Instead of preventing smurfing, it makes it ten times more annoying.

When we were once playing together, they started shooting each other for fun when we were something like 2 rounds away from winning. They all get kicked for teamkilling and we lose because their ranks were a lot higher than mine and the bots were pretty much just walking bags of money.

Most scrub players don't understand the whole map control thing, it's not about who's dead or epic entry angles, but about information you can pass on to the rest of the team. This information allows players on your team to stay focused on their own angle without having to worry about being flanked. This allows them to feel comfy enough to lower their sensitivity, this allows higher aim control resulting in a tighter hold on the map than a passive approach would give you. In CS, getting tons of 180 flick kills generally means your team is doing something wrong.

How the heck does their system work? I was MGE, lost my rank because I'm in uni and had no time to play for like a month and a half, came back, totally CRUSHED my first game top fragging with KDR of 2.5 - 1, and then I get ranked at GN3. I don't care too much personally, but it seems flawed because now I'm going to be playing against people that are a fair amount lower level (not always worse, but most of the time). Last time i lost my rank I won the first game and got my same rank back.

People should seriously start getting banned for this shit, it's getting ridiculous.

I know what you are trying to say, but even speaking in relation to MMR and not the rank shown, A GN3 is going to be considerably lower in MMR than an MGE, that is all I'm saying. Anyways, thanks zerosix, didn't realize they had adjusted thresholds, kind of a bummer since my friends who were also MGE, but didn't stop playing got to keep their MGE even though they are no better than I.

Since you need to be able to take at least ~14 losses to trains.

For instance, he and a teammate go to contest an area together, he dies, starts yelling "OH MY GOD WHY DIDN'T YOU HEL-- oh you did help I love you yellow." as he notices he did zero damage and yellow already had 2 kills and was still going. This is why I rarely go into matchmaking solo anymore. I don't consider myself a team leader or even a great player and listening to two other players try to take the lead with one repeatedly yelling "last long" and the other repeatedly yelling "last cat" where looking at either place results in more deafening yelling to the point of being unable to hear footsteps at all getting me killed from [B]ramp[/B]... Needless to say I only play with friends now.
