[QUOTE=Swiket;49640092]Oh, and in the mountain: [sp]controlling the two panels to make a walkway for yourself to the elevator[/sp] [editline]30th January 2016[/editline] How do I get to that? I've heard a lot of people mention it.[/QUOTE] Complete the [sp]second pressure plate puzzle in the keep and you can walk out back. [/sp]

Running away at the end was the best haha
I'm about halfway through the immediate postgame area, though I know there's more to it than what I see. Some interesting connections are appearing in the game at this point...
Oh fuck, I'm trying to do the main [sp]theater puzzle, which means I have to start the puzzle from the white moon at the start of that last video, move the line all the way to the end and now I have to wait for the whole hour long video to get to the very end, when the moon is completely black and then finish the puzzle. This better not just lead to another symbol on one of the obelisks.[/sp]

[QUOTE=Darkwater124;49642825][sp]You can seek through the video on the panels.[/sp][/QUOTE] [sp]But you have to standing on the other side of the screen to do this and you have to be holding that line the entire way through and can't step away. And I did it, all of it and it was only a fucking obelisk symbol, goddamnit. I give up on trying to solve the actual secret of the theater, I know there is something there, the window above the 5 panels has shapes on the edges of it that make it seem like that would be another puzzle if the right thing was on the screen, but none of the videos has any shape that works like that. And I have yet to find any other way that you could open the path that goes up to the walkways that go above the theater and behind the door there, there has to be a way.[/sp] [editline]31st January 2016[/editline] Oh shit, I found it [sp]there's a path behind where you would activate the music box, it leads to the walkway directly above where the screen is, I'll see where that ends up leading.[/sp] [editline]31st January 2016[/editline] Meh, [sp]that path only contained the pattern you would input into the panel at the beginning that opens the grid gate to close it again so you can do the secret ending thing.[/sp]
I legitimately can't tell if I like this game to be honest. I go from not minding it, to completely loathing it and turning it off every time I try to play it. I'm finding the puzzles way too infuriating, and the world too bland and uninteresting. And from what I've been hearing [sp]the ending doesn't even seem all that worth getting to as it's some faux deep quote or some ballshit?[/sp]

Because the puzzles are the core part of the game, everything else is just window dressing.

I kinda feel that I would enjoy this game if it was linear, or they gave you more of a indication of what way to go to find the puzzles that would give you the basic ideas you need to know to continue. It feels like having a slightly expanded version of the map from the boat on you at all times would make finding where you need to go feel like a lot less of a time waste, because half the time I'm playing is wandering and finding puzzles I have no clue how to do.

[editline]31st January 2016[/editline] Got to the music box challenge run. i think i could be stuck here for a very long time.
that puzzle is great, I had to make a mockup in photoshop so I could move the pieces around until they fit :v:
I've come close to getting out some construction paper and cutting out puzzle pieces to assemble them on a grid.
[QUOTE=Swiket;49645896]I've come close to getting out some construction paper and cutting out puzzle pieces to assemble them on a grid.[/QUOTE] ive been taping tracing paper to my screen for alot of the puzzles. but now im just working on the music box challenge so paper is useless now, unless i can come up with a way of mapping the maze fast
[QUOTE=Ziks;49638156][sp]There's some more stuff post-credits, and probably more if you do all the secrets[/sp][/QUOTE] What do you mean [sp]"post-credits"? I just get flown back to the start while everything resets, then the game closes.[/sp]
these fukcing testris puzles are BULLSHIT GODDAMMIT
[QUOTE=Kljunas;49659423]What do you mean [sp]"post-credits"? I just get flown back to the start while everything resets, then the game closes.[/sp][/QUOTE] [sp]restart the game on a new save, the white force-field wall at the beginning castle is an environmental puzzle[/sp]

The post-game area has some audio logs that go more into detail about the story.[/sp] [editline]2nd February 2016[/editline] You can just reload your last save after completing the game btw.

I actually already went through the ending a second time after activating what I thought was the last one. It's pretty impressive how well things are hidden in this game imo. I feel like I know the island inside out but at the same time there's tons of stuff I haven't found. [editline]3rd February 2016[/editline] Nevermind I misremembered, I already got them all.
My nightmares are now backed by "in the hall of the mountain king" Ive got to the final 2 pillars so many times now and messed up because the music is going frantic :'(
Well, I've just about completed everything in The Witness, bar a few environmental puzzles. It's a great feeling, but quite sad at the same time because I'm guessing there aren't any crazy new layers or mechanics yet to be uncovered. It was such a fantastic game to discover and work through, last time I had this sort of experience was Fez, and this is a whole other level of that. Anyone else feeling kind of down that they've finished the game?
