Is it just me or does one of those character concepts look like [sp]Delia Copperspoon?[/sp]

Particularly the woman in the second screenshot.

Yeah it's her, I think she's the main antagonist in dishonoured 2
I remember when I played the slaughterhouse level [sp]I went to all the effort of putting the guy into the box alive but then I blew up the factory. The box evidently wasn't blast-proof because my non-lethal takedown became anything but.[/sp]
oh feck I completely forgot about that. I was wondering why they later on were [sp]broadcasting about how he'd been killed[/sp]
oh well
Not sure why this thread isn't more active, release is pretty soon.

The new book is out, and from what I've read it's pretty good so far.
Also, I really like the song they've been using for the trailers:

Does the book play after the first one and before the second one? If so, I need to get it.
It does. It's $1.19 AUD on the Australian Amazon right now. Apparently another Dishonored 2 prequel novel comes out next month too.
Hi guys, I'd like to share this video critique I made for Dishonored 1:

Next Friday can't come soon enough!
Honestly, I preferred the automatons' old look instead of that generic "bird head"

Regarding the game itself, while I'm going to get it as soon as I can, there's something that rubs me wrong about it, but I can't wrap my head around what is it exactly
So I just started playing dishonored 1 and I got kind of irritated that at the beginning it said that there would be a "less bad" end if I don't kill anyone.
Am I really loosing out on that much if I just want to play a cool assassin in the style of dark messiah of might and magic? I like stealth and stuff but not being able to combine that with some cool as fuck assassinations seems like it would make the game less fun

Not really. You can kill quite a few people and still get a low chaos ending.
You can balance it out, kill some goons, do some good thing, I always try for no deaths but murder fest is more fun honestly.
Can't wait. Got the CE preordered.
Started a new playthrough, this time around I'm finally gonna complete the game, I think.
And although I've already killed a few goons, I'm gonna try a few of the nonlethal assassinations. Branding Campbell, for example, just promises to be so deliciously dickish.

Personally I've always thought this is one of the biggest flaw with games of this style. You get all this cool shit and then the game takes a big shit on your chest if you do anything naughty.
Non-lethal takedowns shouldn't even exist imo (or be rarer). Just slows down the game.
You don't have to work too hard to get the good ending for this at least. You really have to be a shit bloke before you start noticing things going wonky. I accidentally drowned a bunch of people I dropped into water after choking them out on my first play-through and I was still peachy.

Why did you just contradict yourself? I personally found that if I reached a high chaos ending, it was because I was playing the game that way. I slaughtered dozens of people every level, and when I hit the final level there were even more people for me to slaughter! yay!
Preorder unlocks in 12 hours for me. Though I hear in some countries it's already unlocked.
Who are you going to play with on your first playthrough?
Agree for Corvo
Disagree for Emily
Informative for not sure yet
I'll be playing Corvo, I'll ease myself back into the game with the familiar powers and play the game as I normally would. Then I'll do it as Emily and see how differently the game plays.
I'm so fucking excited.
Emily, probably, but that's subject to change. Supposedly it's coming in tomorrow and I really can't wait.

I'm the opposite, I want to play Emily and check out the new abilities, then go again as Corvo and go with the powers I'm much more familiar with.
The launch trailer is out, spoilers though.

Just used a VPN to start unpacking it, since I'm in the UK and it's out in Australia.
I won't play it until it officially releases here however out of a respect for actual release times.

I'll be going as Emily first. Mostly because I really want to try out the new moveset, and I'll be seeing Corvo as sort of a "play as that character from the first game" bonus.

Corvo.
I have no interest in Emily at all. I'll try her later down the line.
There's a few negative reviews on steam about performance, hopefully it's not awful

I'm playing Emily right now on a low-chaos run with as little killing as possible. I'll probably play Corvo next and do an angry vengeful dad playthrough where I kill everything that moves.

What does it take to get well-optimised games on release these days?
What does it take to get well-optimised games on release these days?
I guess Denuvo has to do something with it too
The first person peeking/cover system seems kinda clunky. Also it's hard to tell when enemies are within melee range of you. I don't have any other complaints so far. No performance issues on ultra with a old titan x.
Domino is so much goddamn fun. I just linked two guys together before fighting them expecting to choke one out and take them both out, but the other guy pulled out a pistol and shot his buddy as I was choking him and then he died too :v:
