I never thought the big machingegun in the F-point of Sinai is the best weapon ever. I picked it up after playing/dying for the first time ever in the beta and ran to C and remained there until the end of the match, gunning down every enemy I saw. My squadmates even spawned on me and gave me ammo and health every now and then. I ended the match with 19-2 KD, though we lost. :v:
I am not sure we are playing the same game, then. The worst I've had is some prompts getting stuck, being unable to vault over some obstacles, and peoples equipment slingshotting around their waist (which looks funny but usually stops after a moment or two). BF3's beta on the other hand had me getting shot from inside the ground, people going invisible, and some real wonky animation and physics glitches. [editline]31st August 2016[/editline] Apparently there's a bug that prevents class progression. The details aren't solid, but it seems to be that occasionally, if you play more than one round on any given server, you will stop progressing that class until you change. For what it's worth, I'm rank 30 with 4 in medic and 2 in support and assault.
I guess I guess I'll just have to constantly switch then. My first session 2 hours and I mostly played scout and I'm still rank 0
Some are, but Battlefield ones have always been about finding bugs and getting feedback for tweaks for the final release. Hell they might even entirely revert Conquest back to its original mechanics based on feedback from the beta
Yeah, DICE really cares about finding bugs with an open beta and totally isn't forced into this by EA. Just like, the open beta for Battlefield 4, where the final game had more bugs than the open beta.

Remember shit like the stretchy-neck worm soldiers?
cool I'm now level 15 and still rank 0 in every class
Can you even see the progression of the class rank? I still have no idea how to raise it or if i am even getting it at all. Don't really understand whats the point of it, how it worked on bf4 was good enough.
How long is the beta for? I got shit to do so I'm away from my Xbox today and tomorrow
Well that was quick. This video is frustrating as fuck though.
I found a 59 second video that basically said the same thing :P Unfortunately it doesn't work for me. I'm wondering if its because there's two graphics cards in my machine. [editline]31st August 2016[/editline] Disabling the crap card ends up giving me a "can't read main display driver" error instead.
I was under the impression that was for actual customization (logos and things like that), not attachments. I don't think they've mentioned at all that there will be anything other than the pre-set stuff in the game.
It says that its for "customising weapons to your playstyle" so its probably attachments as well as cosmetics.
Honestly maybe its just because I'm used to 32p conquest normal but bleeeh I'm really on the fence about the game. My #1 complaint is that tanks at the moment are waaay too powerful because now only 1/4 infantry classes can attack them (effectively anyway) and it also just highlights that 3rd person for vehicles is the dumbest shit ever, nigh-omnicience around the tank because magical floating camera of outside perception.
cool I'm now level 15 and still rank 0 in every class
I'm at level 12 or something like that and still 0 in every class. Surely something must be broken?
I'm level 19 or something and just hit rank 1 on medic after playing not much but him. [editline]31st August 2016[/editline] I have complete confidence this shit will be addressed by launch.
I get 9 fps and my video card fan goes bonkers, I stopped playing because I was worried my computer would melt. Hopefully I can fix it so I can play. Have no issues with any other game, so maybe its the fact this is in beta
PSA: the beta has a bug with class ranking. If you stay on the same server for more than one match, your progress will not be saved beyond that first match. You need to keep reconnecting
Anyone else can't connect to servers? It loads then says dropped connection.
Some are, but Battlefield ones have always been about finding bugs and getting feedback for tweaks for the final release. Hell they might even entirely revert Conquest back to its original mechanics based on feedback from the beta
Not to agree or disagree but Battlefield 4's beta was literally a separate build that received extra polish and was essentially made to be a demo. It ran great and didn't have a lot of the gamekilling bugs that the final release had. [editline]31st August 2016[/editline]
Honestly maybe its just because I'm used to 32p conquest normal but bleeeh I'm really on the fence about the game. Assaults also are missing their AT rocket gun which means right now for a solo player to kill a tank they have to throw both AT grenades and get both dynamite pretty close to the tank, which is really hard. Every time I've gotten into a vehicle I went on an epic killing spree where as in the Alpha I had to be more careful because there was more cover for infantry and AT rocket guns are great at ambushing.
How long is the beta for? I got shit to do so I'm away from my Xbox today and tomorrow
Ends 2016/09/08 Also I hate this map. Sinai is a terrible choice. It's far, far too open to play a class that isn't the scout. It only becomes tactically reasonable to use another class once you're at the little village towards the end of rush. I want the alpha map. :(
Here's a PSA on why you should always put mines on the traintracks. [vid]https://my.mixtape.moe/qlufix.webm[/vid]
For those with kit unlock issues. Through https://www.battlefield.com/career you can change your loadout and buy weapons locked via kit restrictions.
Ok I fixed my FPS issues; apparently 100% render scale is actually super sampling the fuck out of the image. looks like 50% is actually 1:1, which is weird. I now can get 40 fps on ultra which plays fine. After playing a few rounds, it really takes me back to some of the memories I have of 1942, but with the pacing and action of BF3. I never played BF4 or Battlefront. Flying the planes is a blast, although I shot at the bomber for like 2 straight minutes without taking it out as a fighter. The sandstorm was intense, I saw it coming from far away and it's eerie as fuck. Horses are hilarious and satisfying. Basically, it's pure fun, wish it had a little more depth and variety but theres only one map and I only had the starting stuff. The attention to detail is great and the sounds are amazing.

Well I do like the game and the optimization is amazing (running everything on Ultra) but there some things that are really annoying. Some specific map parts on Sinai, some weapons being waaay too useless and not really being able to do anything against tanks.

Played a few rounds of Battlefield 1, wasn't really impressed. Feels kind of like a mod for the new battlefront, which I'm not a great fan of anyways. Battlefront's only attraction was the star wars theme. Think Battlefield 1 is going to be a no from me. Much rather play battlefield 4 for it's feel and gameplay. Fair enough if you enjoy BF1, more power to you. Just not for me
Nothing like playing a game of tdm when the enemy team has all but 2 objectives the entire game.

Battlefront was just Battlefield but with laser weapons and basically no ironsights. Battlefield 1 has regular guns and has ironsights again and that's taking away the things that made Battlefront feel different, so how the fuck is it like Battlefront?

Perhaps it's because I don't play on normal difficulty. Classic and hardcore wouldn't let you just run around soaking up bullets. Also Battlefield 4's weapon variety included some weapons that had recoil and different play styles, whereas to me, most of battlefronts weapons felt samey, just hold left click and no recoil issues at all. The weapons were exactly the same regardless of range, for the most part. Also as far as I know, there were no other difficulties in battlefront. Spotting and massive health pools made the game feel too easy and arcadey, which is really what I don't want in a shooter. Battlefield 1 beta feels the same in this regard. The interesting weapons are pickups, massive health pools and spotting. Sure there may be other difficulties added eventually but as far as a day 1 purchase, it won't be for me. I'd rather not buy a game and then have to wait at least a year for it to be enjoyable like battlefield 4 was. Vehicles with the ability to repair it yourself without having to get out and expose yourself to enemy fire seems silly, having an engineer class prompted team work, having the guy commanding the vehicle provide cover for the poor bastard who has to get out was part of the fun. So far it just seems like a sprint around and spray your gun at people kind of gameplay which is very reminiscent of battlefront. Not to mention the location based weapon pickups and 'hero' style characters. That and just spawning in vehicles in mid air, rather than having them take off from the ground, kind of takes away from the feel of things being connected.

Health is back to the same as it was in BF3 or BF4, it has the same weapon variety that BF3 and BF4 had, weapons aren't recoilless lasers that you can just hipfire all day long. Those are the defining things of the changes in Battlefront and all those changes are completely gone in BF1.

From what I've fired of the weapons, there's not a great deal of recoil, for seemingly old shitty weapons. It's just not the same man, that's how I feel. If you're opinion is different then fair enough, I've explained why I feel the way I do.

Health regen only exists on 'normal' servers. Battlefield 4, most weapons including assault rifles require some recoil management. Regardless of server difficulty. Battfield 1, most weapons that I used felt like I did not need to do any sort of management at all. Battlefront, all weapons have no recoil management at all. Battlefield 4 when I play hardcore/classic have much smaller healthpools so you can't run around soaking up bullets. The opposite is true for Battlefront/Battlefield 1.
