Maybe instead of giving us first aid packs, they should just automatically have the larger kits. There's nothing fun about having to spam the little packs every time.
I mean it does prevent the enemies from healing from the pack, but it's a negligible thing.

the smaller packs are better for when your moving as a small group, like with your squad, and the big pack is better when your fighting with a large group of people in a clusterfuck. They're both super good just for different situations. [editline]15th September 2016[/editline] I feel like the smaller pack heals faster too. [editline]15th September 2016[/editline] The large ammo crate is just shit though. You get everything resupplied from the ammo bags but the crate takes ages to resupply anything that isnt ammo.
my god the new origin looks like fucking shit
The fact that it's all shoved into one window is just weird.
I need to play more BF1 but as of right now it might as well not exist. No lock ons, fun air combat, the bizarre equipment, I neeeeed it

No lock ons, fun air combat, the bizarre equipment, I neeeeed it
I've been playing a lot of BF4 since the beta, and I'm having fun but its just not the same. I want my Lee-Enfield and Gewehr 95 and Madsen back =( I miss being able to fly and not have 20 different things locking on to me too.
BLOPS 1 comes to mind, and it had a server browser. I remember seeing crouch-only servers quite often.
That's six years and five, almost six, games ago. Not a single CoD game since BO1 has had a server browser, and the most recent one is only just now getting one and mod tools. [editline]16th September 2016[/editline]
Maybe instead of giving us first aid packs, they should just automatically have the larger kits. Both have their advantages. Throwing a quick kit in a small group keeps the pacing of the battle up on bigger maps and keeps you from getting grouped up and blown up, big kits are good for small maps or bigger groups. Or meatgrinders.
I hate how the BF4 M16 doesn't kill across the map EDIT: I guess balance is nice though EDIT 2: Is there anything you can do about Kobra sights being invisible against snow
It does on Hardcore.
It does on Hardcore.
The damage is the same anyways, it's just not as accurate. I'm liking the AN94 though. Hardly loses accuracy from firing, no first shot recoil until the end of a burst, and can kill extremely quickly up close with a single burst to the head.
You could try changing your RDS reticle color in the options. Though I think with the super immersive 2013 neX gen bloom present even on low, it's still going to be hard to see.
It really doesn't. [t]http://puu.sh/rcHY3/0a26bcc700.jpg[/t]
For its purpose, it seems to work well. But then again, I only use Origin to launch games, that's it. In comparison, I use Steam to browse the workshop, look for new games, etc. That experience is very refined and easy in Steam, but would be a pain in the ass in Origin as it works now.
The UI is too big in the new origin, that's the main problem.
Recons seem kind of crap compared to the other classes Recon: Spawn beacon that's only useful if your squad gets wiped often Drones that leave you down a man while in use and are hardly better than spotting from a vantage point Motion sensors that make you check every angle anyways because they don't detect anyone standing still or crouching Anti-personnel mines that aren't very hard to spot Meanwhile Assault: Can negate death Engineer: By far the best infantry anti-vehicle capabilities Support: Gives teammates an infinite supply of rockets and grenades
I love recon. Most of my time is spent with the beacon and MAV, but I use the TUGS occasionally too. I find the motion sensors a bit too unwieldy and unpredictable for my taste. The spawn beacon is great because you can leave it in sneaky places and go into fight for a flag or whatever. I've won more than a handful of games purely by putting a spawn beacon in a key spot and keeping a flag in contention. The MAV is fucking great and I've been gushing about it since Battlefield 3. For personal use its a good way to get the lay of the land but I get a kick out of purely MAVing. It's definitely a weird way to play the game and I'm sure I am in the vast minority that actually finds it enjoyable but if you can pair yourself up with a good slayer or two the advantage it brings is great. On larger scale maps it doesn't do much simply because your chances of encountering vehicles are so much higher but on smaller conquest maps and particularly TDM it can be a very powerful tool. Recon is my most played class, narrowly followed by assault, then engineer. I find all three useful in their own way, with most of my time spent playing recon supporting the team rather than sniping from a hill side. Support is the one class I feel was weak in BF4. LMG's are rarely better than assault rifles at most ranges and his non-ammo, non-C4 gadgets are mostly gimmicks. The UCAV is absolutely hilarious though.

Usually when I play support I just pick a carbine/DMR/shotgun, the main draw to it for me is that I can give my engineers an infinite rocket supply so we can hold against tanks. Recon gadgets aren't bad, it's just that the other classes have great and essential tools while recons provide conveniences.
The main appeal for the beacon in my experience isn't to counter wipes, but that is a nice aspect, it's being able to respawn from unconventional places, sometimes by air (which can be a good or bad thing). Also if you are in one of those squads that don't necessarily need it, you can leave it at another flag to spawn on in case it's captured or goes neutral. Like I said it's always been part of my kit and I always find it useful, and I'm gonna miss it a lot in BF1.
A good Recon wins games. They're that important, especially in the more focused game modes like Rush. The combination of spawn beacons and motion sensors are humongous force multiplying game changers. The spawn beacon and motion sensors are the whole reason I play Recon. [editline]16th September 2016[/editline] I hope BF1 gets some equivalent to the spawn beacon.
Playing actual recon in bf4 is completely core in rush. Use the heli drone to catch flankers and mark them at all times.
I hope BF1 gets some equivalent to the spawn beacon.
It wasn't in any of the leaks. Instead we are getting a shield that stops snipers from being meleed in the back, and a decoy helmet.
we are getting a shield that stops snipers from being meleed in the back
So I'll just be one-shotted in the back of the head instead?
So I'll just be one-shotted in the back of the head instead?
I guess v:v:v what I'm trying to say is we got some new gimmicky gadgets and lost the one that has been incredible since literally the alpha of Battlefield 3. Clutch beacons on Operation Metro Rush for days.
I thought the shield prevented you from being counter-sniped. That was the intention of the real life one anyway. [editline]16th September 2016[/editline] I like that the flares constantly spot enemies over the motion sensors that just sense, well, motion. [editline]16th September 2016[/editline] iirc the shield the Scout gets is supposed to be this thing

Every other sight I've tried shows up properly, although neon green isn't terribly good against snow. Sight customization should really just be built into loadouts.
It wasn't in any of the leaks. Instead we are getting a shield that stops snipers from being meleed in the back, and a decoy helmet.
i would be up for a decoy helmet that caused the scope flare to happen. scare the shit out of everyone and cause non recon units to suppress at absolutely nothing for no reason.
I looked it up and you are probably right
Trench shield (A shield that can be deployed to snipe safely from a prone position)
Dunno where I got the melee'd from back thing from v:v:v [editline]16th September 2016[/editline]
i would be up for a decoy helmet that caused the scope flare to happen. scare the shit out of everyone and cause non recon units to suppress at absolutely nothing for no reason.
The spotting scope does this, which is simultaneously useful (enemy units stay focused on you, totally unaware that they can't actually hit what they are shooting at) and a pain in the ass, because people will just run at you and try to murder you for spotting them. It can also cause your teammates to shoot at you. I had to ask one of the AT guns from B to stop shelling my position because I am friendly and to start shooting the train :v:
Just saw Monster energy drinks having a promotion for Battlefield 1. http://battlefield.monsterenergy.com/ Hmm.
Shame that's US only, I live in Stockholm and it wouldn't cost them jack shit if I won that contest. Oh well. [editline]17th September 2016[/editline]
Here's a cinematic to get you guys in the mood for October (even though you probably already are).
Really love that speech, one of my favorites. One part of that speech is in one of my favorite band songs
I dont like that all the scout gadgets promote long range sniping, aside from the flare gun.
Wow, my color grading/bloom toggle thing has kept working through every update since release.
