just encountered a player that thought this game was unrealistic because "cars didn't exist in ww1"

I'm most excited about empires edge tbh, having a battleship as a behemoth would be fun as fuck.
please let empire's edge be full on 1942 iwo jima style

Has gameplay of the city maps been shown anywhere? I've only seen these massive open plains akin to Sinai Desert, and I'm wondering how much different it'll be in closer-quarters areas.

They've only show 2-3 second trailer snippets

Less of a sniperfest, hopefully

Also, great time for the EA servers to shit out, just when I start doing good :v:
My biggest problem with BF1 is that this is some fucking cheeky pricing
That's the collector's edition with the game. The standard $120 collector's edition doesn't come with the game
It's a joke
please let empire's edge be full on 1942 iwo jima style
Rowing boats please

It was absolutely terrifying havinvg a Landship drive over me, legit thought I was going to be crushed but I was in the right spot and it was just a bit too high over me to crush me.
What a moment.

Yeah, I'm hoping at least one of them is a street war with more of a focus on support and medic classes.
I'm also curious to see how "WWI" weapons would make an impact on what's basically BF1's version of Operation Metro/Locker, especially since automatics aren't super overpowered in this.
What do you mean automatics aren't super overpowered? The MP18 has a higher dps than the Model 10 at point blank.
I want to like that idea that scopeless bolt actions should be an all kit weapons from a historical point of view, but from a gameplay point of view I feel like it would homogenize the classes a little bit like how having both DMRs and Carbines be all kit weapons in BF4 did. I like the class balance in this game, I just wish scout was played more as a rifleman by more people than as a sniper.

I dunno, from what I'm hearing accuracy tends to be bad when you're running and gunning with an automatic.
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I switched to Medic, who has a semi-auto, almost immediately.
My experience is that the autos are only viable at very close range. They become peashooters at anything remotely distant and notably more so than other BF titles. The 900rpm m1918 trench is my favoured one for close range cause it works well for spray&pray from the hip

Could make all class bolt actions inferior to recon class bolt actions.
No scopes, definitely.
Could have shittier RoF or shittier accuracy.

kinda expecting the battleship to on rails as much as the actual train
Had a game were the timer went up instead of down, felt much better to complete the game rather than run out of time.

Same. We actually managed to push the game almost to a draw.
I gotta be honest, and it's strange because i haven't felt this way about a game in a long time, but i'm actually kinda sad that the beta ends soon, because then i'll have to wait almost two months to play it more. I'm enjoying this as much as i loved Bad Company 2.
I agree, this might easily be my favorite battlefield yet as long the other maps are as fun.

Was the zeppelin? I'd think if you can drink the zeppelin everywhich way in the sky then the ship would be similar.
Honestly after some thought I might consider grabbing Battlefield 1 for my birthday over Dishonored 2. Gonna not pre-order though, last time I pre-ordered based on a open beta that was Overwatch, and that got boring after the initial wow wore off and I got super back into TF2 thanks to the MyM update. So yeah gonna wait to see how reviews and post-release are.

What a moment.
i've tried this several times but somehow i always manage to position myself under one of the tracks
funny how that works
The fact that the Beta is getting updates after a few days is a good sign for the future of this game. Still gonna wait till post-release to buy though.
Just went a 49-10 match the Model 10 Heavy with slug rounds.
Jesus Christ, I swear the thing has like absolutely zero accuracy penalty because shots after jumping/running are all dead center in the crosshair and one-shot 90% of the time. Bloody hell, I actually thought I was using buckshot at first as the thing was so damn good with scoring one-shots in CQC.
Can't believe that for once, slugs may be superior than buckshot.

Oh yeah, they just removed the time limit in conquest so god bless

There should be the option where there is no timer because that sounds really cool

Crazy how nature do that.
What gpu do you have?
An 8970m, but I think its mostly my CPU bringing things down. Its always at 100% load when BF1 is on.

Literally on top of your post I mentioned on how DICE removed the Conquest time limit.
It's fucking great because matches now last 10-20 minutes longer and comebacks and close call moments are being more common now.
