Also I don't know if it would be overpowered or not, but it would be cool it you could jump on top of a tank and trigger an animation to open a tank's hatch and throw a grenade in. Maybe you would throw it in the exhaust and it would damage the tank.[/QUOTE]
There was something like this in the alpha but people weren't sure if it was something some from the single player or just a cut feature.
Had a game where the enemy armored train parked infront of A so I got on the AT and it never moved or shot at me
Took awhile but I blew it up
manning the AT guns is so fucking good. also, did the update make it so you can throw AT grenades much farther? like im getting double the range while throwing them.
whOA the tank buster cannon on the attack plane owns
except against tanks

It does like less damage than the rocket rifle. For how difficult it can be to land a shot on a tank and how easily planes can be destroyed in the blink of an eye, it's annoyingly low.
I wish they'd let planes, like, not explode immediately because they got [I]close[/I] to the very top of a tree.
i use the tank buster to one shot bombers and wipe inf squads in buildings
and you can get quite a few shots in on trains before they wreck you
[editline]5th September 2016[/editline]
speaking of, bombers are unfun to fly
Sniping Calvary with the TH planes is the most fun shit, and taking out snipers. Some of the most fun experiences i have had though are close calls flying through the canyon in the fog escaping other planes though.

Bombers are fun if you have a good gunner that you can give good angles to destroy infantry. Then you become a retro AC-130 pilot.
I love horse combat, I always just switch to melee and go swooping around C and F. Best killstreaks of the game.
I guess the more primitive tech makes the game more fun than guided missile jets and rpgs. Even scouts don't seem that annoying yet.
Definitely considering to buy this game once reviews come out.
You wouldn't think driving a train forwards and backwards in a FPS would be fun but somehow it is.
I played some more medic and they definitely need to make the ally health icons larger. I usually try to heal allies as much as I can, but I was still having people yell at me for not healing and I just couldnt see that they had low health because the icons are so small.
game is fun, probably gonna buy day 1
as always, fuck planes and snipers though, goddamn
footsoldiers need more options in taking down planes
[editline]5th September 2016[/editline]
also assault scout with SMLE carbine/russian rifleman/kar rifleman is the best
hopefully we can customize attachments though, was super disappointed to find the SMLE carbine had artillery sights, instead of irons

I'm sure every rifle will have a "Factory" or "Rifleman" option. It would be a bit silly for them not to.
mondragon is my favorite gun for medic, and the madsen mg and mg15 suppressor are good for support.
I came up with an idea for a trench based infantry map and I'd like to see thoughts on it.
[t] http://i.imgur.com/jS2RBXo.png[/t]
The X's are machine gun emplacements and the O's are field guns(in place of something like artillery). The zigzag portions are the trenches, the curved lines at the bottom indicate a steep slope that leads into a riverbed, which gives one flank path (it would be low enough that it would be out of the B/E machine gun's field of view). The other flank path is the dotted line, which is a tunnel that runs between A and D, but also goes under C. The C point is the husk of a windmill, basically just barely enough left to provide some cover from the enemy trench, but the C point is supposed to be very hard to take and hold.
No-mans-land is as you expect and is pock marked with craters and the remains of charred tree trunks. It's also littered with barbwire. The entire map would be about the size of the A/B/C/D region of Sinai, with each point being about as far apart as those points are, with C in the middle. I wanted an infantry meat grinder map, since people seem to like those, but one that fit the setting of the game and wasn't just points in a straight line, like op:metro and op:locker.
Anyway, what do you think?
Is it me or are the snipers absolutely useless as a class in BF1? In earlier BF's they had C4, spawn beacons making them fairly useful for a squad but now all they got is their rifle and a flare gun. And with deaths not counting as ticks anymore kills are more or less worthless beyond clearing an area.
This compounded with the fact literally half the team is always snipers just makes me wonder.

I don't think all the classes have all their equipment in the beta. I've heard medic is also young to get the repair wrench and I know support is getting mortars again, so it's very likely scout may still have a spawn beacon, or even some other new equipment we don't know about.

Also pretty sure scout is supposed to be more of the baseline generic soldier class, but since you start with a scoped rifle, everyone's ended up playing then as a pure sniper

What? It's a tank buster? I thought it was meant to take out infrantry fast because shooting tanks with it felt like I was throwing rocks at them.

Funny thing is, we have more options now than ever for taking out planes. Every gun does some small amount of damage and specialized things like K Bullets, AT elite kit, rocket gun, etc can put a hurting on them when well aimed, not to mention AA turrets and the train, as well as other planes and vehicles. Meanwhile in BF4 you had useless lock-ons because countermeasures unless your whole squad had them, or lucky C4 drops, dumbfire rockets, sharpshooting tanks and jet ramming.
I feel like even in beta we're in a decent place with anti-air and i'm sure the full game will have even more.
The tank buster planes are so good.
Right after round start I was able to fly across the map and basically harass a landship to death before it even reached the first point.
They're pretty much better than any other planes at taking out infantry and even chasing down planes.

The fact that I am actually getting points with airplanes in this tells a lot.

Man, so many things happened in this clip.

Speaking of which, I haven't had much of a chance to play the beta beyond a couple rounds yet, but what's the intended use of flare guns, exactly?

I've managed to actually kill pilots/gunners playing as support class. Aiming slightly off the center in the direction they are travelling will make your bullets hit the plane or person.
So satisfying seeing 'Enemy Hit' and then the kill notification come up on your screen after unloading a magazine onto a plane

I can't even hit planes as a rear gunner. The bullets just fly past or right through the plane but no hits.

I think I got a spot bonus from one once.
Another dumb question about flare gun: am I supposed to shoot it above the enemies or next to them for spotting to work?
Pretty sure you just shoot it and it has a radius in which it spots enemies a la Motion Sensors.
playing scout, shot the pilot "97 damage"
