I just finished streaming 2 hours of this just now, since I'm trying to get a foothold with being able to stream games and such to people on Twitch.tv. I must say, The English patch makes a huge difference. I'm glad i waited for it to come out than to suffer trying to find out where everything is. It was more enjoyable than when the game first went into open beta, when everything was in Japanese. I enjoyed playing it during those two hours i went and said to my friend that i did enjoy playing it and i wouldn't mind uploading the stream to you tube. Even if the quality is shot up a bit. I know why though and i'll sort it out tomorrow.
Not everything is translated of course, characters are still talking Japanese in cut scenes, item names are normally all in Japanese but you can see the stat improvements with power between weapon and weapon and stuff like that. Quests are in English too, and NPC's have their names in English and such. Just need to wait until more stuff gets translated. But its a good start.
I must also say that even though i picked Ranger, i used that Gunslash/Gunblade weapon more than the Rifle and Grenade Launcher. It just felt more satisfying.

The gunslash feels too slow for me, honestly. It does more damage than an Assault Rifle outright, but all of its techs (so far that i've gotten) are melee-oriented with a shot at the end and I feel like i'm more effective with the rifle or launcher myself. Especially now that i've got the Sneaking Shot and Divine Bullet photon arts, respectively for the two weapons.

Welp, time for me to get back into this game.

What block are you guys on in ship 2? Is there a large FP or English community there? I made a test character on Ship 8 thinking I can delete and remake, but if I delete I have to pay so I'm just going to make another account if there's a lot of active people on ship 2.
Ship 2 has the largest amount of EN players, as for the blocks far as I'm aware:
Ship 2 – Block 20/21/22/30
Ship 10 – Block 20/30
Ship 6 – Block 20/30
I'm guessing FP are just mingling with the other English players.
Meanwhile, finally had the chance to solo these guys:

Dayum, I always thought the Hunters seemed underpowered, but with the right skills and timing, they look damn fun to play as at the least.

Are you using the Just Guard skill in this? Whats leveling it up do?

If you Time your guard just before you are hit (It's a pretty forgiving timing) you use no PP to guard, take 0 damage and gain very short invincibility, Combined with Just Counter it adds a Just Attack opening at the end of it.
I thought I couldn't love this game anymore.

Is this game like the Phantasy Star Universe that was on the Xbox 360? I loved playing that one.
Yes, although PSU is the worst PS game I've played so far.

Bit late now but I've deleted and remade my character without paying before. I think you only have to pay to have more than one character an account.

When it was in Japanese the game was intuitive enough with the guide helping for specific things (quests, using the vendors etc...)
The English patch helps by effectively putting what was in the guide into the game.

I've only tried ranger and force so far, but that looks pretty fun as hunter.
I beat those when i was level 18 as a ranger.
