Well, I'm on ship 2. The character's name is Commissar
o cool an actual jp game that fpers play i might hop on this
Slowpoking here, but I'm a big fan of the Dreamcast and Phantasy Star has always been cool.
I'm curious to try the Japanese version with the guides and such, but I definitely will be picking up/downloading when the English version is released.

Nah, but this is how I feel about the Wedding Dress.
dont see many rappy suits or wedding dresses tbh
echo's clothes best clothes though
Oh by the way I would recommend not AFKing in the lobby.
People have figured out how to move others visually (to everyone but the victim) around, so what's recently been happening is some people got moved AFK to a unreachable places, someone takes a screenshot and reports to Sega, then that person gets banned.
You could probably appeal it... in Japanese.
Pretty sad how Sega seems oblivious to this despite the fact that people do it the same way they were moving NPCs around which they do know about.

Guess you would also be safe if you leave on auto run in the lobby.
So your real position constantly gets updated, over the guy who's trying to move you.
Which ship do you play on?
7, together with my brother and 2 of his friends. But we have not actually met in-game yet so i don't have any contacts :v:
The english community brought with it pso hackers. Or probably just one guy actually.

They are not oblivious. They are trying to deal with a problem. Not being able to appeal is our own fault for butting into a Japanese only game.
With previous games they'd ban english speaking people on sight, so they actually became soft.
Makes me think about when I wanted to play that PC Monster Hunter. Besides being pay to play, I was always hear about GMs banning those who speak English.

...No. They have no issue with people outside playing the game, the TOS stating you had to be a Japanese resident was removed since the release, though you do need to know Japanese to get support.
Not sure about PSOBB or earlier PSO Japanese versions, but in PSUJP they simply do not care. Japanese GMs even tried to communicate with some English players in English before. (Another thing is the Official English Forum has a Section for English people on the Japanese game, that should say enough.)
Though they do seem to be oblivious to the capability of people being moved around, else they wouldn't be so quick to ban innocent people being reported for being seen in unreachable areas. They have only mentioned trying to fix NPCs being moved with no words on real players.

Fixing the NPCs being moved should also fix players being moved, as I'm pretty sure its the same cause. Problem is, SEGA trusts the client too much for stuff since they want to offload as much networking as they can.

Oh yes, my point is they don't seem to be aware people can be moved as well by how they are just banning anyone reported to be in inaccessible areas.
They do have client trusting problems, but with this unless I'm missing something it would put even more stress on the server by having players update coordinates for other players and NPCs to the server when it's not needed. (Well at least Lobby NPCs.)
I don't get what the hackers point is. Wasn't it an outcry for a global release?
Doesn't doing this lower their chances of being part of the global game?

Anyone can do it, japanese or american. It just seems like most think the americans are the ones doing it so they're pointing fingers; it might be correct or wrong, but no one knows for sure.

That chat log someone on 2ch grabbed about teaching a lesson for not having "global servers" which then was shown on sites like Kotaku was someone unrelated that was around when the NPCs were being moved talking shit, earned themselves only a 3 day ban over it, but they were sure to cry all over PSOW about them not being the hacker and the ban unjustified. (Sega probably knew they had nothing to do with it, hence only a 3 day ban, probably over talking smack.)

The updater.
Yeah it's pretty slow.
That is just the patcher. It takes a good while, probably because of Japanese download servers or something.
God damn ninja.

I see. It's even worse because I keep getting dropped from the internet.

Oh i didn't mean it like that. I meant it as in trying to play a game made for Japanese people. It's the JP release, so you can't expect international things.

I probably know who does it, and he's doing it for fun. He started on pso gc, messed with psu, and now is doing this. It's never anything serious though.

Broomop? It's not just him doing it, it's him and some guys from InfamousGamerz and potentially other dudes.

It's mostly terrible in the Lobby area, where you have the people who rather treat the game as some sort of Chatroom.
PSU Clyez City 4th Floor comes to mind.

It's always multiple people. But yeah, i was thinking Broomop too. He's a bit of an attention whore.
I'll be playing now. I currently have no friends :(, I'll be on ship 21 to avoid the bullshit. Let me know if you'll be on.
I just downloaded this game, but I get a 242 or a 601 error whenever I try logging in. Are the servers down?

I play on ship 2 as well! My name is CrunchButtsteak ingame, and I will certainly be friends with fellow Facepunchers.

Found this guy standing next to the quest counter once.
God damn I can't play this game it's all in Japanese and I got overwhelmed. Just gonna wait for the english patch.
Just use the guide, you really don't need to understand the language to play the game.
