They're in general pretty easy to take out with reasonable teamwork. Hell, i no joke solo'd the blimp on Ballroom Blitz with the AA on C, you just gotta take out the turrets first. The only exception to this is the Dreadnought. Thing is too fuckin' tough because the AAs take everything out, so you have to rely on suicide runs. One game of mine on i think on Fao just got to the point where people would stop running along the shore and ignored the bugger until the game ended, we couldn't touch it otherwise.
What is "reasonable teamwork" though and why do I not see it the vast majority of the time? I've seen airships die decently fast but the dreadnought has always been a nightmare and I've never seen the train not at least do a lot of damage before going down, almost always swinging the losing team back to winning or much, much closer. I just hate that my reward for crushing the enemy on flag points over and over again is to just die to stupid behemoths that I personally can't do shit to and then proceed to lose the match.
A squad that focus on the behemoths can take them out pretty well. But single soldiers just tossing grenades here and there don't do much.
Not a fan of Assault really only having three smgs, the shotgun variety is not great outside the slug rifle
I agree with that. The weapon variety in BF1 sucks ass. I mean you got a pretty honest handguns selection but the rest...
i main support and LMGs need a buff, i have no idea what they're good for other then getting assists and lets not for get the awesome gadgets of small ammo, bigger ammo, and mortars!
I want to play support but I dont want to run and gun with a 20 round magazine bar. I just want a good machine gun with a big magazine that doesn't overheat in a few seconds.
Why are medics allowed to outclass snipers :why:
Y'all need to learn your weapons before passing damning judgments on them. There's plenty more weapon variety than in 4 or 3 imo where just about everything is a tap-fire laser rifle. Learn a gun you like, understand what situation it belongs in, and adapt accordingly. Except for Medic Selbstlader M1916 and the Assault Hellreigel. Those are hands down the best weapons for their respective class, and fill a somewhat overpowered "Jack of all trades, master of some" category. Hellreigel isn't so broken because it's still an SMG at the end of the day, but the Selbstlader definitely needs a slight nerf in at least one department. The BAR is balanced around having next to no ammo, and high-ammo mgs are balanced around overheat. Just do long bursts and pause before the overheat happens to reset your aim while keeping the spread low. IMO, the MG15 is better in general than the BAR due to its insane midrange effectiveness and ammo pool. There's also the Madsen MG which is a slightly worse BAR with the benefit of extra ammo. Do some experimenting and try variants of different guns until you find something you like.
i keep crashing on the fucking italian campaign ugh
I find the MGs seem to be better when either fired from the bipod in a static position using controlled bursts, or when used for walking fire, engaging enemies from the hip at close range. Gee, it's almost as if Dice is encouraging us to use light MGs in the ways they were actually employed during WWI. I've been using the Madsen and Lewis gun both with walking fire and I've enjoyed both of them. [editline]24th October 2016[/editline] And I don't know why people are complaining about them not doing enough damage. They barely do less damage than the Selbstlader.
Why are medics allowed to outclass snipers :why:
They only outclass bad snipers. The sniper variants of the medic rifles are good but even when using a bipod they have ADS deviation which makes them unrealiable at range.
played the campaign liked friends in high places and the runner the format was good and I liked the experimentation with different storytelling methods (1st campaign with no narration, second with an unreliable narrator, third with a past-tense etc). shame they were so short and that the first and last campaign were so forgettable. also I feel DICE got too enamored with their stealth shit because that was tacked on everywhere. I wouldn't mind it if the russian / french dlc brought a short campaign bit again since this was mostly enjoyable
So... is the howitzer tank variant like a straight improvement? It has slightly longer range (if a little harder to aim) hits WAY harder and has an alternate machine gun mode. It's like a 100% better version of both the artillery truck and light tank
You guys realise that would make the recon pretty bad, right? His gadgets are nothing special and scoped sniper rifles are pretty situational as medium range is more important. If any class could have his guns, there'd be no reason to pick him.
He shouldn't be a sniper anyway. I always thought they should have taken the Spec Ops from BF2 as the basis for Recon, where it's more about close range demolitions and infiltration than long range shots.

It also has the quick repair ability. [editline]24th October 2016[/editline] It's definitely better than the stock CS light tank though. That one is pretty much trash apart from the medic/ammo box drop ability.

[editline]24th October 2016[/editline] What's a good pistol for the assault? For support I found that the M1912 is pretty damn good but it's support-only.
How do you unlock vehicle skins?
This probably seems whiny, but i just kinda want to go back to BF4. The game isn't as fun as the beta was, it feels off, and i've had more spawn insta-kills in the past four days than i have probably ever. No joke, the past six games i've played, i've barely been able to break even because i walk three steps from wherever i spawned and i get gunned down by medics or headshot from a hundred meters out. Frustrating.
I mean, the guns are way more inaccurate and hard to handle in this game than ever, I kinda feel the opposite, other than snipers, I actually feel like I have genuine battles with people as we're fucking missing each other.
I'd take the inaccurate guns of BF1 over the AEK tap fire laser beams of BF4 any day.

Frustrating.
Opposite here, I don't think I can ever go back to BF4 despite it being solid on it's own. No lock ons, no IRNV, no MAA, no jets, no helicopters, guns actually have quirks and aren't super-easy 900RPM no recoil railguns, and the gameplay is frankly just better. Remove behemoths, fix the absolutely dreadful UI issues, and solve this directx crash and BF1 will probably be my favorite Battlefield game full stop.
dont remove the behemoths, I like how they can turn a fight and make it actually close. Not just a steamroll. I just wish I could get in the Dreadnought for once, I can't ever get into it. Nor can I EVER get the driver seats of the other ones sadly.
good god the bomber is almost impossible to take down when they have competent gunners. Idk how many times i've tried to take him down with either an attack or fighter plane and i die every time.
removing behemoths would be absolutely retarded
Also I'm OK with the fighter, haven't done too much with the planes since I'm not too good at flying. [editline]24th October 2016[/editline] But like I've taken down a bomber with it so idk, isn't as bad as I've seen some other people say it is.

This is sooo fun :joy:
I really hope they remove the sweet spot mechanic in the future, it is such a god awful idea. Why reward bad aim?
Am I very dumb... how do I use these weapons I get in the battlepacks? I swear I can't find it anywhere.
customization>visuals [editline]24th October 2016[/editline] as in, they're skins and you need to unlock the actual weapon first (any variant) before you can use them

I have no idea how people have problems with the behemoths???
