It doesn't help that you're almost always encountering them in very close quarters.
The rats never bothered me, but these bugs disturb me immensely.
I like that they freak me out. Adds a layer of immersion.
So is the game playable on PC or not? I'm seeing a lot of people with rigs that are twice as powerful as my own (780ti, i5-3570k, 8gb RAM), but I'm also seeing people happily playing the game without problems.
For me (980Ti and 6600k), it was stuttering and input was sluggish. I installed a program to automatically set the CPU priority to high every so often and so far the input feels much more smooth and natural. I get stutters less often but still occasionally
Seems like someone might have solved the microstutters and mouse smoothing, the devs are possibly right about it being a config thing

94% approval, most in the comments is saying these steps work
I'm going to go ahead and try this, knowing that a few minutes more will push me over the refund time. I have faith in Arkane to solve these issues, I wouldn't be so generous if I hadn't heard how good the game is despite these technical issues
edit: Alright, huge improvement. The mouse is now much easier to control (it seems to have framerate-locked the mouse but I'm also getting 100+ fps in parts? so I'm not sure exactly what's going on but the point is it's better) Not entirely fixed, but I'm getting performance remeniscent of deus ex MD now
The first level alone is great fun to explore. Make sure you don't miss a single nook
desperately waiting for the performance to be fixed, this game looks really good :v:

Yeah holy shit this really fixed a lot of my issues with performance.
having a blast
Yep. That looks to have fixed the stuttering for me too. I didn't bother with the frame cap, just the Ansel thing + project lasso + vsync + prerendered frames set to 1.
Im not going to say the problem doesn't exist, but I did the nvdia maximum pre-buffered frame fix, and I get a steady 60 FPS on High settings, with a 980(not the ti) I highly suggest you try this fix.
Go to your control panel and set the max to 1, for pre-rendered frames.
What what problem exactly are people having with mouse control? I turned mouse acceleration and friction off under "mouse control" and it seems fine now.

It's tied to framerate, so if people were losing frames, even without accel/smoothing it'd just be a mess.

completely useless for me since i have amd
i want to cry
Just finished the game. There was only one point I had performance problems, and that was on the boat ride into the first mission. Ran on ultra settings on a GTX 1070 with 16 gig of ram and a 4.2ghz 8 core. So the performance issues are kind of strange then, as I was averaging 68fps, with the lowest ever being 32 during normal game play.
The AI randomly went between being good and bad too. There's times where they'd look straight at me and not see me. Then other times where they'd spot me through walls and objects.
this game made me realize that there is not nearly enough voice actors in the video game industry
this game made me realize that there is not nearly enough voice actors in the video game industry
Is there a lack or just a lack of really good ones? Dishonored 1 had some pretty sub par voice acting
i just meant that nearly every voice actor in this game is so commonly used in the industry that they're instantly recognizable. Brandon Keener, Stephen Russell, Keith Szarabajka to name a few that are in the game.

Keith's in this?! Or are you just naming the most famous of them?
delilah slit a mans throat for a pair of shoes
edit:
why is mission select gone
"Lets spend years working on a brilliant game with amazing art direction, that everyone is loving, performance aside, and not dedicate any effort at all into working a bit more on the performance bugs and optimisations."
Of course they're working on the issues, christ. What a waste of time, money and reputation it would be if they didn't.
The last message we got before then was "Did you try turning [del]it off and on again[/del] the graphics down lol". That is definitely an improvement IMO.
Funny you mention voice acting, I know it's been said before but I'm not a die hard dishonored fan and even I don't like the Outsider's new voice. Apparently the old voice actor did the voice for the trailer but they never got in contact with him for the game. There's so much more depth and intrigue in the old voice actor's delivery, it really is a shame

i looked up the voice acting deal, he posted on reddit and confirmed it.
his reddit name is "trannydestroyer"
jesus lol
The new voice grew on me but I really prefer the old one.
Tried out those changes from Reddit. Didn't help :( Still 50 FPS on lowest settings in outer areals.
Man, I wish Bethesda wouldn't have been such fucks and just let them use the Unreal Engine again. Or could have been waiting a bit longer for id Tech 6, seeing how smooth it runs in Doom
I just found out if an enemy's standing next to a ledge and you hold the attack button, you do a kick attack to kick them off the ledge.
Finally Dark Messiah gets a sequel.
yeah but its not a kick button
And you can't do a kickthrough because of it.. :c
You can sorta do a kickthrough if you play as Corvo and buy the blink kick upgrade.
And damn it's a powerful kick, Corvo kicks with the force of a windblast.
Do corvo and emily have different story elements/dialogue and stuff from other characters [sp]specifically the outsider?[/sp]
Do corvo and emily have different story elements/dialogue and stuff from other characters [sp]specifically the outsider?[/sp]
i dont know about many of them but i know that some npcs comment differently, i.e. the clockwork soldiers describing corvo as having a military profile, but hostile
[sp]also he knows its granny rags' hand when you get paolo in the dust district[/sp]
idk about any others tho
I need help please
[sp]I cannot exit the clockwork mansion with or without Sokolov. I've tried killing and peacefully neutralizing Jindosh and it still crashes on trying to exit[/sp]
Anyone else having shitty fps in [sp]The city you travel to after the prologue?[/sp]
So I'm using process lasso to force high cpu priority on the game but even that doesn't work, it sets itself back to low priority regardless...
