I'm not sure about heavy barrel vs suppressor. I like my bullets going in the general direction of where I aim, but I also dislike everyone knowing my exact location whenever I fire.
Who are your guys' go-to Battlefield Youtubers? I'm sure a lot of us watch Ravic's stuff but i'm also partial to JackFrags. Decent guy and doesn't seem to be all "all infantry all the time gotta dominate" like Levelcap and some of the others.
Nowadays, just Battlenonsense. Excellent content, excellent suggestions to the things he thinks are broken, excellent presentation, and he's an old school Battlefield player who shares my dismay if what Battlefield has become. I used to watch a lot of Levelcap because he gave good insight into mechanics but the more I watched him and the closer BF4 came to the end of its life cycle the more I started to think his opinions were dumb. I really liked Matimi0 as a sort of alternate Levelcap who was similar to him, but with much more sensible ideas and thoughts versus Lvl's CoD player in denial thought process. I don't watch him anymore though because he's mostly into Rainbow 6 now. I still watch them both once I'm a while though for the alternate perspective and because I think Lvl in particular has a good pulse on the "popular" opinions of Battlefield players. I'll catch a few Jack frags videos once in a while. He's pretty inoffensive. Marbleduck does great mechanical analysis on how things in Battlefield work and what works best. He's a strongly opinionated asshole though, so it's not for everybody, but the info is good. I don't really watch Battlefield videos anymore now that BF4 is basically finished.

The old Conquest ticket system is coming back! https://www.battlefield.com/news/article/battlefield-1-beta-learned
Hello everyone! My name is Daniel Berlin, and I’m the Lead World Designer on Battlefield 1. I would like to give you all a big THANK YOU from everyone here at DICE Stockholm for helping make the Battlefield 1 Open Beta the biggest Beta in EA's history. It’s a real treat to see the game being played by our fans and newcomers alike! Every single issue you encounter, every bug reported, and all the feedback given is invaluable to us here within the development team. Trust me when I say that we listen closely to all of your comments. But what does this mean? Well, first off I’d like to talk to you about the Conquest game mode. When we build a new Battlefield game it’s important for us to try new things, we want to stay fresh and renew the franchise with each new installment. However, it’s equally as important that we take the feedback that you, the community, are giving us. That is why we're going to be making changes to the Conquest game mode ticket system for launch. The next time you play the game, capturing the objectives AND getting kills will both contribute towards the final score of a Conquest match. You have spoken, we have listened! We have also been monitoring and listening to your comments in regards to the Rush game mode. It’s super exciting for us to bring back Rush for Battlefield 1, and we are aiming to make it the best Rush experience to date. We are making tweaks to the game mode as we speak with your feedback as the backbone to the entire process. We're also looking into balancing other elements, including the weapons and vehicles. The Light Tank, which is a bit too effective in the Open Beta, will definitely receive some work, and we agree that Horses can take a few too many rounds at the moment. We've also learned through the Beta that you guys need more tools to deal with vehicles earlier, which we'll definitely look into (including a Gadget for the Support class which should help neutralize powerful vehicles). I hope you all had a great time playing theBattlefield 1 Open Beta, and I can’t wait for October 21st to come around so you'll be able to see everything else the game has to offer. Who knows, maybe you’ll find yourself on my Squad inBattlefield 1.
Honestly I liked the new system but I'm not too bummed out in returning to the old one. I just hope they keep the stupid high reward points for capturing and playing the objective. My main concern is that I felt that with kills being deemphasized, games were a lot closer in the BF1 beta. For whatever reason I rarely saw the huge blowouts that you get so often in BF4 and I think focusing the game mode on objectives was a part of it. I also feel like I saw comeback games much more often in the beta versus BF4. "Killing good" is still important obviously, as it denies bodies to capture flags, but I don't like the idea that one guy going on a killing spree in a tank or plane has that huge of a direct effect on the outcome of the game. Winning should be a team effort, and that's what the new rules emphasized.
Tanks could turn the tide of the game when used for objectives and not just running around racking up k/d. I won virtually every battle I took a tank in by moving from point to point with infantry.

Another gun to collection! [t]http://u.cubeupload.com/Coverop/bf420160919225729.png[/t]
Yeah, but a headshot still works. I'm only referring to with slugs. There's no reason at all to use the 870 over the SPAS with slugs. EDIT: and iirc BF3 has this issue with 2 of the DMRs, can't remember which though
if your reasoning is gonna be "oh i can just go for headshots ;-)" you might as well just pick up a sniper rifle, at least that way you won't have a disgustingly slow muzzle velocity on top of the projectile having gravity somehow pull harder on it. 12m/s², what the hell is that BS. the whole "gimmick" of slug rounds is that it rewards better aim by guaranteeing a OHK at close range if you hit your target and punishes bad aim by doing no damage at all. The defense perk completely negates the only reason of existence of the slug rounds. Buckshot and flechette can OHK despite the defense perk, slugs can't.
I watch Battlenonsense for his well-made and informative videos with a few Jackfrags in between. I also really like Marbleduck because of his informative and in-depth videos and his asshole attitude especially towards the stupid part of the cesspool that is the Battlefield community just adds to the enjoyment.
Four weeks until early preorder release, even sooner with EA access (but that will probably have a time limit of a few hours.)
How do I upgrade from the Standard to Early Enlister? Doesn't seem to be eligible for a refund.
No, it isn't. They've just combined aspects of the new and old system. Kill an enemy, gain a point for your team. Revive a dead teammate, prevent the enemy team from gaining a point for that kill. Kills now build up your team's tickets along with capping flags. That's not exactly the ticket bleed many were asking for, and I'm not too confident that supporters of the system implemented in the beta will like it as well.

This is honestly kind of what I wanted, a blending of the two systems.
Pigeon game mode Other maps

oh hell yeah that's a really good choice for this game

So no behemoth on this map? Or the rape train from the beta will also appear here?
For anyone who isn't well phrased on WW1 History, the Argonne is where most of the big battles for the United States took place, even the near-destruction of the Lost Battalion. Seriously, the story of the Lost Battalion is tear-jerking.
I hope Suez is Atacama Desert 2.0 Really loving the idea of Ballroom Blitz.
So, we have Capture the Pigeon.
My brother's biggest complaint about this game was the lack of artillery, and now pretty much every gamemode other than conquest has artillery in it. I told him that conquest wouldnt have artillery, since there's no commander and the stationary artillery guns in BC1 fucked with the gameplay in a lot of ways, and the artillery strike gadgets were annoying as fuck. the way they're doing it in these game modes is for the best imo.

That requires a higher degree of cooperation to use effectively than you're going to get with pubbies though.
Would be neat if they brought back the old BF1942 artillery system for BF1 or the eventual BF1944. Video is from Desert Combat, but it was the exact same mechanic. All it really did was give you a closer perspective of the target so you could walk your fire in. Aside from giving you a general direction to point in, you still did all the aiming yourself. BF1's weird ass drag mechanics make indirect fire make a lot of sense at long range.
I have to admit using the field guns was some of the most fun I've had in a battlefield game.
I have to admit using the field guns was some of the most fun I've had in a battlefield game.
I recorded an epic moment of us holding D with a field gun but it got corrupted :( Semi-related: Could you ever tell the spotting scope was doing anything? I tried to highlight people when you were flying or on the gun.

I don't think I've ever seen another multiplayer game where it matters outside of DM.
Pigeon game mode
Sounds alot like One Flag, only there's a capture timer when you get it to where it needs to go.
