oh, thank you. whew, I thought I screwed up something down the line of getting this to work
what a relief
I got into the lobby and saw players running around dressed as characters from Fate Stay Night, how do I obtain such things! I swear if they are from some RNG crap I'm gonna be upset.

as excaliburrr said, they're from a recent AC scratch obtained using real money. Most of them have a limited run, but every once in a while they can get revived in a later scratch.
go to the purple "?" visiphone in the lobby,
click on "player shops",
item search,
copy+paste one of the following japanese text there:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/sn33xqR.png[/t] saber outfit: 騎士王の甲冑
[t]http://i.imgur.com/leVykyf.png[/t] rin outfit: アブソリュートレイヤー
[t]http://i.imgur.com/l0PFLo3.png[/t] illya outfit: カレイドルビー
they're all going to be 500k+ by now i'd assume
which is easy to obtain once you're level 30+
illya outfit will most likely be 2mil+ tho
names of clothing obtained from: http://pso2.cirnopedia.info/costumes_6.php
there's also hairstyles you can buy but they're typically going to be even more expensive
500k sounds like alot, but if you say I can get that amount of money easy around lvl 30 I guess I should start grinding. How long does it take to get from lvl 1 to 30 :v:
[editline]22nd October 2014[/editline]
Anyway to remove my name over my characters head? The fact that it's there is pretty silly.

doesn't really take any amount of time at all
i'm an extremely casual player who takes forever to level up but i usually can get a character to level 30 in 18 hours on the playtime clock (i AFK a ton..). if you actually tried to grind it out it would most likely be 8 in-game hours?
you unlock hard difficulty around level 18-20, but in order to beat everything quickly you're best off being level 30 as most higher end hard content is around level 30.
usually the best experience comes from completing repeatable orders.

team orders npc - located in the gate area, near the class counter/medical center
daily orders npc - located in the gate area, near the exit to missions
daily orders give you a ton of meseta, and it's the main way to make a ton of money daily. Klotho also gives you a ton of money for very short work, but his orders are on a weekly reset timer.
you can easily make 50k-100k a day doing the most basic of daily orders, which can be done at any level after you've completed afin's tutorial client order.
the main hurdle will be unlocking newer zones, which requires completing new "arks quests" as you get them, then completing "Koffie's" orders which will unlock new zones/content for you as you move up in level.

[ESC] to open main menu
go to 5th icon,
quick menu
character name display options(?)
one of the later options which shows everyone's name except for yours (or any of the other 100s of options you can have)
i have my PS3 controller bound to open up the "quick menu" using [select], not sure if that's a default binding or not for controller
I found controller to be the best way to play.
For exp you can't forget about emergency quests, especially the mining bases.
Occasionally there will be an announcement along the line of "darkers are approaching Lilipa's <number> mining base".
When you see that message you should join a block of the highest difficulty you can do using the green elevators and prepare for the mission. (The announcement normally is 15 or so minutes before the actual base defense and every few minutes after that, there's a list of scheduled events here, but there are plenty of unscheduled events)
They give really good exp and drops (I've gotten 7 levels from a single run once) in exchange of being up rarely and being fairly hard to complete (especially on despair if your team is full of gits)
Also for mouse+keyboard, quick menu is middle mouse. Or shift numpad 1 for whatever stupid reason and I can't unbind it.
i have never actually finished a VH+ despair mining base (TD3) before; we always wipe on wave 4 or 6
my MPA is always filled with literally everyone, especially non-fighters, rushing the bosses, or ignoring the towers, and nobody has weak bullet, etc
as a fighter i'm not useful for much else other than collecting photons and killing bosses (breaking those darker towers too i guess), but just doing those two things alone keeps me at the top of the player rankings every round even if everyone else uses AIS.
one of these days i'll get lucky~

I don't know if it's just ship 2 but it I seem to be failing TD3 a lot more recently, whereas on 6 I'd fail very rarely.
My friends and I always joked around that if we were in the top 3, we were screwed. But recently it's been less of a joke.
I'm finding it quite hard to trust my parties these days too, like a darker tower would show up and I'd see a couple of people next to it on the map so I don't bother going to destroy it. A few minutes later that tower is lasering one of our bases and we lose it. I've had times where I'd have to get into an AIS just to handle all the god damn towers because no-one else is destroying them.
I don't get the descriptions for most of the daily orders, normal areas? Wat

when you select a quest it'll ask you for the difficulty
normal
hard
very hard
super hard
(and soon, extra hard)
"normal areas+" means anywhere that the monster appears

They're adding ultimates as a unique quest type for lvl 70+ players.
This quest(?) marker keeps pointing me to a elevator that only lets me go to my room or block switch, I don't understand what I'm suppose to be doing there..
As obvious as this sounds, have you checked your quests?
They are linked to your Matters board correct? I'm up to where it splits off into like 3 paths, each of those paths tells me to obtain a item and I think kill one thing.

ARKs road, probably telling you to go to your room to craft
oh god I just figured it out, wow I'm retarded.
Thanks alot guys for the help and putting up with my constant questions.
I just started again and boy do I feel weak. I used to have a level 18 Ranger but they disappeared, so now I'm rolling up a Gunner.

It's a confusing time to be a gunner right now, they're trying to balance the class so the way the class plays completely changes every month or so.
Keeps it fresh I guess.

Well, if that's the case, I might switch over to Fighter. Unless they're doing the same thing there :v:

Don't get me wrong it's still a lot of fun, you just have to get used to your favorite skills/combos becoming obsolete randomly.
As far as I know, it's only gunner being changed around at the moment.
gunner and bouncer are the funnest classes ive tried so far. especially since gunner lets you do invinicbility flips.
if youre in the team, waffle, feel free to ask for anything.
I'm really liking Fighter. Fist weapons, dual-ended polearms, and dual blades are 3 of my favorite weapon types in games, so it's perfect.
There's no penalty for going out on quests with AI bros right? I really like playing the braver the idea of timing and block counters really has me going. I unlocked hardmode and I've been going hardmode even if the quest doesn't require me to... as long as I have a full party of bots and they're not over 10 lvls above me.
Only lvl 27 at the moment and only have about 350k dosh, I really want 1mil so I can get costumes! Money making too slow...

Once you get to level 50 getting money is too easy.
Just doing all the DQs makes it so much faster.
So far I'm only able to do about 4-5 dailies and those are related to like +1 lvl monsters. Like 6-7 other ones have req that I don't know where to get or on diff or lvls further above mine.

oh and

I actually made it to the 2nd Lion and I'm sure I got it down to like half way before I died. But the video was my 3rd attempt and when that happened I just gave up
I had a whole party of spellcasters thinking they could dish out some mean DPS :v:
Wait. There isn't a revive spell/item that your allies can use like back in pso1? Blasphemous.
