Is there a significant reason that only the standard weapons and AWP are used in competitive play? Or am I safe to keep using my aug for a little while?

My answer to every question regarding why people don't use the SG or the AUG when they're technically superior is this: Tell me what's quicker, seeing someone, aiming your gun at them, then firing? or Seeing someone, aiming at them, scoping in, then firing. It's all a matter of speed; it usually takes far too long to react to someone by scoping in. If you're T side and you're entry fragging with an SG and you're hardscope pre-aiming, then because you're slow peeking, you either get the immediate headshot or you're dead, pretty much.

At lower level competitive play it's not a huge deal, but what makes it a huge deal is when you end up learning to use a weapon that will not work out down the line. Much easier to get used to spray patterns and such on an M4/AK early on, IMO.

I like using the aug/sg sometimes. If someone is in pit with anything without a scope (assuming you're a scrub who plays dust2) it's pretty easy to whack them with the scope. I usually wont pick it over an AK though

You should learn every automatic rifle. Most of my cheat dev friends crack cheats and send them to Valve for shits and giggles, even the ones that don't have paycheats of their own.

i pick up the sg sometimes because it's really good when you already have a site locked down or if you can get to vantage points like mid in mirage before the enemy does. it's also incredibly easy to land head shots.

the sg and aug are really good on maps where you can pinpoint focus one spot that people are coming from, like banana and aps balcony in inferno and tunnels to b in dust etc.

So after sending a support ticket to Steam about my hijacked CS:GO skins and seeing that no action has been taken against the account which took them, I kept requesting them to take action.
