hardline or 4?
bf4
According to xfactor in his reddit AMA, flight in Battlefield One handles just like it does in Battlefield 4, so I'm excited to hear that the entire air portion of the game will be unplayable a month after release ala BF4. [editline]21st June 2016[/editline]
Consider playing on a 32 player conquest (non-large) server.
I also just remembered but one of those victories was a comeback where we told our team not to spawn and we drained 20 of their tickets while only draining two of ours :v: not as epic as your video but still, it works.
I'm trying to get the second assault dlc currently, and it keeps giving me this message. Obviously I own bf4 but I have no idea what to do, any suggestions?
Is your BF4 installed?

[editline]21st June 2016[/editline] Does anyone have the image r/Battlefield uses as its banner on hand? I think it'd make an awesome wallpaper.
Is your BF4 installed?
I tried uninstalling everything related to Origin earlier because it told me windows was blocking the download, I tried a lot of other suggestions but it didn't work so I purged everything of Origin, I'll re-install it tonight and I might make another post if anything happens.

The 313 minigame flight mechanics, especially as they are in BF3/4 are just really boring. It could really use something. If DICE is married to the system I think it can at least be tweaked to make it more interesting and more like real air combat. The 313 principle is actually sound in a weird way, because there is a specific speed where airplanes will have their highest turn rate. I think if you were to amplify the effects of gravity, and tweak it so that heavier planes hold their momentum better, you could at least create a pseudo-sorta-more-realistic flight model.
They should've just released the dlc for free permanently. I dunno about BF4 but I hear no one really plays the dlc on Hardline.
So what DLC hasn't been released for free yet? I mean you've gone this far, might as well release it all at some point.
for the lazy https://www.origin.com/en-au/store/buy/battlefield-4/pc-download/addon/battlefield-4-second-assault
I tried installing that yesterday on my Xbone but it was not free?
I tried installing that yesterday on my Xbone but it was not free?
got gold? you need gold
So I got hardline for $5 and decided to try out one of the almost always full servers: block 24/7. I had no idea what to expect, but from the screenshot of the shopping mall I was excited to have running gun battles through the parking lot, maybe into the interiors. Instead I got Metro 3.0. If BF1 has a meatgrinder map I hope its the token trench map, preferably the 32 man version, so we still have a bigger version of the trench map. If a server limited weapon selection to bolt actions and a few machine guns (if battle pickups are a thing then just that). I might actually play on it frequently.
Let's be honest here, not as many people would use Origin if Battlefield wasn't on there.
Let's be honest here, not as many people would use Origin if Battlefield wasn't on there.
BF4 and the fact that I lost my CnC generals discs and the only place to get a digital copy is origin, and CD keys it was like £5
got gold? you need gold
I got gold ye
Let's be honest here, not as many people would use Origin if Battlefield wasn't on there.
My origin account is my bf2 account We go way back
My origin account is my bf2 account We go way back
I guess it dates back to the origins of it, huh?
Found the full-size image for the header of /r/Battlefield, and it's pretty dang good. Also, some guy went into depth on the changes to gunplay on BF1, and apparently they've applied the first-shot modifier for recoil to spread as well.

Also directly renders microtapping/tapfiring useless since your second shot will hit fuck all. -LMGs have this Borderlands Hyperion-esque thing going on where the longer you fire, the more accurate your spread becomes, basically negative spread. This is most likely done to promote the use of LMGs as suppression weapons rather than as oversized 200-round ARs in BF4. It's not all M1 though as according to a few other youtubers, MGs can overheat. Also renders tapfiring useless as you're missing out increased accuracy the longer you hold down the trigger. -DMRs are basically the same as BF4's, except a bit more accurate and powerful. -Bolt actions have that 'sweet spot' range thing that I'm sure everyone has known about at this point. -No info on shotties or pistols aside from the god blessing fact that shotguns are back to using the normal crosshair instead of the dreaded circle one. Tbh the whole thing sounds interesting and I hope they'll keep them this way atleast until public beta for the rest of playerbase to provide necessary feedback and changes.
Makes sense why the Youtubers are complaining about the infantry gameplay then since tapfire is name of the game in BF3/BF4. Powerful semi-autos sound nice, though I think only one class gets those in Battlefield One? And honestly I've never been a fan of the "weapons gain accuracy as you shoot them" mechanic but maybe BFOne will make it work.

Takes away far too much skill from the game.
Random spread is such a shitty game mechanic IMO. I'd have to play the open beta if it happens to really see how I feel about it. Being able to throw down crazy suppressive fire being the LMG's job was great.
[vid]https://i.imgur.com/pSLQpGR.mp4[/vid]
Thank you! I was trying to use vid tags but it showed up with a broken player. That's the reload animation for bolt actions with a round in the chamber, it's a pretty neat detail. [editline]fbgm[/editline] Oh, I see. Change gifv to mp4 - I'll keep that in mind.
Oh, I see. Change gifv to mp4 - I'll keep that in mind.
that or webm in the end, gifv is a fake extension that returns 'text/html' containing proper media formats
Random spread is such a shitty game mechanic IMO. Takes away far too much skill from the game.
its so minimal in a game like battlefield that it doesnt really matter
For whatever it's worth, this is what DICE has to say about the changes to air combat in BF1.
Patrick O'Shaughnessy: The biggest difference is the lack of locking missiles and countermeasures. Aside from that, the aerodynamics model we’re using is more nuanced and refined than we saw with jets. The airplane was a new technology during this period, and these machines had to do a lot of work to fight gravity. To capture that physicality, we focused more on the feeling of weight and drag and how to express that in our planes. If dogfighting with jets was about pressing a button when you heard a beep, dogfighting with these machines is more about maneuvers, speed, and throwing bullets towards your target.
Comes from the new vehicles page. Battlefield 4 is a really fun game and recon is a great class for a squad leader. I wish I had more to talk about when it comes to BF4, but it's just a really good game and I don't have much to complain about aside from dumb nitpicky stuff. [editline]22nd June 2016[/editline] Okay so here's one. I wish the Battlelog stats would show stuff like flag captures and squad related things instead of focusing on xXxTryh4rdMLG stats like kills and an arbitrary SKILL rating. My last game was awesome because I did a bunch of squad shit and we were capping and holding flags really well. My score was top on the team because of that, and not because I killed lots of stuff. Aside from scrubbing through the ribbons, this doesn't reflect any of what I'm proud of for this game. I hope BF1 de-emphasizes kills and puts stats like flag captures, support points (resupply, heal, spawn beacon, squad points etc.) and score front and center versus just your KDR and other stuff that's just about killing. [t]http://i.imgur.com/C33JOUH.png[/t] What's displayed on the scoreboard has a subtle, but powerful, influence on how your players view and play the game. Focusing the scoreboard on teamwork stuff rather than kills will help trick people into playing the objective. Another interesting twist would maybe be showing the score and K/D, but as a squad rather than an individual.
