Wait I just realized something. Wouldn't Alad V have known the entire time about the tenno's secret since he's been shown to cut them up anyways and made bots out of their components. He sounded surprised by the reveal in the quest

After a 30 minute long fight with Ruk I realised maybe my strategy of stabbing everything and sometimes shooting something with a bow is not as foolproof as I thought. What is the best machine gun you can get without platinum at rank 2? Whoever came up with the idea of putting a 500x300 pixel glow over the top of a 5x5 pixel weak point is only climaxed by the person who came up with the default control scheme.

Try the Karak. It's a really solid early game rifle till you get to things like the Tonkor, Soma and Sancti Tigris

Due to it's high puncture damage, it'll deal increased damage to Ruk and other Grineer units.
