Was rush confirmed before? I seem to remember most people assuming it was replaced by operations.
24 players seems like quite a small amount for it.
24 players seems like quite a small amount for it.
I'm not sure about that. It helps keeping the defensive team on the move.
24 players seems like quite a small amount for it.
I think I remember reading that operations was less than 64 players too. It should be fine if the map sizes and vehicle selection are fine-tuned properly.
I feel like Rush is one game mode that suffers if there are too many players, I think 32 players or less is optimal
Doesn't actually say 21st for insiders. Just that you have to sign up by then. Could be the 22nd, since that's a week from now - but I would venture a guess that it will be a 1-3 day head start.
It's only a day early https://twitter.com/Battlefield/status/755212556378091520
It's only a day early https://twitter.com/Battlefield/status/755212556378091520
That feels pretty insulting really.
It's only a day early https://twitter.com/Battlefield/status/755212556378091520
Eh. Gotta take what you can. I should have a brand new computer put together today or tomorrow with a GTX 1080 and i7-6700k, and a new 144hz g-sync monitor. Looking forward to demolishing this game on ultra. Anyways, the website's been updated with a tiny bit of new info. They're calling them "elite classes" now, still no info on how you come to control them.
ELITE CLASSES Flame Trooper Elite Class Wrapped in fire-resistant gear, a gas mask, and carrying a powerful flamethrower, the Flame Trooper brings with him chaos. Stay far away if you can, but if you find yourself eye-to-eye with the Flame Trooper, you'd best muster your courage, fix your bayonet, and charge into battle before he notices you. One wrong move and you're likely to spend your last moments seeing red. Sentry Elite Class The Sentry moves like a human tank. With a water-cooled automatic machine gun at his hip and strapped in plated armor, the Sentry can shower enemy positions with lead while still being able to withstand a lot of damage. His main weakness is his greatest strength – in order to keep up his defense, he eschews the use of a gas mask in favor of additional armor plating. Tank Hunter Elite Class The Tank Hunter has mastered the use of the 1918 Tankgewehr, an absolute beast of a weapon. Standing almost as tall as a man, the Tankgewehr is capable of damaging enemy vehicles over great distances. With a well-placed shot, the Tank Hunter can focus fire on particular parts of the enemy vehicles, taking out the tracks, machine guns, or cannons on armored vehicles.
https://www.battlefield.com/games/battlefield-1/classes
Maybe elite classes are like battle pickups/the SWBF heroes?
Has there been any indication of whether squad leaders in the game will have officer uniforms? That would be a pretty cool addition.
I don't know how battlefront heroes work, but I doubt they're just pickups as the announcer tells you when they are available for use and at least two of them are full character model replacements, unlike the pickups in BF4. I assume the SWBF heroes require respawning though so it will probably be something like that.
Yeah that sounds identical to SWBF heroes.
https://www.battlefield.com/en-gb/news/article/battlefield-1-horses-overview Article on horses. You can dismount them, they avoid obstacles intelligently, and you spawn into them directly as a cavalry class. Confirmed for beta, obviously.
Ready to go boots on the ground at the dawn of all-out war? It's almost time – the Battlefield 1 Open Beta begins on August 31 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Origin for PC. Battlefield Insider members get early access, and if you sign up by August 21, you can join them as some of the first people in the world to play the Battlefield 1 Open Beta. If you've already signed up, make sure you go to the Battlefield Insider Page and select your platform preference, otherwise you won’t get a code to play early.
https://www.battlefield.com/news/article/battlefield-1-beta-dates
A few new images, couldn't tell if there were more. [t]http://imgkk.com/i/phxj.jpg[/t] [t]http://imgkk.com/i/1dro.jpg[/t] [t]http://imgkk.com/i/x8_x.jpg[/t] That's a different scout car than the one we've already seen, and there was a different armored car than the rolls royce in the trailer, too. Very high degree of vehicle variety.
The Sentry Elite is utterly absurd, yet I don't hate it.
The Sentry Elite is utterly absurd, yet I don't hate it.
I'm just upset that one of my favorite weapons ever has been relegated to a limited class I'll rarely be fast enough to spawn as.
Another new armored vehicle from the trailer. Anyone recognize it?
Another new armored vehicle from the trailer. Anyone recognize it?
It's a Romfell Armored Car. http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww1/austria-hungary/romfell-armoured-car.php Honestly had to look it up because early armored cars are such a blurry subject. There's a lot of very low production number models out there. I would have assumed the central powers AC be a Ehrhardt or something. It and the Rolls Royce are what I perceive as the most well known. The gun the player is holding is a "Standschütze Hellriegel" DICE has pulled out the stops for some real special snowflake guns, as evidenced by that and the Pieper revolving carbine for instance.
There was a quick moment where it showed soldier having the pedersen device in springfield rifle. So yea that is confirmed alright. They are really doing their all to put every weird gun from ww1 era in the game huh. Not that i am complaining, it's going to give better perspective to a lot of folk who think ww1 was just about artillery, rifles and machineguns. I really hope you can use carbine bolt action rifle on the horseback! Well i surely hope they at least put those ingame as well.
I hope two people can fit on a horse.
Hotwire, but with horses in BF1 :v:
Is Lawrence of Arabia a female now or there is something i don't get?
Is Lawrence of Arabia a female now or there is something i don't get?
Behind every great man there's a great woman. I think that Lawrence is a man, but the legend of Lawrence is actually a woman.
Behind every great man there's a great woman. I think that Lawrence is a man, but the legend of Lawrence is actually a woman.
You mean Lauren of Arabia?
I don't mind playing as a badass desert chick but I really hope it isn't "Lawrence of Arabia was actually a woman!!!"
I sincerely doubt they're gender-bending Lawrence of Arabia
In October 1917, as part of a general effort to divert Ottoman military resources away from the British advance before the Third Battle of Gaza, a revolt of Arabs in Petra was led by British Army officer T. E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) against the Ottoman regime. The Bedouin women living in the vicinity of Petra and under the leadership of Sheik Khallil's wife were gathered to fight in the revolt of the city. The rebellions, with the support of British military, were able to devastate the Ottoman forces.
Seems possible.
30 minutes until the Squads livestream. https://www.twitch.tv/battlefield https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmwclMxQQ3g

The stream has been delayed one hour. [editline]16th August 2016[/editline] Well, this probably won't bump, but it just started. Sorry. EA was very misleading, saying one hour on twitter and then 9:40 CEST on twitch.
