Warframe Megathread IX - Won't somebody PLEASE think of the Children!

I have a whole bunch of melee weapons that I want to use, but I know they are not worth it. GlaiveP, Redeemer, Broken-War and Dex Dakra are the only melees that seem to be worth the hussle to be useful. GlaiveP because it's a throwable melee that deals good damage(Kestrel is also fun because ragdolls AND damage!), Redeemer is a fucking shotgun with infinite ammo that deals a ton of damage, Broken-War and Dex Dakra both melees with built-in catalysts and polarities and they actually deal great damage. I love the variety of melees we have, but I think all melees need to be buffed to be of any use other than a ranged weapon.
I played Mass Effect 3 multiplayer again recently, and over there, (heavy) melee attack is a good way to nearly if not instakill the target that got too close to you, and not even saying how melee attacks differ from character to character, even though on some characters they are repeated. Currently I see zero reason to use any melee other than those I mentioned, but heck even Broken War and Dex Dakra don't seem to be a good choice.
I just want melee to be better than a thing that occupies your third loadout slot and gives mastery rank points and only a couple of them are actually good. :(

I agree that melee should be better, but I want to give mention to just how powerful Prisma Dual Cleavers (especially with Naramon stealth), war/scindoP/galatine can be, and just how useful orthosP can be with primed reach. Several other weapons out there are excellent too, I've only mentioned what I have used, like I know that I've seen a volt running around with a jat kittag clearing rooms incredibly fast in T4S, but I've never tried it myself (researching it now).
Nikana Prime's also supposed to be pretty good- you likely will need a tater and Blind Justice or the other stance to really max out its potential.

It is even better than broken war taking best place at non heavy melee weapons.
Orthos Prime with Primed Reach maxed is the best thing ever. You can kill nullifiers outside of their bubble, and you can hit enemies through walls. That's how fucking large the range is.
Only downside is corpus ship missions. You WILL break windows. Even from across the room. That and it's not a melee you hold out, you shouldn't ever do that with Orthos, you actually attack faster by spamming E.
It synergizes very well with Mag due to nullifiers being the bane of your existence.
Only if there were visual cue showing the reach of a melee weapon.
Only if there were visual cue showing the reach of a melee weapon.
I honestly think the energy trails of a melee weapon should stretch out to show the reach, that way they don't have to edit every single weapon to have extendable handles or blades.
A fun sight to wake up to

Friendly reminder that thanks to the buff, Spira Prime blades sell of absurd amounts right now.

time to farm some spira sets
fucking hell
[editline]24th February 2016[/editline]
does it hold out against the vaykor marelok for sustained DPS and ammo sustainability?
Why the fuck does Spira Primes look like fucking drills. Or heck, the horn torn off of an unicorn.
Sweet rhymes.
The only melee that is worthwhile for me is the Nikana and it's variants (Dragon and Prime).
Simply because is one of the few single swords weapons and because of how light it is in comparison to the majority of the other melees with it's fast swing.
Thank god that I already have Blind Justice and Tranquil to add even more style to the slashing.
So you can get the mutalist nav coordinates doing orokin derelict missions right?
And what does the number on the title of the mission mean? I bought one for defense and it says Orokin derelict defense [1]

Yes, and the number means you have one key.
Me while running around with Equinox's day ult

Definitely glad I paid the plat for it (because if you were to farm tyl, rush all the pieces, and install a reactor to it, it would cost more than just outright buying the thing, which is insane)

Well I didn't rush it, and it's almost ready with no plat spent (after 30 Tyl Regor runs and 6 days of waiting) :hammered:
only 30?
lucky bastard

Well I mean sure but why do you have to rush all the parts? I have two prime warframes building right now, I can wait
How is equinox anyhow?
So what are you guys opinion on Mios? Thinking about crafting it for my Valkyr set.
So what are you guys opinion on Mios? Thinking about crafting it for my Valkyr set.
It's really fun and strong. I highly suggest crafting it.
Hysteria isn't affected by the weapon you have equipped.
Hysteria isn't affected by the weapon you have equipped.
Valkyr is still a fun frame to use outside Hysteria using melee. Just stack on armor and health and use Hysteria for an "oh shit" button.
Just a reminder that Hysteria IS affected by the mods, though, so if your weapons have shit mods, so will Hysteria suffer.
Not really concerned about that. tbh. I like how the weapon looks and it suits really well Valkyr's " Mutated " Warframe Design.
So what are you guys opinion on Mios? Thinking about crafting it for my Valkyr set.
It's pretty fun. Decent range, nice base damage, and above average status chance. The crit is a little lacking, but the 15% chance is still really viable for a berserker build.
it suits really well Valkyr's " Mutated " Warframe Design.
what
the two aesthetics don't really mesh at all
I have absolutely no idea how they think they're going to pull off Valkyr Prime.
I have absolutely no idea how they think they're going to pull off Valkyr Prime.
Look at gersemi skin and that is your base, then add some sparkly gold bits.
But, like, why would Prime even be a bezerker?
I have absolutely no idea how they think they're going to pull off Valkyr Prime.
Would be interesting if they designed it to look like a torn up Gersemi Valkyr Prime, maybe with some Corpus tech stuck on.
They could just make it based on Gersemi Valkyr with gold bits, but if they were to do that and didn't change the pained screams to something else, it would feel off.
