Battlefield Franchise Megathread V2 - 'The Future of Warfare Is in the Past' Edition

Im kinda at a point now where I don't want to know more about the game so it's at least somewhat new when I first play it. When BF4 came out I had seen so much and read so much about everything that it didn't even feel like I was playing a game for the first time when I finally played it myself.
Aside from trailers, I don't think I'll be watching any of those in depth dissections of the game until I play the beta myself in a few weeks.
It's started, just to make sure everyone read. No gameplay yet though, just an interview.
If I'm satisfied with the beta would it be a good idea to pre-order?
They make this look so shitty when they're constantly jumping between players right as they die.

I hope the players are allowed to record this footage for their channels.
Does it feel weird for anyone else for a character in that time period to be talking about the "Legend of Lawrence of Arabia"? I'm sure there were probably sources that referred to him as such at that time, but it just strikes me as odd.
Jesus I hope this isn't the beta build. No real new weapons from the alpha, the entente is flying around in DR.Is and gothas still even though they showed the camels and capronis and everything in the trailer, what's the deal?
Pretty sure I just saw a guy put his head up the horses' ass to mount it
Some info for people who are interested and didn't catch the stream:
[sp]-No ticket bleed on Conquest, now the score counts up and you only score by having flags captured.
-Animations for entering (and presumably exiting) vehicles.
-The armoured train has 6 seats and an anti-air cannon.
-Vehicles are significantly slower than the modern games.
-Building destruction is much more detailed, with wall internals/supports visible.
-Horses look to be very versatile. Fast, tight turning, and able to jump over obstacles. Good for running people down, if they're not shooting at you.
-Horses are controlled in third person.
-Elite Classes are pickups. Seems they're in set locations rather than being semi-random like the pickups in Battlefront.
-The anti-tank elite class's anti-tank rifle has to be mounted on a bipod to use.
-You can mantle over high walls now, rather than just chest high walls.
-Flametrooper has a permanent gas mask, highly restricted vision.
-You earn warbonds as you play. I have no idea what that's about, though I've not been keeping up with the finer details of the game.
-Armoured cars can drop mines.
-Bayonets are as cool as you would think.
-Quite a few glitches, obviously still in beta. Pouches losing sync with the character, clipping into horses to mount them, etc.
-Dynamic weather looks great. The third round was significantly darker than the first two due to cloud cover.
-When you kill yourself it now says "ACCIDENT"[/sp]
Not a whole lot of new stuff, but it's interesting.

I know the stream isn't over but I doubt there'll be more information than that.
Neebs in the chat at the end of the last game: "World peace"

That's a weird capture point layout.
Its meant to be the capture point for vehicles

Ahhh, good old DICE environment hitboxes.
True marks of lazy development.

I guess the artillery truck was at gamescom, good job literally never showing it on stream lol.
This FT variant looks really powerful, probably going to be nerfed. The coax makes a huge difference.
There was another FT variant with an autocannon, too.
Not sure where they got the idea the ft-75 had a co-ax. Then again there's only like 2 photos of it and very little information so idk.
It wouldn't bug me so much if it didn't seem like the coax wasn't so good. Looks superfluous imo. I really hope I don't end up eating my words about how balanced vehicles felt in the alpha.
The coax wouldn't be nearly as useful if the turret traversed slower.
With all the awesome stuff we are seeing from BF1, I'm extremely hopeful that this means DICE will be willing to take more risks with things like 2143, 1944, and maybe even Vietnam again.
Holy shit, horses have got to be the most terrifying thing on BF1 at the moment. Out of nowhere, some bastard can come riding up on you and just cut you down like it's nobodies business. Also it seems that dynamite doesn't actually connect to objects anymore(no suicide horses ; ~ ;) but still, I do love how the tanks are an actual threat.

Honestly a big part of my excitement for BF1 is because it means a new Battlefield game set in WWII again as the next game after just got a whole lot more likely, and that's what I really want. Especially so because they've been building out the technology to really make a great successor to 1942 and improving upon the things it couldn't do well (like naval battles) because of technical limitations of the day.
Hour of raw gameplay.

Rifle grenades!
judging by a tooltip, Warbonds work like money in Hardline, you buy your equipment with it.

At around 34:15 you can see the attack plane can select a front-firing semiautomatic cannon.
Also, it seems like the elite class stuff might fit over your existing character model instead of being entirely its own.

Seems to make sense instead of suddenly turning into another character model.
One of the fighter varieties seems to be a "trench fighter" with downward firing machine guns.

(LevelCap's video @19:13)

Man, LevelCap's gameplay is getting worse and worse by the video, below average for me.
20 minutes spent in a heavy tank - check
Getting ass-raped by snipers - check
Getting ass-raped by pretty much everything - check
Forced to stick to (armored vehicles) - check
Waiting for base horse to spawn - check
Waiting for powerup to spawn - check
Spends 10 seconds to customize setup, but uses fuck-all other than primary - check
Useless outside a tank - check
Turkish voices - check

Some people play pretty badly when they are not quite used to a game (or model of mouse and keyboard) yet.
Even though i have played a lot of battlefield games, i was pretty crap for a few hours playing the closed beta of BF1 until i got a hang of it.
