Battlefield Franchise Megathread V2 - 'The Future of Warfare Is in the Past' Edition

Had a moment where i bayonetted an enemy, and like, 50 milliseconds after i did so, an enemy bayonetted me.
This game's fun, but i do feel the assault is OP again, the SMG is more effective at range than BF4 ARs lol.
I know this is trivial but I hope they fix the animation where you bayonet or knife someone near a wall, they go through it.
My laptop right now keeps a steady 40fps with everything low (mesh ultra) on BF4.
better than my old pc which kept 120fps all low on Locker, so i was constrained to only play locker lol.

It's pretty good
That's actually one of the many main menu themes though. There's more on this guys channel.

So I got Battlefield 4 on pc, hopefully it runs aight on a lowend pc.
BF4 is surprisingly well optimized.

Uh, did they remove the ability to deny a revive in BF1?
If they're planning to make the campaign more emotional, when they start rolling out the singleplayer trailers I hope they use the orchestral score for the commercials.
did you get the key just by signing up for the insider thing? i have signed up pretty early for it (not thats an indicator for how fast you'll get one but still)
I signed up right after the announcement stream and haven't gotten anything other than a confirmation email.

Check so you're signed up for the beta program in Origin.
I forgot to do that so I've not got anything either.
My computers in storage and my gtx590 is getting up there in age. I think I requested an xbox code, if anything.
no more wubwub wub wubwubwub yay
whoa, where do i have to check?
Settings, beta program or something, can't remember right now as I'm at work. :v:

It's called the GameTester program. I think you have to go to your account settings on the website to access it.

Nah you can do it inside Origin.
According to the battlefield 1 beta page on their website, all you have to do is sign up for the insider program. :\
So, I can only run TDM on operation locker at best at 30 fps on the lowest settings possible.
Good game though, last time I played a battlefield game on pc was when BC2 released, so I'm really bad at the game.
At 30 fps there's no much you can actually do to improve skill-wise.
I've got a feeling that depending on how fast you can resupply it, the new javelin squad is gonna be like 4 scouts with K-Bullets and a support with ammo bag. If the K-Bullet replenishes fast enough, you could spray down a tank from REALLY far away in about 30 seconds.
The bullet either disappears or does no damage after a certain range, well below a snipers max range. 4 snipers with K rounds sounds like it could be decent but I'm pretty sure two assaults would get the job done faster, let alone 4.
The nice thing about Battlefield One vehicles is that they aren't a pain in the fucking ass to fight like tanks and LAV's and MAA and assault boats are in BF4. To put it one way, in BF4 as engineer I typically just run away from vehicles unless they are being fought by another teammate. They just aren't worth the effort (read: frustration) to try and take on. Where as in Battlefield One when I'm assault I actively look for tanks to kill to help out my team, and usually get met with success. Light tanks might be a bit too powerful right now because they aren't significantly weaker than the other two tanks while having a turret and actual decent speed but even still it feels way more fun and fair than fighting a thermal vision MBT or LAV.

Overall the vehicle balance is my favorite change from BF4. The map is about the size (play area wise) as Firestorm but the absolute most armored vehicles you could theoretically face are 4 but I haven't seen more than two in one place during the entire alpha, and only then a handful of times, and I still managed to get at least one of them before dying. It's not at all like BF4 with it's smaller maps absolutely choked with vehicles that are individually way more powerful than the ones in BF1.
Yeah, there were way too many vehicles in BF4. Shit like on Siege of Shanghai where if the enemy played their cards right you'd be dealing with 4 MBTs on a tiny map like that, plus choppers and IFV's. it was a mess. I'm not in the alpha, but came someone tell me just how many of each tank class you can have on the field at a time?

One of each at the beginning then a point on the map allows you to spawn another that I'm pretty sure is a choice. I'll have to double check this later though for specifics because honestly I haven't used tanks that much but overall you should never see more than 4 enemy tanks unless your team just gives one away.
Related: Since everyone who spawns a tank is a repair class, bailing out of a tank and dying is even more punishing than it was before. I went 20-0 the other day because someone bailed out of a light tank I disabled. I killed him, took his kit, and repaired his tank :v:
Also like my third game I destroyed a tank with a repair tool which I'm hoping was a world first :v:

Oh the light tank is plenty weaker than the others, just a tad bit more versitile.
It has no chance going 1v1 against any of the others because they do more damage to it, than it can do to them.
And it is kinda a biiiit weak against infantry too because one rocket rifle or anti tank grenade will usually disable its tracks completely.
Overal the vehicle balance seems pretty nice! I'd just recommend perhaps giving the main cannon a bit of damage dropoff against infantry on range.

This is why I play engineer mainly.

Seems like each team starts with 3 tank resources, which can be any tank. That and b and e has one tank resource each. C and d has a plane resource.
But tanks don't have near the impact and survivability in 1 which they had in 4. So i would compare 4 bf1 tanks with the dificulty of 1.5 bf4 tanks.
To anyone in the BF1 alpha - does each class have a unique voice, like in Bad Company 2? Or is it like BF3/4?

from what ive seen in videos, it seems like bf3/4

And I've seen people being disappointed with the graphics, I really don't understand.
