Finally unlocked JDAM's by flying my Fantan into an assault boat, now all I need is the FY-JS (screams internally) and the rank 100 knife. Thank god for 2x XP and 200% boosts.
im lost, what can the copilot do in a scout heli? i knew in BF3 you could use a laser painter until they patched it, but ive never noticed anything in BF4
Well as said its for spotting, communication with the pilot and a back up incase the pilot dies. The heli is a scout helicopter, but people hardly do any actual scouting with it lol. If the pilot gets shot, the switch seat button from the copilot automatically puts you in the pilot seat. People of course as said avoid it like the plague and just sit on the outside passenger seats (and even then they hardly repair) so when the pilot gets killed they just panic and bail. Ive seen so many vehicles lost due to this, when if they had a copilot in the seat they couldve staid in the air longer.
I pre-ordered this game and played the day it came out and only just unlocked the FY-JS an hour or so ago
Few things i wish were gonna be in BF1. A better spawn protection, being able to skip past the death screen and no broken fucking vaulting system. Tired of spawning in on team mates to die because it's not telling me they're in combat, tired of sitting there, no where near any medics, staring at the death screen when i could have spawned back on a point by then, and i'm tired of vaulting either just plain not working or making my screen go full retard so i can't aim.
And yes, i just had the most frustrating game of my life due to all of these things.

They're for sure addressing that one in BF1. In the E3 vids you can hold a button to speed past the death screen, or you could press another button to call out for a medic. Nearby medics & their distances from you appear on the death screen to help you make the choice.
I still don't have the Exploding Paper Airplane...
I want to use the EPA...

Didn't bf4 have a screen pop up showing your squadmate's situation, and wouldn't allow you to spawn if he was getting shot at?
Didn't bf4 have a screen pop up showing your squadmate's situation, and wouldn't allow you to spawn if he was getting shot at?
It does, but it's just a first person view and not really a good view of their situation and half the time it doesn't work, iirc like you said, they have to be actively being fired on and it's not a distance to enemy thing or like if you've been spotted. So half the time you'll spawn and get shredded because technically they weren't in combat. Kinda makes sense i guess but it's obnoxious as hell, might as well not even have the system for all the good it does.

Like i said, i had an extremely frustrating game so i'm probably just being gripey and salty v:v:v
I really hope BF1 lets you skip the fucking Killcam and go right into the loadout
Does anyone wanna play BF4 anytime soon?
Crank up that sound and put the quality to 1440p60, boys and girls. Berdu's back:

regarding the first video: I've seen pictures of automatic versions of the Medic guns in the loadout screen and I'm pretty sure levelcap showed them in one of his videos.
I wonder if you can be killed by a bomb falling on you.
I wonder if you can be killed by a bomb falling on you.
I think that's what bombs are made for.
I think that's what bombs are made for.
I think he meant the bomb casing
I think he meant the bomb casing
same difference, shit falling from high altitude is a death sentence.

I really wish FY-JS wasn't so garbage. It's really fucking underpowered, especially for a sniper rifle that seems like it's supposed to be for long range (3rd highest muzzle velocity and very low bullet drop) and yet you need 3 hits to kill someone at long range

Doesn't help that it looks so nice aswell
i just started playing bf4, any guys out there wanna game with a big scrub?
Is it bad to say that i'm glad they ditched the silly 'levoluton' design that led to more problems and unfavorable level changes than needed, in favor of more in-depth destruction more comparable to Bad Company again? Of course I haven't seen any clean examples of how thorough the destruction is this time.
looks like the new levolution is p much the big vehicles dying, i.e. the train derailing or the zeppelin crashing
looks like a ton more of the environment is destructible now tho, tanks can drive straight through buildings and shit
I think we'll be able to get a clearer picture when maps are shown off in full.
Right now it looks a lot like BC2, which didn't have any huge buildings etc.
But instead of frames destruction, it's similar/improved to recent titles running frostbite 3
of course it depends on maps and their layouts, ww1 etc.
DICE seems to be of the assumption that fully 75% of BEF combat troops were non-European.

At least, this is the case pending confirmation of deeper character customization.
So in this video there's a clip of a guy just standing on top of an enemy tank while it's moving and it looks completely okay and without all the super janky issues that come with that sort of thing.
This was actually a thing in Battlefront because you could stand on the AT-ATs just fine, but I wasn't sure if that applied to regular vehicles because AT-ATs were kinda special. I was hoping though that it was them prototyping and testing a way for future Battlefields to allow people to walk on vehicles again like you could in the old days.
Between this footage and the footage of people walking on top of Zeppelins I think it's safe to say that it's 100% confirmed by now. This has me way too excited at the inevitable Battlefield 1944 hoping they bring back naval combat from 1942. Flying planes off of carriers, diving in submarines, and fighting in multi-crew battleships and destroyers was fun as hell and something Battlefield hasn't done since the original game. 2142 sort of had it with the Titans, but it wasn't really about Titan vs Titan combat.

Walking on vehicles was always kinda janky in BF. I dunno about 2142 but in 1942 I remember ice skating on the ships while they were in motion.
That said: Recall that the vehicles we've seen so far all have fully modeled interiors.
Boarding action may actually include fighting inside ships, not just on them.

Also omg I have a remington model 10, so neat to see my obscure-ass gun in a video game
Oh yeah it wasn't great in 1942. I didn't mean to imply otherwise, but they were willing to allow the jank because back then the standards weren't as high and it worked well enough for the purposes of gameplay. You stopped being able to do it at all in Battlefield 2 where any vehicle movement just outright killed you, and you couldn't really do it in the Frostbite games because you usually just slide off or get killed if it's enemy.
Standing on vehicles from what I remember worked way better in 1942 and Vietnam than it did in BF2 and later.
I remember in BFV in SP I'd just jump onto the back of an AI controlled vehicle with an M60 and just shot shit from there while they drove around

I'm pretty sure there was also some footage somewhere of a guy standing on the wing of a flying plane and shooting at other planes. So yeah, that's possible too.
I just wonder how easy it'll be to actually get up there.
The pilot would have to find somewhere to land the plane that is also next to something the other guy could climb on to get on top of it
