Yeah but 4 headshots from 5 feet only deals 45 damage? I don't remember it ever being quite that bad.
I agree that it seems a lot lower and there also seem to be a lot more one hit kill options in this one but maybe that's just me.
Playing RO2 for a couple years has prepared me for dominating scrubs with the Gehwer at any range.
Tickets get to 150 and the announcer guy is like "We're halfway there."
There are less than 2 minutes left in the game.
This timer is garbage. Round always ends as soon as you start to really get into it.
Yeah, the more I play it the more I dislike the new Conquest. Bring back the old Conquest system, let medics see ANYONE who is available for revive, maybe a syringe if they can be revived and the exclamation point if they're calling for it, and holy shit make the light tanks have less health, there's no reason they should be as strong as they are when they're supposed to be the "Light" tank
All this and we'll be golden.
I don't even think I can fairly say anything about the new conquest mode because of the timer. So far, I have no problem with it, but it's hard to tell just how different the game flows when every game ends at about halfway to completion. The games seem closer, but there's so many reasons why that might be. I do like the new scoring system that heavily encourages people to PTFO, not that that stops those asshat snipers who do literally nothing but sit on a cliff and snipe all game.

Remove snipers from Battlefield when?

I like that I see a lot of ad hoc squads moving between capture points because capturing disproportionately rewards players so much. Makes for pretty cool moments that feel more organized than your average Battlefield.
The ultra quick pace kinda ruins that in the end though. Despite all the equipment being older, I still feel like this game is way faster than BF4. This makes BF4 seem like ARMA in comparison.
Overall I'm lukewarm about the game. I do like it, but it's frustrating because it feels like it's just a handful of tweaks away from being really great, and I can't believe that DICE would make those changes because they're not changes that appeal to the mythical strawman casual player that I'm not even sure exists.
Is it weird that I feel like I had an easier time killing people in bc2 then in later games? Eventhough statisticly bc2 guns did less damage right? I don't know maybe my mind is just playing tricks on me, but I just feel like it takes a lot longer in bf4.
I keep accidentally killing my self as the flamethrower guy because I keep forgetting the flame physics and that I'm not actually flame retardant with that kit.
Also I heard somewhere you can actually blow up the land bridge but I've thrown a shit ton of TNT at it and nothing, is that claim false?

What up my homie, just me a single light tank carrying an entire team.

Eventually after I took out enough landship and armored trucks they couldn't spawn anymore armor?

Yeah you've basically summed up all my problems with this game basically (that and the fact that there's really no ranged anti-vehicle weapon). I think the map ties into it though when it comes to round timers. They could be really increased or hell, maybe even removed.
Also, I am very interested to see if these weapons are just pre-sets. I know that attachments are likely coming since there is an option to customise guns, but I'm curious as to why they've only given us presets. Avoiding spoiling certain options, potentially?
I think scouts should definitely start off with a basic bolt action with just iron sights though
I think scouts should definitely start off with a basic bolt action with just iron sights though
Absolutely. Scopes should be rare, so that people aren't naturally inclined to snipe, especially with the default loadouts that people learn the game.
If all Scouts start with a scoped weapon then everybody will just equate it to "the sniper." Scouts are actually really damn powerful when played well and can easily rival Assaults and Medics in killing power if you're a good shot. It's worth picking a Scout just for the great bolt rifles. If you start off scouts with ironsighted weapons, and make the scope variants only unlock much later, then people will learn to play the class with a more aggressive and closer ranged play style, and it'll carry over into how they see the class. Scout would be "the bolt action class" rather than "the sniper class".
Game design is all about conditioning and tricking players into doing the right thing.
The only thing I've disliked thus far is the fact that horses are essentially vehicles and therefore take more than a few shots to take down, which is frustrating. Then there's how the rider only uses his sword on one side; a few times now that's put me in a bad spot.
Other than that I think it's spectacular, so far.
Yeah time to kill seems a lot higher than previous games.

The guy you shot at here had the cavalry loadout including heavy armor, which is why he takes so many hits. Still a bit retarded that the damage doesnt scale correctly when you hit him in his unarmored face :v:

I think the fact that the cavalryman swings on only one side is intention. That way if one is barreling towards you, you have some way of surviving by moving to the side he cant swing, instead of just having to either accept death or try and killing him as quickly as you can
I've heard there's a bug with horseless cavalry where they have as much HP as the horse? I've gone on disgusting killstreaks running around with a sabre because of how tanky the guy is.

Seriously, playing scout aggressively should not be underestimated. I had been having a bad run trying to play medic and I decided to just go back to what I know works so I played Scout and the two games that I did I was top of the scoreboard, getting multiple multikills and just all around doing well. I still wish allies that got kills off your flares gave you something though.
I seriously wish I had recorded some of the runs I had. I had shadowplay running but I didnt think about recording it until way after the fact.

Agreed, the Russian gun is fantastic and all but i've had better, and more fun, runs with things like the Gewer.
Guys, I think I broke my horse

I pretty much exclusively used the carbine SMLE
Starting to run into a lot of genuine hackers, guy on a horse with 0 hp kills me from 100 feet away with a sword - yeah right
e: Now an invisible guy running around with an MG15

So as it turns out you DO get a spot bonus when an ally gets a kill off you flare, it just seems to be very buggy. I've used flares liberally since I started playing and I only just now got a spot bonus for it, when I've watched people get kills while my flare was in the air before.
any fix for the 'server disconnected - lost connection to the server' issue
anyone?
I actually got in this time so I dunno. Fixes itself with time?
This map plays just like Golmud Railway.
I mostly stick to the town, i'm useless everywhere else.

Bayonet charges are fucking satisfying. Stabbed a whole squad from behind while they were charging to C.
Jesus fuck the tank is stupid OP
And I love playing it.
Is it possible to turn the small cannons faster than normal? It takes forever to just look around cause they turn so slow.
But I have to say, I love them. They're super satisfying to fire and it feels awesome looking out of the hole in the blast shield, sighting some enemies or a tank, and letting a round off, and then actually seeing yourself reloading it instead of a cooldown bar or something. :ok:

Use A/D to turn the cannon quickly and the mouse to fine-tune your aim.
