I dont like that all the scout gadgets promote long range sniping, aside from the flare gun.
It feels like a regression back to BC2. If Scouts were forced to use scoped rifles there would be no point for them being anywhere near capture points.
I love recon. Most of my time is spent with the beacon and MAV, but I use the TUGS occasionally too. I find the motion sensors a bit too unwieldy and unpredictable for my taste. The spawn beacon is great because you can leave it in sneaky places and go into fight for a flag or whatever. I've won more than a handful of games purely by putting a spawn beacon in a key spot and keeping a flag in contention. The MAV is fucking great and I've been gushing about it since Battlefield 3. For personal use its a good way to get the lay of the land but I get a kick out of purely MAVing. It's definitely a weird way to play the game and I'm sure I am in the vast minority that actually finds it enjoyable but if you can pair yourself up with a good slayer or two the advantage it brings is great. On larger scale maps it doesn't do much simply because your chances of encountering vehicles are so much higher but on smaller conquest maps and particularly TDM it can be a very powerful tool. Recon is my most played class, narrowly followed by assault, then engineer. I find all three useful in their own way, with most of my time spent playing recon supporting the team rather than sniping from a hill side. Support is the one class I feel was weak in BF4. LMG's are rarely better than assault rifles at most ranges and his non-ammo, non-C4 gadgets are mostly gimmicks. The UCAV is absolutely hilarious though.
Best thing about the MAV is exploding infantry and occasionally tanks with their own team's explosives.
The best thing about the SUAV is people getting hella pissed at you because of getting roadkilled from nowhere. I've saved points by just standing back and throwing planes :v:
i would be up for a decoy helmet that caused the scope flare to happen. scare the shit out of everyone and cause non recon units to suppress at absolutely nothing for no reason.
That just sounds like assisted suicide to me.
That just sounds like assisted suicide to me.
I'm assuming he means a helmet you place on the ground or something
Looking at the revive stats in my battle reports is distressing Look at the guy and press 4 then LMB like god damn
Trench shield (A shield that can be deployed to snipe safely from a prone position)
As if snipers that sit around on the outskirts of the map and contribute nothing to the team weren't enough of a pain as it is.
Its honestly a shame because I see myself playing a lot of Scout and it looks like I'll only ever really be using the flare gun and K-bullets and maybe to spotting scope since I'd be playing with ironsights. I was hoping for more interesting equipment that isnt sniper focused, but oh well. The decoy helmet seems interesting though.
You might be able to use the decoy helmet for ambushes, a la Decoy in BF4. Not many people fell for it, but it was fantastic when they did.
I came up with what I think is a pretty good idea for a counter melee system. Instead of a dumb QTE the victim would have to input a melee near simultaneously (like a fighting game throw escape), then they'd push the attacker back and both players would automatically draw their secondaries.
You might be able to use the decoy helmet for ambushes, a la Decoy in BF4. Not many people fell for it, but it was fantastic when they did.
The decoy was mostly for engineers on infantry maps since repair tools and mines where useless there.
The decoy was mostly for engineers on infantry maps since repair tools and mines where useless there.
Or ambushes if you're creative enough v:v:v
Decoy + c4 in a bush is the most hilarious combo. That's how I finished one of the NS assignments
Are they going to update Battlefield 4 to use an ingame menu instead of battlelog? After playing BF1 I wanted to play some BF4 but battlelog refuses to launch BF4, and now it's not even recognising the Origin is running.
That's the plan last I heard.
Thank fuck. Battlelog has always been finicky as fuck, but not letting me launch the game at all is just awful.
Bf4 on the xbone has the same menu/layout as bf1, i know it's always been ingame for the xbox but nice to see a new layout
I just happened to be checking my stats and I noticed this What are the chances lol
ehh id say fiddy fiddy
I went and ruined it, but in doing that I had my best round as a commander ever http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/battlereport/show/1/777713704375809600/201897052/ I was like 300 points off being the MVP I have a feeling that isnt too difficult to do on Pearl Market though.
I've been MvP 2-3 times as commander on 64 player lockers when the enemy didn't have a commander. [editline]19th September 2016[/editline] Pretty much the only map you can reliably do it on, though. [editline]19th September 2016[/editline] Mostly because the map is so small it's practically free radar hacks for your teammates.
I wonder if BF1 will finally manage to not have weapons that are better than another in every single way
If you played the beta, that answer is absolutely not
I wonder if BF1 will finally manage to not have weapons that are better than another in every single way
All the shotguns are nearly identical when it comes to slugs; That is to say, they all become trash.
Does the recoil pattern even matter on a pump action though? by time you've run the pump its reset to its original position.
All the shotguns are nearly identical when it comes to slugs; That is to say, they all become trash.
One of the few things i liked about Hardline. Slugs were effective. And there was a harpoon gun.
All the shotguns are nearly identical when it comes to slugs; That is to say, they all become trash.
What's wrong with slugs? They're kinda accurate and can one shot within a decent range.
Does the recoil pattern even matter on a pump action though? by time you've run the pump its reset to its original position.
The SPAS holds an extra round
What's wrong with slugs? They're kinda accurate and can one shot within a decent range.
iirc its the Defense squad perk line. The first perk, the body armour one, completely negates the Slug's ability to one shot. [editline]19th September 2016[/editline]
The SPAS holds an extra round
I wouldnt call "better in every way" though.
iirc its the Defense squad perk line. The first perk, the body armour one, completely negates the Slug's ability to one shot. [editline]19th September 2016[/editline] I wouldnt call "better in every way" though.
Yeah, but a headshot still works. I'm only referring to with slugs. There's no reason at all to use the 870 over the SPAS with slugs. EDIT: and iirc BF3 has this issue with 2 of the DMRs, can't remember which though
Who are your guys' go-to Battlefield Youtubers? I'm sure a lot of us watch Ravic's stuff but i'm also partial to JackFrags. Decent guy and doesn't seem to be all "all infantry all the time gotta dominate" like Levelcap and some of the others.
