Battlefield Franchise Megathread V2 - 'The Future of Warfare Is in the Past' Edition

Yesterday i plugged my pc to a lcd tv with hdmi and both fried for some fucking reason and now i need to rebuild a pc.
My stepfather borrowed me his alienware aurora r4 untill i rebuild mine, its actually better than what i had, i7 3930k, 16gb ram and SLI gtx 680, however that power is useless since it has only 2gb vram, my fps constantly jump from 60 to 40 to 60 and so on, except texture, what will eat up the vram?
So I was playing in Amiens and it was a close af match. The Germans were making a hard push on the bridge and we were only barely holding them (right in front of it). Seriously, almost the entire enemy team was trying to push onto it.
I rolled up in the super heavy tank and knocked out the only tank on the enemy team, another super heavy, that had pushed onto the bridge. Instead of rolling up the middle, I drove down into the canal and up the other side and into an alley.
Right in front of me, smoke and gas grenades were detonating everywhere as the Germans pushed us back onto the bridge and took the street. Blocking me from the road was an allied light tank moving in and out of the street trying to ward off the Germans. Just as I got up to it, it exploded from an AT grenade, filling the air with even more smoke and now fire too. It was impossible to see anything.
Defying all reason, I drove full speed ahead and slammed through the remains of the tank, flying out into the street.
It was fucking hilarious. I could see the entire enemy team freak the fuck out and scatter. They all stopped running for a second, paused, and then immediately ran away / dove to cover.
I died when they realized what was happening but I had a glorious last stand.
So while MP is downloading which way would you recommend playing through the stories?
1. finish each story before going to the next one
2. play the first segment on each then the second segment etc.
1 at a time

Resolution, anti-aliasing probably
I think your best bet is just to nuke the resolution scale option until you hit 60fps
Also does DX12 on bf1 support multi adapter? That's better than SLI since you should get Vram from both cards
Gtx 680 are dx11, doesnt it?
It's not an insanely popular opinion, but I'd rather have 2143 to be the next Battlefield after BF1.
Convenient for my fetish of having to use faction specific weapons, the Pederson Device Springfield is actually pretty good on the two maps where you play the Americans. I used it on Argonne and went 29 and 9. Its pretty fun to just spray with it.
I played scout for the first time and holy fucking shit, could they have picked a more modern-looking scope on the base sniper rifle? :suicide:
I'm garbage at this game and I get so salty, because it's such a cool game but I just suck

considering it's a period scope issued with sniper variant springfields and ross rifles, yes????

I cant tell if this is sarcasm or not, but the scope thats on the SMLE Marksman is the Warner and Swazy Telescopic Musket Sight, which was the scope used on American sniper M1903 Springfields.

Oh, I should have refreshed the page
So, I take it all the MP-18 unlocks are just the same model, except with slight changes to stats? Likewise, I unboxed a C-96 but I can't seem to switch to it while playing as Assault.. am I missing something obvious here, or? Beyond that, really enjoying the game so far. Just wish the double barreled cannons on Grappa weren't so damn useless..
You unbox skins only.

Each class has their own set of pistols they can use with the M1911, P08 and the FN M1903 being all kit pistols, along with the ones you unlock from playing each class. In your case, the C-96 can only be used by the Medic.

Those scopes were also junk, if I recall. In BF1 I haven't used a scope not once as scout. Iron sights all the way. I don't sit off and snipe, I'm usually right on in there in the thick of it, but got that long range capability to boot. got the Gweher 98 and sticking with it. It's no 98k but it's close enough

I've heard that from just about everyone, i don't think it's impopular at all and i agree.

You should give this a watch.

Im the same exact way, though it is really satisfying to kill a sniper thats way far away looking at you through their scope with only your iron sights.
I'm level 20 and I haven't gotten a SINGLE battlepack.
Meanwhile I saw one guy get three in a row.
Why?
The SMG with 25 rounds that hip fires really well... is really swell.
Just went most flags defended, most flags captured, and most kills in a round of conquest with that thing. Not a single kill with iron sights. There were 3 guys laying in 3 different craters and I just went from one to the other putting a burst into their backs. It felt and sounded great
First battlefield I've played since 2, can't say I really like the bullet spongeyness off multiplayer, looking forward to hardcore mode.
You must have a very different definition of bullet spongeyness because I think it's a bit crazy how quickly weapons kill within their effective ranges, especially the semi-auto rifles. I guess I could see what you mean if you're plinking at somebody at a distance with a SMG or other short ranged weapon, but that's not really a good use of your time or ammo.
especially compared to BF2. I think assault rifles in that game took like 5 hits to kill in close range.

No I get that it's just when I unload a rifle at point blank range into someone and they don't go down that's what I'm talking about.

I think that's more netcode than anything else. It's not as bad as BF4 on launch, but there's definitely still some lag issues messing with hit detection. Medium range fights are fine, but close range tends to be a mix of skill/reaction time and lag choosing what shots count.
How are you guys liking the game, is it worth it at it's current state?
i cannot put in words how fucking brokenly OP the armored rambos are
It's like the minigun in DooM, everyone else seems to be slaying it but me.
That sniper shield gadget is useless in counter sniping but it might be useful against other unit types like medics on maps like amiens. The decoy gadget can be useful if you place it just right. Haven't tried the periscope yet.

Love it, most complaints rely on the playerbase atm
a lot of medics that don't actually want to revive people, and the fact that a lot of people don't realize that they're in a locked squad of 2 people and don't do anything to actually unlock it, etc.

you walk upto a guy with a syringe out and it starts to flash
fuck you.
Game runs like shit for me.
Running on a 970 at 1440p and I'm playing on low settings and I'm lucky if I get 30FPS without stuttering
