There's no penalty for going out on quests with AI bros right?
If I remember correctly it makes things slightly harder, not nearly as much as real players though. I think bosses treat them as actual players though. For instance when you harpoon Bal Rodos or stun Ringahda the time they stay down changes from half a minute when solo to half a second for a full party.
Wait. There isn't a revive spell/item that your allies can use like back in pso1? Blasphemous.
There is, but AI very rarely use them on you. Probably to try and get you playing with others.
There's no penalty for going out on quests with AI bros right?
they count at 0.7 of a person as far as enemy spawn amount is concerned
so if you're in a full MPA,
3 players + 9 AI = 9.3 spawn rate
12 players = 12 spawn rate
they also do pretty abysmal damage since their stats don't get boosted by affixes/units/mags, but can be useful as a boss distraction when playing solo. they randomly shoot off their mag's photon bursts as well so that's helpful.
assuming we're talking about friend partners, and not the NPC AI partners:
* they randomly use anything registered on the first subpallete, so if you have stances on there they'll usually just toggle it on and off randomly.
* the first weapon slot is prioritized so they will use that weapon/PAs the most often, but they can occasionally switch to the other ones.
* if they have the trait "savior" they have a very small chance to revive you
* if they have the trait "tsundere" & "healer"(?) they can randomly cast a full party heal or resta. if someone goes this route they're usually best off putting their entire subpallete and weapon techs to "resta"
Wait. There isn't a revive spell/item that your allies can use like back in pso1? Blasphemous.
Star atomizer = full party 50% heal, costs a fair bit of meseta and can only carry 5 with you to a mission
Moon atomizer = AOE revive to 50% hp, can only carry 5 with you to a mission
Resta = DoT heal that can be charged, only usable by techer/force/bouncer
Anyway to get a new mag? I've been stuck with the one from.. Koffies license quest for ages now, I'm lvl 42 :v:
What's that red overlay that gets in your face randomly and makes a weird sound? I've yet to figure out what it indicates.
I also love the boss fights in this game, godamn it's so much fun! One turn off in the game is the really horrible desync playing with other people, you would see them slashing the air in one end of the room and the monster on the other which doesn't seem to be affected at all just stands there then flops over dead. But other then all of that I'm having loads of fun fighting these bosses, I just love it when you're doing a boring kill X quest then bam they drop a boss on you.

unless you get some arks cash (aka real monies) you only get one mag. in terms of how much it costs (YEN == AC) it's ~$3 for a new mag, although you can only buy AC in increments of ~$5
you're supposed to plan out it's build and tediously/regularly feed it useless items until it levels up enough and gives you stat points related to your build
so if you plan on maining melee classes, only s-atk
if you plan on maining range classes, only r-atk
if you plan on going tech, t-atk
if you plan on gimmicking it out and doing a braver/bouncer, you can try full dex mag
for example a s-atk mag requires this cycle of items:
1) feed it a (high rarity) melee (red) weapon => gains s-atk & dex, reduces s-def
2a) feed it monomate => gains s-def, reduces dex
2b) feed it 4* furniture from "my room" shop near franka (i think it's 4*, it might need 6*)
3) repeat until mag is maxed
the goal is to only increase s-atk while canceling out the dex/s-def
r-atk uses ranged (blue) weapons and dimates
t-atk uses magic (yellow) weapons and trimates
personally as a Fi/Hu female human, i need ~25 dex in order to equip every weapon related to my classes, so i first got that to 25 and then started the cycle as mentioned above
does it matter? not really. as long as you don't care about equipping every endgame weapon, this is essentially min-maxing territory. although you might be kicking yourself in the end when you can't equip some weapons.

low/critical health? i believe it triggers at <=25% health

Not that, it's like something else it kinda has like the effect of viens in your eyes or something and the sound the plays along with it kinda sounds like a blaster or something like that.
And fuck I fed my mag some monomates thinking that's how they recharge their batteries...
thanks for the info, I'd be sure to feed my mag weapons from now on, I hope I'm not too late 42 lvls in already.. I pretty much did everything too late when I realized I could create a support character and get a sub class by the time I was like lvl 34. I'm so slow
Can anyone spot me lillipa eq final wave sound track

oh that's a PSE boost change (or something along those lines i don't know the actual name)
it randomly affects the field you are currently in, making certain PSEs easier to raise up. like meseta, or element, or monster spawn, etc
sometimes it comes with weather changes as well which further affects which PSEs are easier to get
you sometimes get a popup at the top of your screen shortly afterwards that should tell you some basic info about what is increased

Didn't say which lilipa eq, but assuming one of the mining bases:

Intrusion's Final Wave is pretty much the same as invasion's

Just bought premium for one month :D
sell your valuables at a team discount
Another stupid question from me, anyone else play Braver and have the skill Shunka-shunran? It's suppose to charge forward then do several more attacks but I can't seem to get it to work. My char would just charge forward and stab them with the sword and then that would be it. I've spent like 20 whole mins trying different key presses to try and get this to work..

oh god never fucking mind, it's activated through movements keys
If anyone here is interested in buying Arks Cash, DON'T do it through the webmoney system.
If you have Android, you can download a thing called pso2es which is a mobile pso2 game. You can link your pc account to the app. You then download the tweaker which in turn will convert Yen into your currency.
Therefore you can buy AC for the actual price. 1000 is ~$10. Premium costs 1300 AC so it'll cost you around $15.
Using this you can use Google Play cards or bill it through your carrier or just plain and simple credit card or google wallet.
If anyone is interested and needs further details on how to do it I can give you the specifics.

Please gibe specifics, since I was thinking of buying some AC the other day.
Foreword:
First of all, I know I'm shooting my own business of selling webmoney right in the face by posting about this, but I'm sure it would come out sooner or later. I've always thought helping the players is more important than anything else. (Though the business certainly helped alleviate costs (bills, servers, etc)) I could try to bury and hide it until someone realized it, but that wouldn't sit right with me. I think this is important, as being able to purchase AC like the Japanese will finally put us on an even playing field, and is the final hurdle towards enjoying the game.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Will this give me AC on the PC version too?
A: Yes, the AC, Meseta, and Rappy coins are shared between the two.
Q: Will this give me a code, or add it instantly?
A: It will add the AC instantly. You cannot use this method to buy codes, and you cannot use paypal for this either. If you need codes or wish to use paypal, you can always buy from Arks Layer :)
Q: Do I need a VPN, proxy, or japanese google account?
A: Nope! Just download the APK, install it, and use your normal google account for the purchase.
Method 1 - With an actual smartphone
1) Acquire PSO2es via http://arks-layer.com/pso2es.php
2) Install the english patch. (Not yet released. Soon, I promise!)
3) Open/update PSO2es, and login. Once you've logged in and selected your character, then click the circled buttons:
http://arks-layer.com/imgs/sega1.png
http://arks-layer.com/imgs/sega2.png
http://arks-layer.com/imgs/sega3.png
At this point, select how much AC you'd like to purchase (Search google for conversion prices eg. "500yen to dollars") and then click this button:
http://arks-layer.com/imgs/sega4.png
This will begin the Google Wallet checkout process (which is why this works). I tested it with my completely American VISA, and it worked completely fine. Please comment if it worked for you, and if not, what type of card you used.
When you've finished, it will instantly add the AC to your account.
Method 2 - Using a computer
1) If you don't have Bluestacks already, download it from http://www.bluestacks.com
2) Install Bluestacks. Make sure you link it to a Google account and enable app sharing and everything.
3) Download the apk from http://arks-layer.com/pso2es.php
4) Open up the apk. It should automatically open via Bluestacks.
5) Launch PSO2es. Click the button on the right at login to use your SEGA ID. Go through the tutorial. Click on what they tell you to click (smack rappies) until you have free reign over the menu.
6) Go to Method 1 (above), and start from step 3.
By the way, bluestacks is a annual subscription service so if you want to buy AC make sure you do it before the trial ends. Otherwise you have to download the 'selected apps of the day' to continue using it for free.
Aren't there free android emulators though
I just use my device but in know not everyone has a droid
Aren't there free android emulators though
I just use my device but in know not everyone has a droid
andyroid and the google android sdk
although andyroid also occasionally has annoying popups asking you to like their facebook page so i wouldn't recommend it either
so just install the full development kit is pretty much the only option? although it's harder to install apps on it, and you don't have access to the appstore inside of the emulator
so basically android emulators suck
Just deal with the popups and small niggles. It only takes 15 minutes to get it installed and to get to the AC store
Is it possible for me to play this game (Western Europe) last time I tried it I downloaded the client but couldn't login because I'm not from asia
Is it possible for me to play this game (Western Europe) last time I tried it I downloaded the client but couldn't login because I'm not from asia
short answer: yes
long answer:
1) grab tweaker, install PSO2/patches with it (you probably already have PSO2 installed still so ignore that??)
2) register
3) read below
you need a proxy/VPN to connect to the game itself, or the pso2.jp website
and also for the default PSO2 launcher
but only if your ISP is one of the many that currently can't find where sega's servers are
specifically here's the confirmed ISPs that can connect without any kind of proxy/vpn:
Verizon (US)
Time Warner Cable (US)
Hurricane Electric (US)
SFR (France)
Laposte (France)
Virginbox (France)
everyone else is most likely "blocked"
you don't need a proxy/vpn for the PSO2 tweaker though, which you should be using
you'll need one to actually play the game though

you can host your own with:
https://github.com/cyberkitsune/PSO2Proxy
although if you don't mind sharing an IP with thousands of other people you can use the publicly hosted one:
http://pso2proxy.cyberkitsune.net/
i just use the free public one because i don't really care all that much. if sega wanted to they would've banned the IP with 600+ simultaneous MAC addresses but they still haven't yet, so i'm sure it's safe enough right? (yeaaaa)
btw you can view the amount of people currently connected to the public proxy, as well as a few other stats, by visiting this url:
http://linode.cyberkitsune.net:8080/
you can also use this to test your ping to his server
ping linode.cyberkitsune.net
and then add 3-5ms to it to get your actual ping
4) launch PSO2 with tweaker when you want to play
Okay the Gunner class, I keep reading up that I need to be lvl 30 in certain classes to then unlock gunner, but when I go up to the class guy counter, I can change my class to any in the game?
episode 3 unlocked every class for everybody regardless of level
this includes gunner/fighter/techer
if you reached level 30 with braver you unlocked all 3 client orders needed to unlock each class individually
otherwise you had to reach 30 with the parent class to unlock the specific client order for each specialized class
I've seen videos of people out there with the gunner class climb to absurd heights and maintain that height the whole boss fight just shooting straight down. I need to learn this. But I have no idea how to do a side flip, keeps doing a backflip
switch to alternate camera mode using [T]/R3, or lock on to an enemy with [Q]/L2
hold [A]/left, or [D]/right
press [shift]/R2
congratulations you've sideflipped
fighters can do something similar with their [shift]/R2 and symphonic drive
I mean this dude here isn't even locked or anything he's sideflipping like crazy

and I would like to remove that stupid slow motion dodge if possible, it really breaks my rythem of shooting things
