Dishonored Series Thread V1: "Take Back What's Yours"

Were there any good "side" characters?
Granny from the first game was awesome
Up until I got into the Clockwork Mansion, I would've said that Boyle's Last Party was my favorite level in this series. Holy fucking shit, the first 10 minutes of this mansion are mind blowing.

[sp]Considering there's an achievement for killing Jindosh undetected, I'm really excited to go back through like that.[/sp]
[sp]Be wary though, you can get yourself stuck.[/sp]
I found that achievement a bit unfair to be honest, the only way to do it is with [sp]possession or upgraded shadowform, and you have to be quick with possession since you either need to get the guard or the rats before they disperse[/sp].
So for a non lethal run is corvo or emily better?

I'd say emily, since domino is pretty useful if you wanna hug 4 people at same time.

You can do it with only blink/far reach. I even pulled it off on my No Powers run. The main trick about that place and that achievement is knowing when to haul ass and knowing to sit as still as possible for a couple minutes and wait for the perfect moment.

Hard to beat Emily's powers for non-lethal when you have Domino. Then again Corvo has nearly unlimited potential with Time Stop.

I did it just by [sp]jumping between the moving segments with far reach to get into the maintenance area after pulling the first lever. Jindosh will claim to know you're there if you pull a second lever but he's actually lying, I made my way all the way through and killed him and got the achievement.[/sp]

[sp]You can actually just not pull the lever, crossbow the upper atrium, and go through the entire level undetected. You only have to directly take out maybe 2 guards. I only had to deal with one Clockwork and that was in Jindosh's lab, the other one was still deactivated.[/sp]
Does being spotted matter if you're doing a non lethal run?

Yeah, but the final barrier to Jindosh's lab is the [sp]Lift behind a Wall of Light above Sokolov's prison. I can only see you getting through it by possessing a Rat or the Guard that patrols that area.[/sp]

Yep, I'm talking about the very last part of the level.

Not in this game! You can do some pretty nifty stuff with non-lethal open combat, which is a really solid change. You'll miss out on the Ghost achievement, but that's about it.

You can get into that lab through a different route, I actually [sp]took his private elevator DOWN to the assessment room after eliminating Jindosh, and THEN rescued Sokolov. Barely had to pull any levers, which makes me think it can be done without doing so.[/sp]

I don't quite remember the route I took, but I [sp]circumvented that wall of light after getting Sokolov by climbing the elevator shaft to the upper levels, going through his bedroom, and jumping from the pipes outside the balcony to the area outside the elevator right next to his lab.[/sp]
Has there been a performance patch/news of an upcoming performance patch yet?

I beat the level without hitting any levers, can confirm
Wow, going from 780 SLI to 1070 makes the game run like butter now. Higher frames, no stuttering. I'm in love!
Two important gameplay questions:
1) Does killing the feral hounds count as killing someone or can I murder them without fear of getting my hands dirty?
2) Should you choose to refuse powers at the beginning of the game, can you still purchase upgrades for your characters (like the one increasing your health, the one that gives you the bloodlust effect and the kind?)

What CPU do you have? I just upgraded to a 1070 too, but my i5 4670 is bottlenecking my system in most games.

If I remember it correctly it also blocks off those upgrades as well, and I remember someone saying you get coins when you pick up ruins instead

murder as many animals as you want, you'll never face consequences for it unless the owner spots you while you're doing it. that goes for in the game, too.
you get nothing in the powers tab, and any runes you collect become 800 coins (i think)

I read that 1070 was more of a sidegrade from 780? Maybe I should pick one up now. I thought about overclocking my system to pump out some extra frames but every time I see "may cause damage" it makes me nervous. I am water cooled though. Should ask around hardware section more. I'll probably start the game over at my next chance to play. Fresh perspective after some fixes.

I haven't OC'd yet cuz i'm lazy and it takes time.
Btw, that fucking witch shout shit is OP as fuck. Makes the [sp]Delilah fight[/sp] without HP pots almost impossible.
Btw, that fucking witch shout shit is OP as fuck. Makes the [sp]Delilah fight[/sp] without HP pots almost impossible.
[sp]If you turn to the right upon entering the painting you can go in this little corner and climb up it and the real Delilah is at the very top channeling her replicas. You can sneak up behind her and go for an easy kill/knockout.[/sp]
I just trapped four Witches and two dogs in a room with a headless Clockwork Soldier. Only the Clanker walked out.
The neutral path for the Crow Killer was a no brainer to me and I picked it up the second I put two and two together and started making preparation for it.
I'm really enjoying playing Dishonored 2, with my only regret being I'm so fixated on not being detected and not kill anyone that I'm constantly leaving behind collectables unless they happen to be on my face (to be fair, though, it's not like I need to unlock all those fancy powers and their upgrades: I don't want to sound like bragging, but I think I can get both Ghost and Clean Hands by using only the Blink power, or whatever it's called on Emily)

Blink was/still is the most useful power in the game I don't think anyone is debating that.
If you want real challenge do a ghost non-lethal run with no powers.
Another beta patch just went live: http://steamcommunity.com/games/403640/announcements/detail/585862112210538980

Better yet, don't incapacitate anybody unless the mission requires it.
