Battlefield Franchise Megathread V2 - 'The Future of Warfare Is in the Past' Edition

Planes are pretty easy to take out now actually. They added some degree of module damage making it entirely possible to snipe the engine out on bombers
The shrapnel shots from tanks also can really fuck a plane up if they get close enough.
i made a relaxing lil vid of me doing tank stuff, it is not very impressive or good but it is here

i think the tanks are the most fun they have ever been
The A7 is actually pretty horrifying in this. It really doesn't have any blindspots so the only real ways to take it on are to lure it into the city or another tank.
Bombers are fun if you have a good gunner that you can give good angles to destroy infantry. Then you become a retro AC-130 pilot.
It's not fun to fly tho! They're big and slow and huge targets for anyone who is slightly competent at flying
At least the attack plane has a decent amount of maneuverability
The A7V is cute
I spent way too long making this. It's my first time making a video over 30 seconds with Vegas, so any constructive criticism about the editing is appreciated.

Does no one realize the pickaxe can repair vehicles? I havent used it yet, but it says it does in the description.
BF1's atmosphere would benefit a lot from more contextual vocalizations - shouts of caution around tanks, like in the trailer, for example, or taunts to the enemy, etc.
I'm that person that spends an entire match of Conquest in an Artillery Truck with the Flak Gun and just shoots down planes all the time, when people try to take me out I either run them over, gun them down or wreck them up with the Flak Cannon, I've gone through entire matches not dying once and coming either 1st or 2nd on the scoreboard.
I loving taking out Bombers.
[editline]6th September 2016[/editline]
Yesterday I spent about 3 - 4 minutes taking down the Armoured Train in an Artillery truck with the Artillery gun on it, just went I'm about to finally destroy it, some cunt dive bombs it and steals ALL THE SCORE, like I didn't get a single assist or anything, no points for aiding in taking it down, fuck all, and I dealt more than 75% of damage to it aswell, but nah, last hit is where it's at.
You got way more points than he did for the damage you did to it over time, but killstealing in BF is pissing me off. Assists should just be counted as kills because more often than not you did the brunt of the work. This sucks with high spread weapons like LMGs and occasionally the shotgun and really fucks with my K/D, it's like you did 99 damage to a guy with a shotgun and he stepped on a nail and died and the nail was credited with the kill. Like nah that was my kill.
Another dumb question about flare gun: am I supposed to shoot it above the enemies or next to them for spotting to work?
The flare creates a cylinder of spotting radiating roughly 25m from the flare with what seems like infinite vertical range. If you fire it at an angle this cylinder passea over and spots enemies, if you fire it straight up it keeps that cylindet on your position. It spots people standing still as well as moving and works against enemies indoors
I survived a whole round as a bomber thanks to my sexy gunners, while I would drop bombs on anything. Tanks, buildings, a single soldier running from a point...
so much fun
Tldr its the motion balls from bc2 or bf4 but you shoot it instead of chucking and only get two shots for some reason
quick performance question;
I'm planning on buying this game. I have a i7 2600k 3.4ghz, and a nvidia 680gtx 4gb. If I buy a 1070/1080 now, will it give me a good boost for BF1, or will my cpu bottle me? I am planning on getting a whole new rig soon, but if a new gfx card helps me run better I see no reason to buy it all at once.
I do really want to like this game and I approve hugely of the setting and gameplay changes but the French being omitted for DLC is just a dealbreaker for me.

Their "DLC" is supposed to rival the main game in terms of content, so I'm not as skeptical.
Speaking of DLC, anyone know if DICE is gonna make the maps free and only charge for the weapons or other marketable stuff?
I remember reading somewhere that BF1 will have free maps to prevent the playerbase from being split while only charging for things like weapons and other mostly aesthetics shit.
Then again it might just be me being a dumbest and confusing Titanfall 2 with BF1.
Fuck the MP18. it's not a SMG, it's a fucking sniper rifle. It needs a nerf.
[editline]now[/editline]
Also, I know K Bullets are inlcuded because there are not many AT options and historical acuraccy/realism, but having snipers that can take infantry AND armor from across the map makes me want to rip my arm off and throw it through the internet to that scout's face.
K Bullets are completely shit though. They plink for 4 damage at the most and you only get 5 of them. And by the time you finish those 5 their fast repair is off cool down.

Sounds like you're mistaking it for Titanfall, there's a hefty premium pass available.

That might sound good out of context, but considering EA, that most likely will just mean that the base game will be unfinished, and they'll sell the rest of the content as DLC.
Ah right, should've checked it myself.
Sucks that it's that way though, hopefully they'll be a little bit kind and maybe give us one or two free maps during the game's post release cycle.

Do you know of a lot of multiplayer shooters that launch with 24 maps? I don't.

I wasn't aware of the game having 24 maps at launch. That's pretty neat actually.
Don't get me wrong though, I'm not trying to bash the game for being EA. I've really enjoyed the game so far. I'm just really skeptic due to games such as Battlefront.
Where can I read about the launch content? I'm very curious.
I think it's going to have have 9-10 maps at launch, which is on par with every other Battlefield for as long as I can remember. I'm pretty sure his point is that it's not releasing unfinished and all the dlc is basically a second games worth of content.

It doesn't, but with the DLC it will have 24 maps, maybe a few more.
My point was, you implied that the game will be shipped "unfinished" to sell DLC, as though 16 extra maps were developed pre-launch and cut. 24 distinct launch maps is unheard of in any game of this caliber in the last decade.

Case in point, space fights in dice battlefront
:(
I really like the game and it is something i want, but is anyone else put off getting it because of the season pass? I'd rather wait a year and get the game + pass for cheap than buy it right away and only have what feels like half a game a year later.
Don't think I've seen anyone bring this up but I was reading a post on reddit about the announcer and apparently if you disable the announcer the soldiers will shout instead if your team takes or loses an objective, it's just that they always did it but the announcer would speak at the same time making the soldiers a lot harder to hear when they say it.

Buy the game around when it comes out then buy the season pass when all the DLC is out? You could wait to buy both too, but it's all up to you. I've generally been pleased enough with Battlefield game's post launch content that the season pass is worth it to me(except hardline, but that's more because the player base died, I thought the game was ok) . I get hundreds of hours out of these games usually so paying for more stuff doesn't seem to unreasonable to me.
