Does this mean we have to watch the next major on the MLG player? https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/3tlcpw/mlg_major_details/
According to the article the major is going to be streamed on multiple streaming platforms, so it's likely we can watch it on Twitch
There is a reason I bolded loss too. I was trying to give hints.
I realised. I was still blind.
So, I just did some boosting to get a guy from LE to SMFC. Feel free to hate on me and flame me all you wan't, it's in your right. HOWEVER, I will also write down my notes and they might be helpful to people. Aim - In general, it's god awful, nobody can aim, awps are easy to outduel with AKs, AWPs can get outpeeked, people have no crosshair placement, can't even spray control a P90. So what do? I suggest people who want to improve to make themselves a config for DM and bind tab and ctrl to kill (scoreboard and crouch). Only go for 7-9 bullet spraydowns or 2/3 shot bursts, don't kill whore. I recommend volume 0.04 and music in the background. Play with both the AK and M4, even if the M4 you're gonna get killed. It will suck, but your goal is to improve, prefiring spawns and listening to footsteps/spawns is not going to give you better aim, you will have to grind it out. Second suggestion is surf, I've seen a lot of people have massive issues simply controling their mouse. Surf requires smooth movement and it will help in the long run, it's hard to get into but it WILL make your aim better due to the sheer fact you wont break your wrist every time you flick. Quick, controled and precise. Map Knowledge - Zero, zilch, nada apart from D2. Even mirage smokes aren't that common. In general, look up some nifty smokes and flashes, make yourself the playmaker, not wait for your team to do something (more on that later). Learn the specifics of a map, even if you duo you can smash teams on maps with your partner no matter how hard your team is trying to throw. An example I had was Overpass. Enemy team had no concept of connector control, and even though they had a decent CT side, once we switched over it was a slaughter since we controlled Short A+B+Connector. You don't even have to outaim people, just take an advantegous position, the enemy is very unlikely to know any flashes. Grenades - Lordy oh lordy, go look them up. But I'd also recommend just spending an hour on a listen server with grenade trajectories just to learn how they fly/bounce based on different throws. It doesn't take long and you can whip up a mean flash on the fly that wins you the round. In general people do seem to know flashes blind people, but don't seem to know how they bounce at all. It's the age old issue of knowing the advanced parts, but completely fucking up the basics. Teamwork - Very, very piss poor, even in premades. Too much "balls deep" without having the skill to back it up, causing people to rage. Playing bad positions (car at D2 is very, very, VERY bad if you don't have a proper setup) which makes them get a kill, yeah, but die and lose the round because they couldn't be useful in other regards. Way too often do you see people top fragging like mad but just being so fucking useless by baiting etc. Don't be the star, help your team out. Instead of raging at the bottom fragger shadow him, have him rush Long A while you flash him in and trade him out, don't get mad at him for dying, USE him. In general though this goes with gamesense, most players aren't aware of anything beyond their immediate surroundings. This is probably the hardest part to pick up, especially improvised team play, but it's the best way (combined with aim) to easily shoot up in ranks. Doesn't matter how bad your aim is if you always have a 2v1 vs the enemy team. By far the hardest to learn, my suggestion is form a team with people who are chill and want to improve (ragers should NOT be tolerated, however discipline _is_ required so it's a hard balance) and figure it out with your teammates, but most importantly be ACTIVE. If you fucked up a smoke and someone tells you that don't lash out, shut the fuck up/say yeah, sorry and MAKE SURE YOURSELF it doesn't happen again, next time you throw it be aware of what happened, and why it messed up. Mistakes happen, they don't keep happening OMG HELL OF SMURFS/CHEATERS - Hell is what you make. I've encountered 2/3 smurfs and 2 potential (not even full blatant) hackers in 14 games. It's you who is the problem, not anyone else. In general 3/4 games had people raging in all chat after losing _ONE_ round. Just shut the hell up. Obviously the binds come out in force and you've lost. If the answer to "calm down" is "fuck you", you're already tilted and have to refocus and calm down. Always mute shittalkers, don't talk about shittalkers to your teammates, ignore them. Similarly don't type anything in all chat, once you type something you've already doomed yourself to losing the game. I believe anyone can reach at least SMFC if they're actually willing to put in the effort and time into the game, regardless of FPS, Ping and any other factors. But if you don't want to improve and just want to find excuses, you _will_ be stuck in hell. Your own, personalized version of hell. Anyway, bring on the flame. EDIT: And please DM on community FFA, valve ones are awful. EDIT2: Also, we do hear the noise you make, yes you make a shitload of noise, no I don't need to turn down my music to hear you stomping around in fuckin heaven on Cache.
An addendum to this: you make footstep noise. seriously not a single person in the matches I was playing with ogris in (including the smurf we played against) had any concept of the fact that they made footsteps. Even better when they called hacks for obvious prefires. [editline]21st November 2015[/editline] People also couldn't strafe stop properly (which is also the source of the "omg hax running deagle down mid reported for raging hack") since proper strafe stops are basically invisible in third person.
Did someone say DMG?
So I tried playing in a 5 man premade for the first time in a long time, and Inferno is actually a really great map that's actually T sided once you can properly organise some more complex strats. It was a fun game to get back to smfc after dipping back to dmg again from a streak of games with hackers. I love watching T side balcony and 2nd mid and catching pushing CTs off-guard as they try to be clever and get into second mid to flank.
In regards to smurfing, it feels like people who essentially say "deal with it", or "learn from them" are already a decent smfc/global who can hold their own against them.
It's for people who like to have fun at the expense of others.
yeah, people argue that smurfs are good, because they will make you a better player or some stupid shit. Some people have no interest in going pro. they just want to have a good time, and not get wrecked.

You learn from constructive guides and criticism that build on basics and prior knowledge and build it into advanced concepts. Smurfs stomping on you don't really do that. (It's also why I have a gripe with some of the guides being recommended but heyo).
How to waste your ace

I think people confuse that - playing against a player who is better than you but still beatable - with just being stomped, from which you learn nothing.
Me and a friend are setting up a pistol-only smurfs so we can play with lower-ranked friends, figured we'd get placed in MGE-DMG since the pistols are a bit... limited. Currently facing LEs :v:
Launched CSGO for first time in a couple of months and I see this: neat
