They're ALREADY talking about Premium? The beta's not even out yet fuck me
The game's out in 2 months, that's almost kinda late for talking about season passes as far as AAA games go.
Yeah people have been asking for Premium for awhile because at this point it's a given.
And having clear future plans is never a bad thing. For once we know what we will be getting for the premium service, bf3 and 4 were vague as fuck at the launch of the services. So, we are getting 4 maps per dlc, and presumably one weapon per class+ something all class, per dlc (or 5 weapons for a class, per dlc). And i would assume, based on the text, that the maps featured in each dlc will have their own, unique elite classes exclusive to those maps. That is actually pretty cool.
Some BF1 Premium news France and Russia confirmed, free map Giant's Shadow available in Dec 2016.
Nice to know, now I can preorder.
The game's out in 2 months, that's almost kinda late for talking about season passes as far as AAA games go.
That's sad
137$ for the ultimate edition after taxes, ouch
That's sad
How? That seems exactly like the right time to start detailing all that stuff. The main dev team is done with the actual game for the most part, so they can move onto making post-release content.

[editline]24th August 2016[/editline] It's a longshot but I hope they actually make the maps available to everyone for free and only put weapons and such behind the premium wall. That would actually make premium MORE worth the cost for me as I'd be assured the maps would always have player and not be dead the second a new expansion hits. I fucking despise having a divided community when it can easily be avoided.
I think he meant it more that it's sad that announcing DLC 2 months before the game is out is actually considered standard procedure now.
Why? Should premium only be announced at launch after everyone has already preordered/bought the game? What difference does it make? The only reason I hadn't preordered before now is because I was waiting for premium to be announced. I enjoy knowing that the game will get long-term post-launch support and will happily pay for continued development of high quality content. DICE has always delivered interesting and diverse maps with their battlefield expansion packs and I don't think we would get that same level of quality without this business model. The $130 price tag is kind of shit though, it's historically been $100 I believe so that's a pretty significant price hike.

History, it's always been 110, although this time it's one less expansion pack (4 instead of 5)
It's because it includes the Deluxe/Early Enlister version which is normally $80. My only problem with Premium so far is the change from 5 to 4 expansions, but hopefully that means each one will be a little bit better. I feel like both BF3 and BF4 had at least one weak expansion each.

The new system makes it flow so, so good! Changing it to the old system would ruin one of the things which made the game as fun as it is. I really hope they will heavily take note and look into it, and actually not just let it be a loud minority vs silent majority thing.
Maybe they should just have Conquest and Conquest Classic.
they'd be way too similar to justify having two seperate gamemodes, especially because they can split up server pops
I miss the days when maps were free and expansion packs were actually expansions Remember Bad Company 2 Vietnam?
But then you also got situations like 2142 where there was one xpac and it added roughly the equivalent amount of stuff as a modern BF DLC. Sure it got a few more free maps, but we still get free maps now. Hell they gave away all the BF4 DLC for free at this point.

They might as well starting giving DLC for the older games for free as well. There's almost no servers that are running the BF3 expansions so even if Premium was a dollar no one would buy it.
I'm still waiting for them to say fuck it and just release 2142 for free. I mean the game is dead might as well, unless they plan to revive it someday.
I'm still waiting for them to say fuck it and just release 2142 for free. I mean the game is dead might as well, unless they plan to revive it someday.
Isn't it unplayable now? It would be weird for them to give out a game no one can play properly.
Isn't it unplayable now? But yeah they should honestly just pull a 1942 and release it for free [editline]25th August 2016[/editline] and do the same for BC Vietnam as well

That sounds awful. Who asked for an orchestral score? I want my dubstep fart noises and Inception foghorns. I won't forget this DICE.
That sounds awful. Who asked for an orchestral score? I want my dubstep fart noises and Inception foghorns. I won't forget this DICE.
DICE will feel my wrath

That is really good, especially compared to the themes in the last few games. It doesn't seem to have quite the impact/power to it as the BF1942 or 1943 songs, though.
Should I buy BF4 at its super cheap price? I enjoyed BF3 on the PS3, but if I buy this one, it will be on PC.
Do, even if you just want to play vanilla there seems to be a fair amount of activity.
the people that designed bf3's maps should be shot
