I picked it up, but couldn't use it for some reason. Do I have to be prone?
[VID]https://fat.gfycat.com/ApprehensiveFarflungEmperorpenguin.webm[/VID]
When the game gets release, I can already see a server that host a Jousting duel in the middle of the desert.
Not necessarily prone, just next or on a surface where the bipod can be deployed.
Simply crouching also works i've found. If you can use it every way except just standing up, kinda defeats the purpose of needing the bipod imo, just a contrivance at that point.
I blew up an armored car with just one bullet. I'm not sure if it's that strong or the vehicle was just badly damaged already.
Is it possible to turn the small cannons faster than normal? It takes forever to just look around cause they turn so slow. But I have to say, I love them. They're super satisfying to fire and it feels awesome looking out of the hole in the blast shield, sighting some enemies or a tank, and letting a round off, and then actually seeing yourself reloading it instead of a cooldown bar or something. :ok:
It's even more satisfying when you're using them to indirect fire on an objective while friendlies are advancing on it and you get kills that way. Even if it is completely random, but I got 4 kills in one round doing indirect fire. I would imagine it would be really good if you had a buddy acting as a forward observer for you so you know where your rounds are landing.

There's a special place in hell for people who use the light tank
It's funny when people on the opposite team start getting banned by fairfight for using cheats.
Anyone noticed the weird shimmering effect around sand?
Are snipers the only useful weapon in this game? Everything else seems both horribly inaccurate and weak.
Anyone noticed the weird shimmering effect around sand?
Heat waves.
Are snipers the only useful weapon in this game? Everything else seems both horribly inaccurate and weak.
That's all I've gotten consistent kills with. Anytime I go anything other than Scout, the best I can hope for is a 1:1 trade. Rarely do I survive more than one encounter as Assault/Support/Medic.
Holy shit I was on E point when it was suddenly swarmed by enemy infantry but I was using the anti tank rifle so I just charged at them wildly and I ended up clubing 4 or 5 people in a row before they took me down.
Are snipers the only useful weapon in this game? Everything else seems both horribly inaccurate and weak.
The medic rifles are very useable, and the SMGs are decentish up close. The LMGs (at least the starting two) seem pretty trash though. They suck compared to SMGs at short range, they less accurate and do less damage than the medic rifles at mid range, and get sniped at long range. They should really start with bipods since that's about the only thing that makes them worth using
Seriously if you spawn a tank and then lose it within 10 seconds you are trash and should just be forced to sit out for an hour and think about what a fucking catastrophically retarded jackass you are

Like being simultaneously being bombed, shot at by tank, followed by a suicide bomber a second after the bombing run right after you spawned. Or that beautiful anti tank rifle that spawns at E.

I rolled light tank to see what it's like. Holy shit, people are retarded. Like, I understand it's a bit OP, but don't go screaming in chat because you kept sprinting straight at me with a bundle of grenades and I put a charge of grapeshot through your chest. Half the twenty kills I got before the match ended was people obliviously running down the street pretending I wasn't there, one decent tank battle and two guys who actually put up a good fight trying to flank me through the streets. Everyone else was just retarded.
Fucks sake, i'm so tired of spawning into a plane only for the pilot to take an immediate nosedive into the sand.
I've been knocking out tanks pretty easily once I started to really learn the game. Most people don't drive tanks well, which makes them easy to ambush with the AT grenades and then follow up with some AT rifle shots to finish them off. If you have a tank, especially the artillery truck, firing from long range, that's where things get difficult. The AT rifle is really good at long range and more accurate and easy to aim than a tank's cannon, but hardly anybody has it, so I'm often playing Assault because nobody else on my team tries to kill tanks. Once I embraced Assault as the Anti-Tank class that just happens to have a SMG, everything started fall into place and I started to do much, much better at the game. While I do still think there's too much armor in the game (I think you can spawn 3 tanks per side, which is crazy), once people unlock stuff and learn to play I don't think tanks will be as big of a threat as they are now. Same as how in Battlefront, Imperials always won in the beta because nobody knew that you were supposed to shoot the AT-AT, but a couple weeks after launch Imperials almost never won because taking out the AT-AT is pretty easy when a team actually shoots them.
In that case your luck is so terrible you shouldn't even be allowed to play >:(
haha what?
Wait there's weapon unlocks? I can't even access the my soldier tab and I don't see any progress bars.
So the FK 96 Field Gun is now my favorite weapon in BF1. When used appropriately it wrecks EVERYTHING. As an added plus you can snipe from crazy far with it AND it can be used at near point blank range without endangering you. Not to mention that reload animation and sounds are heavenly. Glitches aside this is one weapon they've really nailed.
I love those moments with the FK where you're defending and you disable a tank and kill some guys and another tank is rolling towards you / slowly aiming at you and you realize you need to aim and reload and you're just like, "Oh fuck, oh fuck, oh fuck". Heart pounding.
I'm having too much fun peeping over walls and cover with the periscope binoculars.
SNIP
It feels like every kill is properly earned and I appreciate that.
I've managed to pull off this "get in the rear mg on the attack plane an kill that little shit who's attacking your plane from behind then hop back in pilot seat without crashing" trick. It was so good I was genuinely laughing after that.
