possible to play, and play well. I guess you really can get used to the worst.
Since noone resupplied me just went around with the sawed off blasting people's heads off :v: [editline]24th October 2016[/editline]
Trench Warfare is pretty much nonexistent in this, which is disappointing but understandable, 1918 was the year that the stalemate was broken and it was pretty much a conventional war to the end.
Maybe the French expansion will have some trenches.
I hope the French expansion includes Passchendaele with 24/7 sheeting rain and mud you can get stuck in.
