Are we talking Arkham Knight levels of bad optimisation here? I'm watching it download now and feeling very nervous and concerned.
Not as bad as that but it kinda detracts from the game, makes me not want to play it basicaly, Dishonoured has always been about fluid gameplay and movement for me and the 40fps and weird mouse movement spoils it
Oh man, low/high chaos is STILL in? I really thought they would have taken it out.
I mean, I enjoy playing the game, it feels rather fresh even though it's the same as the previous one. But punishing me again with an evil ending (which is what I think it will be) just because it's fun to use the awesome abilities the game gives me seems very contradictory.
This is always the dumbest argument. You're not being "punished", your actions in game have consequences in the game's world and they're simply reflected.
I'm enjoying it so far, I decided to play as Corvo for old times sake, so far I haven't killed anyone but got caught twice.
One thing that I do find annoying is when you open the wheel for weapons/powers, when you allocate them to a hotbar (1,2,3 etc) it doesnt leave the page unless you hit ESC which also opens the main menu.

But to get the "good" ending I'm forced to either leave people alone or choking them, which means I'm not allowed to use some of the abilities the game gives me. There are more abilities that help me with killing foes than just pacify them which means the game is more centred around killing them than pacifying them.
And killing is more fun than choking in Dishonored 1.
Also the world getting darker because you killed like 50 people, 99% guards in a world with serial killers.
What.

There are abilities that work in tandem with your non-lethal options. Domino allows you to link the fates of multiple NPCs, so you can take 2 or more with a single strike.
Apparently mouse smoothing cannot be turned off, and that mouse controls are tied to fps or something.

How does this even happen in this day and age
How does this even happen in this day and age
I may be wrong, but there're users from NeoGAF as well as /v/ who are reporting that.
Good thing I didn't Pre-Order.

Non-lethal is in itself restraint. It's purposefully much more convenient to kill, which is why non-lethal is more impressive. I get what you're saying, and I think dishonored 1 should have had a lot more non-lethal options, but at the end of the day I like the fact that non-lethal is more challenging (hence it has to be more limiting) and is ultimately more satisfying due to that. I believe you get more out of the game if you're forced to be creative and solve the scenarios like puzzles rather than bolting everyone in the head from the shadows
Came in here to see the consensus. Guess I'll give it a few months and wait till I can upgrade to a 1080.
Hopefully this isn't an Arkham Knight type of long-term problem.

That's never a bad thing.

I'd like to think that it'll be a week or two, because Deus Ex/Tomb Raider and some other games with Denuvo all took a week or even more to get the performance to where it should be.
Shame, cause it's going to turn a lot of people away from buying it on PC.
That's never a bad thing.
Actually in this case the preorder gave DLCs for the first game basically free which I would have wanted but Im still glad I didnt preorder after hearing from all the issues
Deus Ex still has performance problems on even the highest end cards.
Deus Ex still has performance problems on even the highest end cards.
After playing with settings for awhile, making sure I have the drivers, I could get pretty stable frames. I have a feeling it'll be the case with this as well, but it looks a lot less graphically intense, so maybe it'll be easier for Dishonored 2 to become performance friendly.

What.
The events of the first game take place during a rat plague akint to the Black Plague or something, so every dead body left in the street is a potential new host for other rats and germs and the plague can spread more and more, resulting in a Dunwal in far worse condition.
The reactions NPCs have to you in a High Chaos run aren't so far-fetched either, given you appear like a man in possession of outherwordly powers who can kill people on a brim and without much fanfare, sometimes in very gruesomely ways, so a newfound paranoia is kinda justified from them.
Honestly, the above considerations are the only thing that made me go on a pacifist route in Dishonored, since at several points in the game I really thought all the guards deserved to die (their side conversations are disgusting)

Are they all meeting for Whiskey and Cigars? Those degenerates.

Granted, I've played Dishonored years ago, but most of the discussions the guards have, especially the high-ranked ones, are about how to better abuse their power to bash some skulls in or downright rape fair maidens
I know Bethesda wanted to lower the investment by using their beloved in house engine, but damn... Unreal 4 would be logical step up from 3rd one, and it would've run like a dream I believe

The heart would occasionally give you even more reason to kill them if their dialogue wasn't enough.

I don't understand why they had to change, I saw someone comment saying "Void engine more like avoid engine"

Money... It is much easier for them to just tell arkane to learn with Id tech, instead of buying licence for UE ... which is damn shame
Currently playing through the first game while knowing only sorta the results of chaos and one spoiler, is it ever explained why Corvo [sp]is oblivious that the girl is his daughter?[/sp] I mean, like, of course.
Corvo, did you never consider that [sp]being the Empress Consort, that maybe the reason she got pregnant was... well, you know, because you were her lover. Right.[/sp]
My FPS is all over the place with a gtx 970 and i54690k. Is a finished product that impossible to achieve?

I don't remember it ever being stated (or implied) that [sp]Corvo is oblivious[/sp], not sure where you got that from. It's not stated categorically that [sp]she is his daughter[/sp] but Corvo is a mute protagonist and we never know what's going on inside his head.
Well, if nothing else, preordering at my local store was worth this little neat thing

I've yet to see the performance on my machine...
Apparently mouse smoothing cannot be turned off, and that mouse controls are tied to fps or something.
sounds right, getting some really annoying mouse acceleration when turning too quickly
anyone know what "mouse friction" even does? can't seem to figure it out
People on steam forums say that for some reason Dishonored2.exe keeps setting it's priority in task manager to Low. Tried changing it to High, but it keeps resetting back.
