Reading his tweets makes me hopeful that Arkane is really working on the issues. It seems like they (or at least he) actually do care.
"Lets spend years working on a brilliant game with amazing art direction, that everyone is loving, performance aside, and not dedicate any effort at all into working a bit more on the performance bugs and optimisations." Of course they're working on the issues, christ. What a waste of time, money and reputation it would be if they didn't.
It's great to see that they still support the game. Not every dev does this nowadays. :v:
Is the stealth in D2 much more difficult than the first game? I heard that it's frustratingly trial and error, and that the perception of enemies can be unpredictable.
they can notice you when you lean now
they can notice you when you lean now
I am especially aware of this fact because I've been seen 5 times since you have to lean in the opposite direction to return to not leaning i.e. after pressing Q you have to press E I imagine this makes sense on a controller where you just point the stick where you want to look, but on PC it just feels bad, especially not being able to move around while leaning

Civilians are especially annoying because if you're carrying a body they have similarly good perception, except they only have a binary alert state so they'll instantly freak out and run off to call the guards. They do still have a problem with looking up, though with the more vertically focused level design there will often be guards looking off of balconies and such that might catch you. Though now that I think about it, did they change ghost requirements to fail you as soon as they become aware of you instead of only when they enter a combat state?
It looks like a game from 2012 and runs like shit on my hardware from 2013 while other games from 2016 run and look much better. Man, worst Einstein's Riddle ever. Goddammit Jindosh.

I'm just sitting here waiting for my collector's edition to arrive from amazon. It's been "out for delivery" for 8 hours now.

Not Dishonored. Why are you saying that your Dishonored runs bad when thats not even what I'm talking about ?
Aha, I think I figured out the riddle upon further inspection of the prose. I remembered one key ingredient of Einstein's Riddle that Jindosh's tries to downplay. Very clever.
Even 1080 cards have trouble running D2.
IM NOT TALKING ABOUT D2, my man was even talking about Hitman in his post saying that he can't run it on a 2013 rig! Nothing in my post ever said a THING about D2. Way to overshoot the point of my post.
Jesus christ the voice acting is awful in this. The game is running as well as expected on my medium PC (gtx 960, A10 6700 and 8GB RAM), getting a rough 40/50 FPS in the introduction and hub. But holy shit the voice acting, when people aren't chewing scenery, Corvo is angry at reading a script or Emily sounds disinterested, the editing is awful. Lines are cutting almost into oneanother, it feels like a two sentence remark is made of three takes. But the game is still fantastic and all that.
Fucking hell, I hate bloodflies so fucking much. I already have a phobia of stinging insects in real life, but these goddamn things put me so much on edge I can barely play the game. Every time I hear them buzzing I can feel it.
It doesn't help that you're almost always encountering them in very close quarters. The rats never bothered me, but these bugs disturb me immensely.
There's an annoying movement threshold for leaning as well, and a similar problem with sneaking past bloodfly swarms. Without climbing along the shelves in the very first room of the infested apartment in Karnaca, the movement speed when crouched is somewhere above the swarm's detection point, which meant I had to feather the movement keys to sneak past it. It's a small thing, but just another aspect of the controls that feels clumsier than it did in the first game. It was a problem in MGSV:TPP as well, despite the movement speed values for crouch running and crouch walking in GZ being perfect for sneaking up on and subduing an enemy in a way that felt completely natural for the control scheme.

Uh-huh, sure pal. Lots of distance for me to keep in here. Shadow-walk/Time Stop practically feels like a requirement for this shit.
I apologize. I didn't pay enough attention.
No problem I could have been clearer

I just killed the Grand Inventor by tossing a grenade up at his general direction while I was below him in his laboratory. It missed. It did, however, damage one of his clockwork soldiers that was right next to him, which exploded a few seconds afterwards and killed him.

My tactic for bloodflies is now crouchwalking towards them spamming my sword slash. Since the crouch slash is faster than standing, it's surprisingly effective. Get bitten once or not at all, but it can clear out a nest without much trouble and save bottles/bolts for harder-to-reach nests.
Is there anything in the second game like a more elaborate version of the party in the first? That should have been like a Hitman level, but it was super disappointing that there really, really was almost no variations outside of kill target or [sp]kidnap[/sp] them. Even worse, the target's prime way of elimination was exactly the same, just your weapon would be different regardless of lethal or non-lethal.
So is the game playable on PC or not? I'm seeing a lot of people with rigs that are twice as powerful as my own (780ti, i5-3570k, 8gb RAM), but I'm also seeing people happily playing the game without problems.
