God, why do people play Dawnbreaker so much, that map is fucking garbage.
It's good if its not conquest large.
The only thing that bugs me about BF1 is the UI reminds me too much of Battlefront, font and all. But I'm not worried about the UI of all things.

Senior Producer at DICE said that they are considering changing the Conquest ticket system back to the old one depending on how feedback from the Open Beta goes
I actually like the sound of the new system puts the focus on actually taking the flags rather than killing, but unfortunately I can see older BF players who hate any form of change complaining about it.

I was a bit surprised at the reception to the change. Pushing players to cap flags has always been an issue in BF games. I don't really see how increasing the SPM when playing the objectives is going to be a bad thing for the game. You might see more fights around flags which will make for a more focused game.

I do like the increased emphasis on objectives, but the old system allowed for some amazing comebacks.
Planes and the Dreadnoughts will probably be absolutely useless in the new system since they can't really contribute to the objectives in a really meaningful way
I'm convinced they weren't. BF3 was designed with 32 players in mind because the consoles were limited to 32 and they wanted to be sure the game played well with 32. It does, but when people shove twice that many players into the maps they all fall apart except for the ginormous Armored Kill maps.
i felt like 48 was the sweet spot for the more open vanilla maps
too bad not many servers hosted that amount tho
I think right now the biggest problem with the point system are people outside the object who directly contribute to capping it or defending it, or someone defending an objective from within.

So what you're saying is that we need a region around the capture region that counts as battle area for flag protection?
so do the points actually matter now somehow or why are people suddenly thinking of problems with the point system
i haven't looked at bf1 stuff, do points do something other than e peen there
Bf3 felt like a prototype for Bf4, almost everything in the follow up feels like a fix for a complaint with the previous game. I just wish there was an expansion that was just all of the content from BF3, some of the DLC maps and weapons were surprisingly good

That actually wouldn't seem like a bad idea. There's been a lot of scenarios where, not limited to just the class, I'm a sniper just outside the area where I can keep a lookout for my teammates within the cap zone and I feel like that is very helpful when they want to know from what way defenders are coming from and I'm able to spot. Doesn't make too much sense to have all of us in one smallish area to be slaughtered.

Aftermath had some pretty fucking good maps

Aftermath was Close Quarters but better.
MAV on vehicle heavy maps is proper fun because of all the mines and C4 everywhere

Anybody knows what the best headset would be to take advantage of surround sound? With my current stereo ones I can't even tell if someone is in front or behind me, just different flavors of "louder to your left" or "louder to your right".
It's especially frustrating if I'm trying to tell whether someone is above or below me, it sounds exactly the same.
People in the headset thread are telling me I'm better off with stereo but they seem full of shit to be honest.

You are better off with stereo headphones.
But you should check out Dolby Headphone (or similar).
Hahaha Levelcap uploaded a 40 minute highlight video of Sinai and he forgot the audio.
Amazing.

Exactly what I was thinking, the map with the dug out uh, construction site(?) was especially good
Markaz Monolith might have been my favourite map of all bf3, epicenter was a really good close quarters urban map and the other two were good close quarters maps as well.
I can't remember most of the BF3 maps anymore and I didn't play the last DLCs very much anyway. I do recall enjoying the CQC maps though. With 16-24 players they were really fun with the microdestruction and all.

I do wish they bring back the BC2 version of Oasis, specifically the Conquest part. The fighting in the town was sublime and I feel like the games after BC2 lacked in urban fights where you can enter and destroy every single building.
and I wrenched the topic to destruction, does anyone else wish it was toned down a bit? instead of a building lose half its facade when someone sneezes at it with a 40mm grenade smaller explosives could actually make small holes. tanks loaded with HEAT or APFSDS shouldn't blow away an entire wall either. if the destruction they have on the tall concrete barriers etc where you can chip away smaller parts was implemented on most buildings mapwide it'd be brilliant.
Holy shit I completely forgot about Endgame and Armored Kill. Endgame's maps were great and the armored kill ones were good to. Reminded me a lot of bf2 maps with how large and open they were.
it's a shame that almost no US servers run the dlc maps for 3
(yo ea give premium for free you gognards)
End Game was fucking sweet, played CTF with 3 friends, we had like an 85% win rate :v:

I have the Astro A50 set and it sounds phenomenal to me. A little costly but I believe they're a great competitor to senheisser which was my previous set that I've owned for at least 5 years.
I haven't used them a lot lately mainly because playing with roommates on my PS4 so it's a little hard to recall how precise with direction of the sound, but definitely has been well worth my money. Although, just came to mind, aircrafts and land vehicles resonate quite well, I have been able to get a good guess at least in what direction they're in.
Does anyone know what time the beta will start for Insiders?

Aug 30
Aug 30
I mean like the exact time, like midnight or sometime.

can't find any specifics released on their social media
this would be the most accurate though

Dice has been pretty shitty with this whole battlefield insider thing
They advertised it for early access not only to the beta, but to news and other things. I didn't receive a single e-mail from them - and the early access is only one day and you can't even preload the beta. I don't see the point
that feel when you're literally the only one defending an objective
