Battlefield Franchise Megathread V2 - 'The Future of Warfare Is in the Past' Edition - Games

I am usually super pessimistic about Battlefield titles but this genuinely feels super good. I have no idea what people are talking about when they say that the game lacks depth??? Conquest changes alone are infinitely more interesting than typical tickets, and the vehicles actually are unique and not just "plane, other plane with slightly different guns", but actually have roles. I mean fuck, the medics actually have to pay attention to where they put their health packs

I think it runs pretty well for a beta. It only kinda slows down with lots of explosions and shit. I still want proper AA settings. What's with FXAA and TAA being the only settings?

I'm also really glad the sandstorm is part of the weather system and not guaranteed, like in Gulf of Oman in BF4. Also, that it dissipates after a bit [editline]30th August 2016[/editline] Also, how does the arty in rush work? And are there still tickets in rush? I didn't have time to check when i was playing this morning before classes

After downloading the new nvidia drivers my FPS went from 50+ on medium to 20 on lowest. If I get into combat it's a slide show. So that's neat.

Why the fuck are cavalry so tanky? The primary tactic right now is to just ditch the horse and run around with massive hp and a saber slashing down anyone.

I've really enjoyed the sniper so far, has been working really well for me in close range too, the one two punch of sniper and then finishing with pistol works really well and both weapons feel great. This might just be the most fun I've had with BF since like... BF3 beta or something.

You would die really fast otherwise since you're a really easy target high up on the horse.

There is no reason for them to be this tanky, you can just walk up to people shooting you and whack them twice with your sword.

I played about 2 hours and I really really enjoyed it. There's still some issues and I ran into a few bugs but I had a lot of fun. Especially as a cavalryman, riding along ridges and running over and slicing up the half dozen snipers sitting up there. also holy memory leak [img]https://i.gyazo.com/f4f3884230693f2fefe443f14178891c.png[/img] Game went from running at 80 fps on low on my mediocre computer (which is better than BF4) to slight stuttering, to awful stuttering to just outright crashing. I really hope that gets fixed. Pretty pleased though. It feels good to be playing a game and using bolt action and semi-automatic rifles again.

This map was a poor choice.

I'm loving the game so far. Sniper feels much better, it feels like I can actually get kills with them now.

Also I noticed this; Do you not get a spot bonus from the flare gun? I was using it constantly, but even when I watched someone kill someone marked by my flare, I didnt seem to get a point bonus like the motion sensor.

Lmao went head to head with a Calvary in the middle of the desert baton vs a sword. I think if you click at the right moment it can deflect the attack, when he would charge I'd click just at the right moment and hear a metal clank

Yeah you can count me in with the memory leak crowed as well it really sucks you get good rounds then once action starts picking up it just frame skips in intense situations. Usage in control panel goes through the roof as well.

Overall, my R9 280x Crossfire is not holding up at all. It's sorta depressing tbh. This game does give me some BC2 vibes though, and this beta has reaffirmed my hopes that they'll at least fix some of these issues within the release.

What's worse is that since its switchable graphics, I have a completely competent video card sitting in my computer that can't be updated because the driver packages are inseparable.

Anyone currently experiencing troubles with joining servers? My friends and I got kicked out of a rush match, and now it fails to join anything else.
