It doesn't, but with the DLC it will have 24 maps, maybe a few more.
My point was, you implied that the game will be shipped "unfinished" to sell DLC, as though 16 extra maps were developed pre-launch and cut. 24 distinct launch maps is unheard of in any game of this caliber in the last decade.
I'm not sure what you're trying to tell me. You told me the game launches with 24 maps, but now it doesn't, and with the DLC it's 24 in total?
And yeah, I did make an implication I suppose. I'm basing my skepticism around previous titles. But it remains to see what the game ends up being like.

Can we bring back bad reading? He never said it launches with 24 maps. His point was it is launching with a standard amount of maps and after all the DLC it will have 24, which is more than standard for a game nowadays. Meaning its not cut, it is extra, and this is based on the rest of the industry not just DICE's history.
I only bought BF3/4 after a year or whatever and it was like $20 for the premium. imo $120 isn't worth it for a game and neither is $60 just to not have access to all the content in a few months. Well, at least for a multiplayer game.
Don't think I've seen anyone bring this up but I was reading a post on reddit about the announcer and apparently if you disable the announcer the soldiers will shout instead if your team takes or loses an objective, it's just that they always did it but the announcer would speak at the same time making the soldiers a lot harder to hear when they say it.
I noticed that last night
Thought it was really cool but it made me think
"How does he already know we got B when we're both over here at F? I don't see a radio"

Don't need to be so mean. I misunderstood what he wrote, that's true. Reading it, it did sound like something else.
I don't think me wanting a more fitting rating than "dumb" is mean.
is there a way to bind the mouse x axis to yaw instead of roll? I'm trying to edit it in the mouse bind section in the options but it wont let me
Wish I had footage to prove it but I managed to shoot the pilot of a bomber on horseback. Was pretty funny when someone started complaining about it in the chat.

I end up feeling bad for landing such bullshit shots. but then when I'm on the receiving end I'll just nod in respect.

Like countersniping landbridge scouts from B with the Mauser rifleman
Not easy, but damn is it satisfying
[editline]6th September 2016[/editline]
Speaking of "countersniping" it always makes me laugh when I see that pop up after stabbing someone while running around C
Neither of us were really "sniping", so was it really a countersnipe, or just a regular old kill?
My favorite luck kill so far was shooting randomly at G while coming up on it and scoring a direct hit on a presumably damaged enemy tank that I didn't even know was there, on the other side of the hill. Ever since then I've started firing into the city and in usual hot spots and occasionally I score a kill through blind luck. I've been called a hacker a few times
More hilarity ensued when, after being rammed and forced to bail out of my bomber, I landed right next to a heavy tank and proceeded to destroy it by hammering away, all whilst keeping in its blind spot.
What is up with the support class, half the time the tripwires just do not work at all and I get shot in the face trying 3 times in a row by someone who would have died to the wire, if I am placing it incorrectly why does it use ammo and not appear? The Ammo crate is awful, it takes so long to tick over that it feels completely useless compared to the pack.
Also, why on earth would anyone want to use a gas tripwire?
Damn I can't wait for the full game now. I get serious 1942 hype from this. I never really got into any BF game after Vietnam. BF2 maybe a little
K Bullets are completely shit though. They plink for 4 damage at the most and you only get 5 of them. And by the time you finish those 5 their fast repair is off cool down.
Rear armor hits do more damage, so while i think we need more than five, it's enough to scare off a tank or help the team take it down. I've gotten a few tank kills from them.
This compounded with the fact literally half the team is always snipers just makes me wonder.
Probably because the map is one giant open field with very little cover and the entire south side of the map is a sniper perch.

I'm sincerely hoping that Treyarch's going to the Activision higher-ups going "look at that shit that DICE pulled, let us go back in time too since the other two CoD devs are making future games"
I say Treyarch because they're the ones who did BO3, and thus, now have the most time to work on a new game, since theirs won't come out until like November 2018.
I'd like to see an era of triple-A WWI games ushered in, then work back through the years to the future again.
I do really want to like this game and I approve hugely of the setting and gameplay changes but the French being omitted for DLC is just a dealbreaker for me.
Why
Speaking of DLC, anyone know if DICE is gonna make the maps free and only charge for the weapons or other marketable stuff?
I remember reading somewhere that BF1 will have free maps to prevent the playerbase from being split while only charging for things like weapons and other mostly aesthetics shit.
Then again it might just be me being a dumbest and confusing Titanfall 2 with BF1.
A free map will come out shortly after launch but otherwise it's standard premium expansion stuff.
Why
To be fair charging for historical accuracy is pretty dumb.
[editline]a[/editline]
Though to also be fair I guess you can't really charge for anything else in a historical game except for a "Secret Weapons of WWI" akin to the SWoWWII
That might sound good out of context, but considering EA, that most likely will just mean that the base game will be unfinished, and they'll sell the rest of the content as DLC.
This isn't how it works at DICE
[editline]6th September 2016[/editline]
To be fair charging for historical accuracy is pretty dumb.
To be fair they aren't charging for historical accuracy, they are charging for guns and maps and maybe new vehicles and a new game mode.
I think there are some major flaws with the collison physics for aircraft, something that seems to be a recurring theme in Battlefield. For example you can ram other planes to death and survive so long as you started out with more HP. This encourages deliberate air to air ramming since you can initially inflict a small amount of damage and then finish them off with a ram.

And an entire faction of a war?
[editline]a[/editline]
People got mega-pissed when Total War: Warhammer did the same thing by making one of its major factions preorder DLC, it makes sense that people'd get at least semi-pissed about this too.

Several of the guns in BF1 are mentioned in the video... have a bite of history :D

This is a good comparison if you completely forget the fact that factions in a Total War game are not at all comparable to teams in Battlefield. If you don't like the game to begin with then whatever but I can't imagine not buying a game that I otherwise find enjoyable because I can't wear a certain skin and use a certain bolt action rifle until March 2017.
i dont think the game explains this, why are some guns/gadgets locked with some wee rank icon next to it? it doesn't say a certain rank number so i've no idea what it means
Though to also be fair I guess you can't really charge for anything else in a historical game except for a "Secret Weapons of WWI" akin to the SWoWWII
considering a lot of the stuff in the game already were experimental weapons and stuff where only a few of them ever existed, there couldnt be an expansion like this.

I want the RSC Model 1917.
I want the RSC Model 1917.
When I heard the French were going to be added in DLC, I immediately figured this would be the Medic weapon added with them.
I'm really hoping the BAR and Thompson make it into the game. The BAR was actually used in the last 3 months of the war, and the Thompson was ready for combat testing near the end of the war but didn't make it to Europe in time. Although I'm sure with all the prototype weapons made in limited numbers, these will probably be a sure thing.
[editline]6th September 2016[/editline]
Also I'm really hoping the Ross Rifle makes it into the game. It would have a straight pull bolt like the Gewehr 95, but would probably have a further one hit kill range to emphasize that after it was found to be unreliable in trench conditions it became the main sniper rifle used by Canadian and British forces.
Do we know what time the beta end on the 8th? I haven't been able to play it because I'm not at home but I get back late on the 8th. Hoping they extend it a day because of the downtime I heard about, but I doubt it'll happen. I really wanted to try out BF1 and I was unlucky enough to have to leave on a trip for 2 weeks right before it started.
There has been intermittent downtime through the entire beta. Like right now I can't get into games, even though I'm connected to EA online, but i was playing just fine yesterday. Also at no point did my class progress continue other than that first day that they "fixed" it. All the issues they "fixed were undone at some point over the weekend. I get that it's a beta but it would really be nice to see communication from DICE on these issues. Launch is going to be an absolute nightmare.
Is there any way to tell if I got the beta dogtag?
